Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Tables in the garden to have a nightcap. Rooms very comfortable and roomy. Restaurant was good for breakfast buffet. Close to a lot of activities but is on a hill so bring your walking shoes. Favorite city in NZ for activities and great restaurants! Can't wait to go back!

Beds were so comfortable, easy, quick check in. Plenty of choice at breakfast, efficiently run, always clearing tables for a quick turnaround. Items refilled promptly. Only a 5-10 minute walk to town down where shops, restaurants and bars were, a conveniently located hotel. Will stay again if we ever revisit Queenstown.

From arrival forward we were impressed with this hotel. Jessica, who handled our check in, was also our source for recommendations as well as for operating tips for some room items with which we were not familiar. After initially being told that breakfast hours began at 6:30am, the hotel restaurant adjusted their start time to 6:00an to accommodate some early tour departures (including ours). Our room was clean and comfortable lacking nothing we needed, and featuring a great mountain view. The breakfast included a very wide selection of foods and beverages, and the staff were quick to replenish dwindling supplies of any items. Our entire stay was very comfortable.

The hotel is old and tired and has not been updated since the 1980's. There is an extreme lack of power plugs available in the rooms. In todays age everything we own needs to be charged and the rooms have very few plugs, you had to unplug things like the TV to be able to charge your devices. The wifi was about as slow as old fashioned dial up and we had to give up on it and use our own data. The final straw was our room was not serviced at all and when I went to reception to ask if this could be done the guy at reception was extremely rude. The room was very expensive and we got nothing for our money. We might as well have stayed in a backpackers.

The hotel furbish was rather old except the bathroom. But the Wifi was really unbearable. We spend 3 nights there and the hotel staff just said it was due to heavy usage by guests. I certainly will not recommend for business travellers or guest who needs wifi to stay in the hotel. Overall, I was not impressed by the staff service and hotel.

Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived even though it was an hour past check in time. They were supposed to call us when it was ready, but 2 hrs later, no call. No hot water in the hotel and the gym is unavailable as under construction. Manager didn’t care about our complaint. This is first night of 3 night stay here and we are wishing our tour company had booked us in somewhere else…

This was a nice, conveniently located hotel in Queenstown. The rooms were nice, but certainly not luxurious. It was just a comfortable and clean hotel in a good location. Our only complaint was that there should have been an elevator from the lobby level up to the restaurant level.

In need of extreme makeover. Ripped curtains, worn fixtures, moldy bathroom. The worst: pull back the duvet to find a long, black hair on the pillow. Manager was not helpful. What a ripoff. Ruined otherwise nice trip.

My experience was very average. The room was well appointed, but let down by the servicing and quality control. The facilities are ok, but nothing special. The best feature, ironically, is looking out of the hotel at the magnificent views.
