We very much enjoyed our stay over a weekend. The service was highly attentive and welcoming. Of note Hiro in the restaurant at breakfast was amazing. He remembered our orders perfectly on both days and went out of his way to assist. The current breakfast situation with regards to covid conditions is to be highly commended. The choices were sensational. Well done. Also to Courtney who assisted us with several requests over the weekend to be commended. The room was clean and well presented. Thank you also for the very kind gift of Patagonian chocolates and card waiting in our room for our birthday girl. A faultless stay. One of the best IHG hotel experiences we have had Well done Crown Plaza Queenstown We will be writing our review as requested later on this week.
Excellent hotel to stay overlooks Lake Wakatipu. Room great comfortable beds. No noise . Excellent location mins walk into town. Great service Great breakfast with wonderful service extra special with a berry smoothie offered. Late check out 1pm.
Stayed here two nights and found this to be a solid choice. First, the staff here were excellent. Everyone was helpful and pleasant. They acknowledged our IHG status since we were using award nights...that was great, as we have not found that everywhere. Brilliant location. Easy parking which we got free with our IHG status, very much appreciated. Really perfect location, everything was a short and pleasant walk away. The rooms are dated and not really "luxury", but everything was spotless and comfortable and the view makes up for it. Strangely our room had a queen bed instead of a king, but again, it had a great view and a balcony so it was fine. I know QT has mostly older hotels so this is the standard, I know. The only area that could use some improvement is the breakfast, for vegans and vegetarians anyway. Would suggest adding a few things: since you have an egg station, offering a tofu scramble for vegans would be great and hopefully not to much of a hassle. Also someone had put out the most gigantic pieces of raw carrot and beetroot...which was funny since how could you eat that, really ? :) Instead, maybe grate both up (or serve some roasted or cooked) and offer with some lettuce or other greens, some beans, any other veggies you might have on hand, and some balsamic vinegar and olive oil? Just a few suggestions since I know NZ has many health minded and vegan travelers these days. But overall, solid choice for QT and you cannot beat the location. We enjoyed our stay.…
Great location. Across the road from the lake, restaurants, shops, tour options. Easy walk to everything. Restaurant did not have enough options on the menu for meals. More for burgers etc. Staff were absolutely awesome. Bringing the car to the front door whenever needed.
The room was more spacious rhan expected given our location, and everything was of impeccable quality. Unfortunately the front desk mistakenly told us breakfast was included in our room rate, when in fact it was not. It wasnt worth the price and we would have preferred to eat elsewhere rather than pay $$$$ for 2 breakfasts and extra for coffees & juices etc.

What a joke. Booked two rooms for family. Rooms were run down. Our room faced the side street even though we paid top dollar when we booked. We had a deal though Booking.com but stupidly did not take a screenshot to be able to prove we got totally ripped off. We got charged $670 a night which wasn’t what we were quoted. Looking on their site today they have rooms for $280. Numerous emails have not resolved our issues. There is no way we would have stayed there at those prices as much better options available. Trip was not school holiday peak prices. Don’t stay here! Blatant theft of original amount paid up front to hold then charging again. Some could call it theft.
Despite the location this hotel should be avoided at all costs. It is very expensive for starters in terms of the state of the hotel. Our room was stale smelling (as though it had been smoked in) and the bedding was dirty when we arrived. In addition the bathroom was dirty (hair and scum in bath) and I noticed this remained throughout our stay. The state of the hotel is rather run down. Whether this is due to Covid I am not sure but general maintenance is just really lacking. For the price of this hotel one should expect far far better. I have stayed at other Queenstown properties such as Sofitel and Novotel. They are far nicer and far cleaner and I would recommend these over the Crowne Plaza
Me and my partner visited Crowne plaza last week and could not fault it at all! The rooms were amazing and Great service in the restaurant by our lovely waitress Emma and the food was fabulous. Will definitely be back
My husband and I and our 2 small kids recently stayed at Crowne Plaza in Queenstown. I booked a deluxe twin room for us paying over $500 nzd extra to get a lake and mountain view. When I checked in at the hotel, I was given Room 115. Noticing that I was given a room on the first floor I asked if my room had a view as I booked a deluxe room. Two receptionists had pointed out to me that booking a deluxe room through booking.com doesn't guarantee me a full view and will get partial view instead depending on availability and that if I had any issue with this, I need to take it up with booking.com as I didn't book directly through them. So I said I will check out the room. The room was a joke. I can see the hotel entrance canopy from the balcony which is blocking the lake view! I was livid so went down to reception and was dealt with by a different receptionist. I told her that I would rather get a standard room than that joke of a deluxe room. But as I didn't book directly through them, she apparently couldn't change my booking so I asked her what she can do for me. Alas she found me a better room with room 603. It had a partial view but better than whatever view 115 had and pretty quiet up on the 6th floor too. I don't know why Crowne Plaza would classify room 115 as a deluxe room when it should be just a standard room?! I emailed booking.com on our first night to make a complaint and we stayed there for 5 nights, checked out today and I am still waiting for a reply. I also tried their nz number but it's only for accommodation providers not for customers. I've had good experiences with booking.com but nothing went wrong with those past bookings so this makes me not want to use them in future in case I need to contact them immediately to remedy something. The shower pressure was not great in the room. On the plus side, the location was excellent. Within walking distance of everything in central Qtown. Housekeeping did a great job too. My tips: - if you're after twin rooms, save yourself the money and just book a standard twin room. Go up to the 6th floor or the kids zone for the views. Rooms with lake front views are mostly king rooms. - book directly with Crowne Plaza…
