Queenstown’s mountain playground is one of the great alpine regions of the world and the lower slopes of beautiful Ben Lomond Mountain (Te-taumata-o-Hakitekura) are home to Rendezvous Heritage Hotel Queenstown. Designed with a rustic alpine lodge aesthetic, the hotel is a short 15-minute stroll to town along the banks of Lake Wakatipu and offers unobstructed and spectacular views of the lake, Walter, and Cecil Peaks and The Remarkables mountain range. Beyond its natural beauty, Queenstown is a hub of fine dining, boutique shopping, and vineyards and you’ll be welcomed with a generous dose of southern New Zealand hospitality. Within the hotel, Guest rooms offer an array of exquisite views allowing guests to connect with nature, whilst a swimming pool, spa and gym facilitate holistic wellbeing. Mackenzies Restaurant offers intimate dining complemented by glowing fires in the winter, and in the summer, al fresco fare on the expansive balconies.

Heritage Queenstown garners accolades for its impeccable cleanliness and friendly, professional service, with special mentions of its spacious, well-equipped rooms boasting sweeping views. However, the hotel's atmosphere receives mixed reviews; the restaurant's cozy vibe is praised, but some rooms are deemed outdated and noisy.
While the amenities, including kitchenettes and comfortable beds, are generally appreciated, the pool and spa area sometimes fall short of expectations. Opinions on value diverge, as views and staff are seen to offset high parking fees for many, but not all, guests.

Detailed Reviews
Stayed here for four nights in July and on the whole was pretty impressed with the hotel.
Our room was of a good standard and the free parking garages under each accommodation wing were great if you have your own car.
Buffet breakfast was good with enough options to satisfy most people.
The hotel also has a well equipped self service laundry at a very reasonable price to wash all your gear after a day on the ski slopes.
The only problem I encountered was the Wifi which in our room was so slow it was hopeless but not sure whether it was the same through out the whole hotel.
Also if you don't have a car and don't like walking stay somewhere else as the hotel is about 15 mins walk to town with some of it uphill.

We booked a Lakeside room but we were shown to a room which was next to the main road with more noise than view. As they were busy we had no alternative but to upgrade at our cost of $50 per night to a Lakeside View room which was so much better with incredible views. The tired and not so clean room had a well found kitchenette (with coffee machine / pods) and washing machine/dryer which we had difficulty operating and Sky TV and great wifi was appreciated. Staff were responsive to our requests for help with the dryer and with bugs in our room. Underground parking with lift direct to your floor was efficient (when you could get it) and were we glad of a car as the walk back from town is uphill! Parking is limited in town and we were able to park our car in a free parking area whilst we went on an TSS Earnslaw cruise (highly recommended).

This is an older up market hotel which is due for some refurbishment to keep it competitive.Wear and tear showing in some areas. The rooms are large and the beds comfy. I asked for a quiet room away from the traffic noise from the road and when we entered the room alocated, found they had given us just what I didnt want. A room with the traffic noise, no double glazing and no relief from the vehicles tearing up and down the hill outside, overlooking the road. I promptly returned to reception and repeated my request and we were given what I wanted, a nice quiet room overlooking the bush. Always annoys me when they do this and hope to get rid of the worst rooms first in the hope guests wont complain. Parking was underground and although tight in some spots we did not have any issues with it. The self service laundry is located in one section of the basement car park, which whilst handy could be a bit creepy at night if you are alone. The issue that was annoying was, we received a letter under our door the next moring of our two day stay, telling us our room would not be cleaned until after 3pm that day as there were a large number of people checking out. We went out for the day and when we returned to have a rest and change for dinner,at around 5pm, found our room still had not been cleaned and wasnt done until around 6pm, and even then we told them to just do towels and empty the bins to save them time and us having to sit around to wait until they finished. This should not happen. Not the cleaning staffs fault but management's poor organisation.

The Heritage Queenstown is a located on a quiet hill overlooking lovely Lake Wakatipu. It is a large hotel with ample amenities including huge, clean, comfortable, spacious rooms with seating areas complete with couches, chairs, coffee tables and writing areas. Rooms are equipped with refrigerators, safes, spacious closets, large bathrooms with walk-in showers along with irons, ironing boards, minibars and coffee/tea/hot chocolate service.
The hotel is located about a 10-15 minute walk outside the city. Municipal bus service is freely available right across the street from the hotel's entrance which makes it easy to access the city if walking is not desired.
Hotel staff are courteous, helpful, professional and a concierge is freely available to answer questions or to book activities.
If you're looking for a quiet hotel, with ample amenities and don't mind a short walk into town, the Heritage would be right for you.

My husband and I booked this property last Feb for our 1st trip to beautiful NZ. We were on a motorcycle trip for 10 days and came from Mount Cook. The switchback roads are very narrow coming into Queentown and cars were passing our bike around corners carelessly.
We arrived at the hotel around mid afternoon and were able to check into our forest wing, building 1, 2nd floor room which had a balcony overlooking the woods but you could hear (not see/walk downhill to waterfall). The room was a decent size with a fridge, lots of closet space and a heated towel bar. :) We did use the pool (1/3 of it under roof near hot tub) gym and sauna a few times. We couldn't see the lake from our room (higher floors I'm sure could glimpse it) and it was a 20 minute walk downhill to park/beach with views of the beautiful lake with many restaurants and shops. I noticed that the room rate online was lower and sent an email (Dec 24) to reservation manager but didn't hear back till after Christmas. A discount I'm told didn't apply, a room upgrade would of been nice!
We had dinner downtown the 1st night at a seafood restaurant along the water (sorry didn't get name of it) and delicious gelato at Mrs. Ferg's. There were quite a few people out and about. The next day we had a Christmas luncheon (about $80 US dollars per person) in their function hall, which was a delicous buffet with 1 included glass of champagne. We paid to have a decent breakfast buffet for both mornings.
We enjoyed our stay and ability to park our bike underground but would of enjoyed a room with a better view and breakfast included for the price we paid.

I really wanted to love my stay here but personally this hotel was not to my taste. The décor, while I think aiming for a kind of castle/alpine lodge feel felt a bit dark and dated.
Overall, the room was comfortable. There was a selection of teas coffees, kettle, fridge and some single serve UHT milk containers provided. On housekeeping I noticed teaspoons from room servicing left on the little tables on the hall for a couple of nights so would encourage attention to detail. That being said their cleaning of the lifts every hour and hand sanitiser was a good touch.
Breakfast was included in our stay and was quite a nice selection. The staff were all friendly and approachable and the parking and location met our needs.

Was a nice hotel, although the rooms were starting to become a bit dated.
The day before check in we were informed that there would be no house keeping services due to short staffing. This was disappointing, especially due to the price of the rooms, making them not very good value for money.
When we went to use the bed, we found a lot of hair in the sheets / duvet from the previous guest. The staff were quick to change the bedding and offered a complementary drink as compensation. This was very disappointing and not something one would expect from a high rated hotel.
On a positive note the staff were very friendly and helpful.
I would not stay here again

Dear CLETUS1, Thank you for your valuable response. We are sorry to hear that your stay was not up-to your expectation. While, we mention about the limited housekeeping service in the pre-stay emails that we send out to guests prior to their arrival, we must have missed yours one out due to not being able to obtain your contact information. I duly apologize about the issues that you have encountered upon your arrival. This is definitely not the service that we intend to provide. I assure you that an extra emphasis will be given in the future to make sure such incidents are minimized altogether. On a good note, I am delighted to see that the team did manage to impress you with their genuine and helpful service. I wish you well and hope to welcome you back to the hotel again soon. Warm Regards, T.H.E. Heritage Queenstown.

As an Expedia+ member, we were welcomed with a drink each and late checkout (ie. +2 hours to 12nn). We were also given a free upgrade to a lakeview Suite. The hotel is on a hill, so the lake view was even better.
The checkin process was slow. We arrived at 1.30pm and was told the room wasn't "ready" (fair enough as check in is 2pm onwards). Ended up the room was only ready at 2.30pm. Saw another couple also waiting till 2.30pm, and the hotel wasn't full on the prior day!! We had the ala-carte breakfast and some items were freshly cooked while some (bacon) was obviously simply plucked from the buffet spread. The hotel does't offer a free shuttle to town (buses costs $5/pax) and is a 20mins walk to town. Recommended to walk as parking can be difficult to get in town.

We had booked an Executive Deluxe Room, which is a larger than standard size, at their best available rate at short notice due to a change in plans. We have stayed here before on a number of occasions and enjoyed our stay. This time our room, was situated on the ground floor on the corner right beside the entrance/exit door to the wing and also have some sort of service cupboard beside it This meant we got a lot of noise from people opening/closing the entrance doors at all hours and also during the day had noise from use of the service cupboard on the other side of the wall. Due to Covid we also ordered a meal for 2 to be collected and eaten in our rooms. One of the meals was inedible and very disappointing (ribs). We did inform reception and they did take it off our bill. Overall we didn't feel the room was worth the rate charged, given the noise levels, and will consider this when we next travel to Queenstown.

Spent 5 nights here in a beautifully appointed Lake View Studio Suite as a treat to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The view from the private balcony has to be one of the best in Queenstown! We booked for 4 nights but loved it so much we added an extra night.
The room was huge, and looked newly refurbished with the most comfortable super king bed, plush new carpets and furniture, well stocked kitchenette with espresso coffee maker and complimentary pods. Lovely bathroom with bath and separate shower. Washer/dryer, everything we could have needed!
The whole place was immaculately clean, the staff all extremely friendly and helpful. Had nice dinners in the restaurant, and the daily cooked breakfast was delicious and set us up for the day. The location is quiet and peaceful, just out of town, parking was easy in the underground carpark, (also regular buses stop just outside).
We last stayed 10 years ago, but we definitely won't leave it that long again!

Afternoon Christine, Many thanks indeed for your superb summary. The beds are very popular and have been especially made for Heritage Hotels, in fact we sell a good number of them to guests! Bus stop in either direction makes easy access of the great public transport service (just 20 minutes to the airport). Buses go every 15 minutes until 7.30pm and then 30 minutes after then. With best wishes Andrew Andrew Dearle Acting General Manager

Ours didn't but they have a carafe that boils water.
Quite a long way but we got a bus and with a local card buses are only $2 a trip so well worth getting a local bus card at the airport (at the paper plus store)
we used the buses a lot as go past the hotel every 10 -20 mins
Yes we had a washer dryer combo in our room.
