Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our favourite stay in NZ. Such a beautiful spot, close to the water with stunning lake views from our studio. Everything was spotlessly clean and high quality, with lots of additional thoughtful details considered. Fresh bread, butter, fruit, eggs and bacon were provided, making it a perfect start to our mornings. The surrounds are a lovely quiet green garden, with no traffic noise. Your own personal parking spot makes it nice and simple (Queenstown parking can be tricky!), and it’s just a 10 min easy walk into town. I HIGHLY recommend staying here - we will be back! Thank you so much.

Absolutely loved our stay at Stay of Queenstown. The place was meticulously clean, service impeccable, views out of this world, and the customer service was excellent. Ingrid also provided breakfast supplies which was very considerate.

We loved our stay at the Tekapo Suite at Stay of Queenstown. The 2 bedroom unit has its own garden and incredible views from the living / dining room and the second smaller bedroom. I could have just sat and enjoyed the view for hours on end. It is nicely furnished with beautiful art and thoughtful amenities. We loved the breakfast provisions and treats that were left for us and generous servings of milk, butter, eggs and bacon. The bathroom, while tiny, was clean. The bedding is comfortable and sheets were crisp and pristine. It was also a very easy walk down the path from the car spot to the house, which was handy for my elderly parents and for transporting luggage. The apartment is a few minutes drive from the centre of Queenstown and it was nice to be a little bit away. We also used the washer and dryer while there and they are good quality appliances. Ingrid was a very available host and kept in touch while responding quickly to messages, which we appreciated especially when we were trying to track down a missing special item. Alas, that appears to now be somewhere in Queenstown! We also had a very minor issue with bugs flying in through the windows and landing in bedding but that was easily addressed. Overall, we had a fantastic stay. The complex of apartments is really well maintained and beautifully and thoughtfully put together. It felt like staying in your own, luxurious home. We hope to return soon.

We loved our stay in the Tekapo Suite. The 2 bedroom stay was charming and lovely. The most amazing view. I do not like big busy hotels and this was the perfect fit!!! We did excursions during the day. And walked to town at night for dinner. The extras of fresh milk, eggs, orange juice, sodas and a couple of IPA’s fresh bread and muffins and cookies were amazing. I never had to run to the market! I would book again in a heartbeat!

This is not an ordinary hotel but an extraordinary place to stay! A unique and very comfortable/modern place. the hosts did everything possible to make it unique. The bread (and other food ) was delicious. Everything was also oriented to care for the environment! The view was beautiful (as was the weather). Very comfortable and felt very luxurious.it is one of the few hotels in which I have stayed where the hosts actually look after the guests! Guests do need to be able to walk down the hill to the town and then climb back up t again

We recently stayed at this accommodation. We had a fabulous stay with the best view over the lake ❤️ Loved the breakfast & all the treats that were left each day! The host Ingrid & staff were lovely & made our stay enjoyable. It’s in a great location with a pleasant walk to town. We loved our walks around the lake especially to the Boat Shed cafe for lunch 💕 Ingrid kindly took us to collect our car hire at the airport. She was very knowledgeable of the area & gave us lots of information . We would definitely stay at Stays if Queenstown on our next visit 💕

These are nothing more than a private room in someone’s house. You can hear every noise from above & next door. The advertisement reads King Beds when they are queen beds in all the bottom rooms. This is certainly not worth $400 per night. When you read others reviews I’m guessing these have been written by the owners !!!!! I complained to booking. Com about the fact the room was not what was advertised + the heating wasn’t working & the owner has come back to booking.com advising we should’ve mentioned our concerns during our stay which we did I would not recommend this overrated “private room” accomodation to my worst enemy & be very weary of the plastic owners who think a fresh loaf of bread will make people think they’re amazing ! Have stayed in a lot of 4 & 5 star accomodation & this was a complete “sucked in” by the photos

Whilst doing our third self-drive of North & South Island my wife and I passed thro' Queenstown and were so very fortunate to be in the Routeburn Suite at Stay of Queenstown for several days. As soon as we arrived in the dedicated parking space it was clear that Stay was head and shoulders above the rest, our suite was a good size for two, was extremely clean and had sweeping views over Lake Wakatipu and mountains beyond. Ingrid and her colleagues are mindful of what makes for a really relaxing stay - a comfortable bed, a decent size bathroom with an excellent shower, a tremendous 'Welcome Pack' of breakfast goodies and plenty of hooks to hang things on (a detail which we find to be frequently missing). The centre of Queenstown is only a 10 minute walk away (be sure to book for dinner, restaurants are frequently full) and one is really spoilt for choice for driving routes, be sure to include the one hour drive to Paradise Trust just beyond Glenorchy and include a walk to Ben Lomond Saddle if your knees are up to it ! Thanks Ingrid and Team Stay, we really appreciated the Stay experience.
