The best thing about this place is it's close to town. Very little shade, so boiling hot in summer. We have been all around the South Island and other places were friendlier and more home like. You need to enter your code to get into the bathrooms, and a high fence all around makes it feel like a detention centre. I tried to relocate to a quieter campground on arrival but was told there would be no refund. At $270 for 5 of us for 2 nights, this was our most expensive stay.

Unfortunately we had a terrible experience here with the staff, we came to the holiday park ready to check in and pay, we were going to tent on a site with our friends who had already checked in. When we told the front desk this they automatically told us to leave because they thought we were trying to sneak in to drink with our friends but we weren’t we had already booked. we drove to the visitor car park to call our friend so she could help us, the lady from the start followed us and yelled at us to get out. She was acting very unprofessional and she wouldn’t even let us explain ourselves. When our friend came we tried to explain to another staff member (a male) and as soon as we said they won’t let us check in because.... he wouldn’t let us finish explaining and always never let us finish our sentences. We went through way to much trouble to find somewhere else to stay and it was hard because this was in New Year’s Eve. Over all we just had a bad experience with the staff members and we felt unwelcome as customers so we won’t be coming back.

Management lost control effectively during the new year. Kept up by tens of teens drinking swearing and damaging stuff which kept my family a week pretty much the whole of most nights. Extremely poor. Management needs to gain control and act appropriately.

What a nightmare it was dealing with this place and these horrible people, who made our group feel like rubbish. We arrived in the evening ,went to go to the reception to pay for our booking, and the blonde lady at the reception kicked us out until we got our friends who were the camp ground. So we left and parked on the other side to message our friends to come down so we could pay and begin our night. The blonde lady then comes over and yells at us to leave, even though we were waiting for our friends to come down from the campground. When we tried to get in this old white guy comes over and tells us to leave, despite having a booking and trying to pay for our room. So we left and spent our money elsewhere. We were all so ready to leave. To the blonde lady and the old white dude, you guys both were both terrible and your campground is such a screw up. The worst place to stay or even go near in Queenstown.

We chose this place for its location and free car parking. We stayed in one of the motel units, the unit had a double bed and 2 double bunks in a separate bedroom, It was not fully serviced thought cleaners came through everyday and towels were changed. You could not cook in the room though they had a large communal Kitchen 5 doors down, we enjoyed breakfast there 3 morning and never saw anyone else. There was a good token operated Laundry $4 for a wash and the same for a dryer. The place itself has parking for 100s of holiday homes/caravans and is very much geared up for mass tourism with a large emphasis on advertising and selling excursions. It is close to town but uphill most of the way to get back the last couple of nights we paid $10 for a taxi ride to save the walk back. Motel generally good 1 or 2 issues with cleanliness brought to the attention staff when we checked out. Good priced option close to town with great views would stay there again.
