My partner and I visited Queenstown and stayed here for 4 nights 5 days. It was awesome! We loved the atmosphere and the beautiful scenery, not to mention our room was very nicely decorated. Our room was also very clean, had the most comfortable bed we’ve ever slept on and most of all was very WARM! Big shout out to the people working at the restaurant especially Alex (?) who made the most delicious cocktails and was just genuinely a cool guy. We will be staying here again and will be telling everyone else to do the same! Very satisfied with the service we received and the hotel itself 😀
Spent a weekend here. The hotel looks great in photos, but is a little 'old' inside. The room was sparse and rather dated, as was the bathroom. They make a big thing about offering you a good night's sleep, but being on the first floor in the Forrest Wing there was an annoying machinery sound operating both nights. The hotel is a little out of the town. It's up a big hill, which is walkable if you're OK with walking, however the narrow path is slippery with ice (in Winter, of course). Also, remember you’re in New Zealand, which means that you will get ignorant, speeding motorists, flying up and down the hill, just inches away from you. It didn’t feel particularly safe (or quiet). Don’t walk it with children. The restaurant staff were excellent. Very friendly and approachable. They made the difference. The food was good, though a bit expensive. The restaurant itself, though, is very cold. How in 2022 they haven’t sorted out heating I just don’t know. Many guests sat in jackets, or took up the staff’s offers of blankets. But who wants to sit in a restaurant with a blanket on your lap. Frankly it’s bizarre that the hotel operates like that. It’s also unfair on the staff.…
Nice enough older hotel. Housekeeping is not daily. Hotel looks great from the exterior. Inside it’s older than you’d expect. Rooms are adequate, but certainly not amazing, older basic bathrooms. Conference facility was good. The hotel lost me when reception told me on a 4 night stay they’d only service the room after the 3rd night! At least I then understood why many of the seasoned conference delegates choose to stay elsewhere. Good enough, but probably better alternatives for the same price.
Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights on a golf break . Hotel was just outside town centre at top of steep hill . The hotel itself was on the older side but still clean & in good condition The buffet breakfast every morning was very very good with choice of eggs freshly done by a lovely Chinese lady both mornings The only negative I would say was we stayed in the Forrest wing in room 109 and there was what sounded like a generator running during the night on what seems like different levels so would get loud then die down then loud again when it kicked into gear This would not be good if your light sleeper Overall was good hotel for what we paid & would use again just would ask for different wing
We stayed two nights... great reception, check in was smooth and easy and reception was friendly and informative.. had a booking though bookme package was great, was in forest wing great room and views off lake and remarkable amazing , breakfast was part off room which was yummy and a wide range off goodies staff very friendly and welcoming...spa and sauna was added bonus and great to soak in, the restaurant was only offering bar food, but it was very yummy especially the kurmura chips... I would stay here again and highly recommend to anyone.. it's out off town a wee bit but I liked that ..
Beautiful comfortable bed and modern decor. Close to town and very quiet considering that. Appreciated the convenience of the basement carparking, close to the lifts and easy to access. Loved the complimentary drinks that came with the room.
We went to Queenstown for our pre wedding video and photoshoot. We stayed at Heritage Queenstown and I appreciate how smooth the booking process is as well as accommodating my request to have some photos taken in the rooftop if there's no event happening that day. Sebastian and Melissa both did a fantastic job in answering my queries via email. We booked a Studio Suite Non lakeview but we we're surprised that they upgraded us to Lakeview suite instead. Thank you very much. My family enjoyed our comfortable stay in Queenstown.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Heritage. The staff we very kind and helpful both at the front desk and in the bar and restaurant. The food was good and our room overlooking the lake was excellent.
The hotel is a bit dated in look. This didn’t hamper our enjoyment. It’s clean, classic, throughout the hotel there is scattered photography and artwork selecting the early days of QT. Flowers in the hall way a nice touch. Room service is fast and quality. Staff are amazing here. Anything you want or need, ask them. There great. Breakfast was a bit on the vanilla side. Eggs cooked fresh. Some fresh fruit would be nice. Special thanks to Jonathan, Lenora and my boy Alex. Thanks, we will be back
We stayed in the Forest Wing Deluxe Room and while the views were not spectacular we had a balcony and the room was very comfortable. Bed was great, tea & coffee making facilities provided and all else you would expect in a hotel of this calibre. As stated in a previous review there was no housekeeping due to the labour shortage but this was not a problem, if we needed anything it was a phone call away. After a day out it was lovely to have a drink in the lounge bar by the fire, the staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us even though they were doing very long hours. Car parking was easy and very conveniently under each wing so no getting wet! The breakfast was good and we had 2 dinner meals during our stay which were very nice & reasonably priced. I recommend the lamb shanks. We walked to the wharf for our trip on the Earnslaw & Walter Peak Farm(also recommended) and it was an easy walk and better than trying to find a park in town! The spa was lovely and warm and clean. So needless to say we very much enjoyed our stay and would happily stay there again, hopefully soon!…
