We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a suite which was a bonus as it included a washing machine and dryer, proper oven, microwave and dishwasher. The room had a view of the lake over the roof tops and was large and very comfortable. We had breakfast on our last day and it was adequate but as with a lot of hotels the hot food was tepid due to inadequate heating plates. The adjoining doors are noisy as previously stated and it is a very steep hill down to town. However the location suited us especially as it offered free on site parking.

I really enjoyed this hotel, which I stayed at with a tour group for two nights. It is up on a hill just a bit from the heart of everything the town has to offer. The suites are very generously sized, with kitchen, dining area, a good-sized bedroom, and sitting area. We were very happy that the unit had both a clothes washer and dryer for our use. This was wonderful to have after so many days of travel. The buffet food in the breakfast area was about average.

We stayed in a 1 Bedroom Suite which had a well appointed kitchen, a comfortable bed, big living room, spacious bathroom and laundry facilities too. If you're after a lake view room then make sure to request for one. Good wifi but the television in the room didn't have Sky, so this might be a concern for someone who particularly loves watching TV. Good breakfast on all days, with friendly staff who seemed cheerful throughout out time there which is always a good sight. Melanie at the reception was very welcoming along with Shirley* who helped with our reservation. There's also free parking on site but that can get full on busy days, so you gotta be lucky. 1-2 parking spaces were used as storage with hotel stuff which can be annoying during busy times if that's where it remains. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would surely recommend as well as return :)

My wife and I stayed for3 nights recently on our Southern Tiki Tour. This property is a cross between an apartment and a hotel. The native plants around the walkways give it an exotic feel and breaks up the traffic noise and the coldness of the concrete construction.

The access to the reception/bar/restaurant is a little unorthodox but perfectly functional. The staff were all friendly and keen to help if a little lacking in skills. The buffet breakfast was included which(along with the free carparking) made the whole stay GREAT value. The location is superb, an easy walk from QT central.

Other little things like the free laundry and and the easy access to our room without having to go through reception were the cream on top. This is very good accommodation and unless you have the extra cash to stay at The Spire, Sofitel or Eichardts can't be touched in the Queenstown township.

Great location, minutes to town centre. Easy downhill walk to town however bit of a climb coming back. Not a major drawback but worth knowing. For those that may use the local bus, stops pretty much outside the hotel. Reception, house keeping, restaurant staff all provided great and most importantly smiling friendly service! Super clean, well furnished. Apartments with dishwasher, coffee maker, washing machine, dryer and well stocked kitchen. Could not ask for more. Reception was manned 24hours which was a big boon. Free parking onsite, however it is first come so not guaranteed on all days; street parking an option. Bit of a maze going from reception/entrance to rooms depending on room location; can be confusing for some; again not a biggie but pays to be aware. Good breakfast buffet so great start to they day! A/C in lounge big boon on the really hot days, which it was when we arrived. Depending on where you are, some rooms have great views some not so great. Unfortunately two new hotels have come up recently right in front of the property which have blocked the Remarkables views from some of the rooms. We have been to Queenstown a few times and suffice to say this was one of our best experiences accommodation wise. Will definitely be staying there again.

We had a family room. Furniture and bathroom is a but tired and could do with an update. Check in at 2pm but my room was not ready until 3pm. Good location to main shopping area. Guest laundry available at no cost which was a bonus, albeit only one machine and dryer available.

Came here to stay for 4 nights, we are a group of 4. Called in advance for the birthday card of my friend but we arrived in room without the car in the room. 4 star hotel?? Came to check in, parked our car in the basement and there was an employee blowing or cleaning the dust in the car park area. Note that this is around 2pm check in time, very unprofessional on my opinion. Specially 3 in the group are asthmatic. The rooms are OK. Blinds not working properly, ceiling on bathrooms are moldy. Our 2nd day the housekeeper left their cleaning equipment there got some reason which was a bit unhygienic on our opinion. People who are planning to stay here beware and don't get too excited the rooms are not what you think of..

Went here to celebrate me and my friends birthday..

Breakfast is ok. Good because included in the rates, but breakfast food can be hotter(temperature) I always wondered why the eggs were not hot and always comes to us cold-ish. Ciabatta not toasted, just sliced. Mushrooms too much dried thyme, a bit disgusting. Bacon so dry precooked for too long. Sausage was the good bit.

Overall this hotel needs proper communication within their teams. It's a shame cause they have a great location my opinion is that this 4 star? Hotel is getting tired and the owners or manager need to do something.

This is my honest and no sugar coating opinion.

Kia Ora Henry, Thanks for taking the time to write numerous reviews about our hotel. We would like to again take the time to address some of your concerns and experiences here at the Scenic Suites Queenstown. Firstly, we our proud of the high levels of customer service that we provide alongside our room and we are sorry to hear that on this occasion we have not met your standards of our hotel offering. Our hotel is rated by Qualmark as a four star hotel, this process we have gone through for many years as an operator and to the national standards and brand standards of Scenic Hotel Group. We are sorry to hear that the birthday card was not in your room when you arrived, however due to our busy operations and staffing levels this can be difficult to ensure these are placed in the room, especially as we had not received an indicated time of arrival here at the hotel. Regarding the dust blowing, our Housekeeping team services the basement car park on a daily basis to ensure it is clean and presentable to guests as they arrive at the hotel, it just so happened that they were doing this as you arrived at the hotel and we offered you special assistance with your luggage from our Guest Services team due to this. Regarding breakfast, we are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy this also. We have had to make changes to breakfast due to the covid alert levels and our wait staff are more than happy to assist with any special requirements you might have for a multi night stay such as yours. Once again, thank you for providing us with feedback regarding your stay, this has been passed onto our teams for measures of improvements and we apologise we were not able to meet your expectations during your stay at the hotel. We trust nonetheless that you enjoyed your time in Queenstown. Ngā mihi nui, Callum Clark Duty Guest Services Manager

We stayed for four nights and enjoyed the spacious apartment type suite on the ground floor but still with a small view of the lake. We took advantage of the senior special rate advertised direct with the hotel which on balance was the best deal in town at the time and included a buffet breakfast. With a full kitchen, separate bedroom, dining area, large bathroom with shower and bath and leather sofa to sit and watch the 55 inch TV. what’s not to like. The breakfast was great and the staff were a credit to the Scenic brand, very friendly and accommodating. So all in all a very pleasant stay and great value for money. Underground parking was also included.

We booked the room via Booking.com with header saying “One Bed Room Apartment with Lake View”, with the fair priced we quickly booked the room. However when we checked in, we then found out that the lake view was blocked due to low floor. We tried to appeal with the staff however we were first greeted with bad attitude:” there was important notice” on the ads saying lake view is by request and subject to availability otherwise pay additional $60 per night to secure the room?!

As a end consumer, we thought that the ads heading was misleading! Even though we got changed to another room with little city view, after dealing with the staff, but it somehow ruined the experience as we went there for our anniversary.

Overall the room is tidy, clean, and about 5 mins walk to town Centre, just the heading was misleading... 😔

We really enjoyed our time here. The location was great, a short 5 min walk to the central town area (not flat but only a short rise up/down the hill). The room felt spacious & clean and the beds were comfortable. There was only a small glimpse of a view through the buildings in front of us of the lake and mountains (we didn’t upgrade to a room with a view though). Worth the money and we would stay again!
