Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the hotel for several nights. It is a short but hilly walk to & from the Queenstown centre & lakeside. On-site parking is available for a fee, however parking in Queenstown is limited. Our room was clean & well appointed. The on- site laundry was a bonus as we had been travelling for a few weeks. The view from the dining area & bar is stunning. The option of providing vouchers for use in bar etc area if you chose to waive the daily room service was interesting & good idea. Would certainly stay again!

We were in a suite overlooking the lake so the view was 10 out of 10. Cleaning services were fantastic, being fast, meticulous, reads notes left behind by us and can’t be faulted. Had dinner and breakfast and it was pretty good but slightly pricey otherwise it was wonderful, definitely go back

After 2 weeks in New Zealand and múltiple stays in many hotels , I have been absolutely blown away at the level of customer service . That is until we got to this hotel . All the way from no help with luggage to asking if I can grab a take away coffee at 6:25am 5 minutes before breakfast started. I was told rudely At 6:30 you can. We were catching a bus a 6:30 to Milford sound so we were unable to stay for breakfast. Any of the other hotels would have gladly let us get a coffee literally 5 min early. As I said not customer service oriented at all. Such a disappointment at the end of a 2 week trip . Look elsewhere if customer service is important to you

The hotel is beautiful and in a convenient location to downtown Queenstown. However the poor service was quite frankly appalling. Very rude staff who do the absolute minimum for guests. We witnessed rude staff to not only our own group but to other guests as well. The rude staff is enough to make me not go back and discourage others from staying there.

We loved our stay at Hotel St. Moritz. We happened to be here during the Queenstown Marathon and even at full occupancy, the hotel felt relaxing and luxurious. We loved our 2 bedroom family suite with a spacious living area and an amazing view over the lake. The hotel was a short stroll to the center of town (and a steep hill back) and had fantastic views from the main dining areas. There was also plenty of free water and other treats available in the lobby. The outdoor hot tubs were also a great treat at the end of the evening, My only recommendation would be to improve the breakfast offering as the buffet was lackluster and it seemed cheap to charge for specialty coffee drinks. Overall, we had a great stay and would highly recommend the St Moritz.

Great stay, awesome location with friendly and efficient staff. Can truly say this was a nice relaxing stay, 2.5 hours flight from Sydney. The beds were made up on time and the room was clean, well taken care of and comfortable. A gem a short flight from Australia.

Denise, the front desk lady, shows high level of professionalism and etiquette, which is a rare find in hospitality. Good on her! E.g. When I as a customer dining in hotel’s restaurant, my car parked within Hotel’s premise, she treated me as a valued member.

Well positioned hotel, with well provided and comfortable rooms. The dining room has fantastic view of lake and surrounding mountains. Staff all customer focussed. Would recommend the restaurant for dinner as food and drinks both excellent.

If my ship comes in this would be my winter residence. Spacious room, excellent in-house restaurant. Staff as fine as any hotel I have ever stayed in anywhere in the world. Walking distance to many restaurants and attractions in Queenstown. Definitely opt for lake view if available.

We booked an alpine suite which was supposed to have a view of the mountains. If I’m being honest, the room we were originally allocated did have a view, but only if you stood up and looked over trees and corrugated roofs. We complained and were moved to a higher floor the next day. Not ideal. Also the hotel is on a very steep hill so not great if you don’t want to walk up hills. Breakfast was ok, but I like a hot cup of tea and they had water in a jug which want hot enough so we had lukewarm tea both mornings! However, the staff were lovely and the room was spacious and comfortable and the location very good if you are ok with hills.
