Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Not sure why this hotel isn’t ranked higher. The restaurant should not impact the hotel review. Very clean hotel room with small table, kitchenette and washer/dryer. Bathroom was nice size and included heated towel bar. Easy walk to all the activities and restaurants in Queenstown. It was a wonderful stay.

Hotel is pretty new and conveniently located near the edge of the park leading down to the beach. The centre of town is no more than 5-10 minutes walk. Rooms are perfectly ok - if a little on the small side. There is quite a nice terrace / bar outside - although the staff were very new and didn’t seem to have any idea how to serve a drink. Breakfast is fine and the staff are quite helpful - and very communicative. We had an issue with our booking they resolved promptly.

I read some of the other reviews and was surprised at the number of 5 star ratings. I was actually going to give it 2 stars because of the terrible $32 buffet breakfast, but my room was nice, although smallish, but not worth the money paid. One night with a partial lakeview( half was other town buildings) and one regular room. The girl who checked me in was nice and helpful ( she was actually Czech) as were the other staff, but the food was not great. It is reasonably convenient to town, just have to walk up a short steep hill to get back.

Great room with a lake view. Plenty of space and equipped with a washing machine and dryer😲. Very comfortable bed leading to excellent sleep quality. Quiet. Great kitchenette which we didn’t use because we only had one night. Would be great if staying for a few days. Good location with a short walk into Queenstown. Make sure you go for a Fergburger. We walked the Franklin Track to the Altitude Brewery which had a lively buzz about it. 10K there and back. Try the Atlas Beer Cafe in the harbour, their Pork Belly Bites are to die for, plus they have an extensive range of beers on tap.

Very well equipped room with beautiful view of the lake. The bed was so comfortable and great shower. We had a very well equipped kitchenette plus a washing machine and dryer in our room which was such a bonus. An easy 10 minute walk into the town centre. Parking is available on site (at a cost), so pre-book if you need but we got parking on the street across the road from the hotel. Room servicing was the only let down as we had to ask them to come and empty our bins and change towels and they didn't offer to make the bed, so we just did it ourselves. Other than that, it is a great place to stay.

It’s Day 3 here and we have nothing but compliments. Yes, our studio is a little tight with the amount of luggage’s for a 2-week trip. There’s still a boil water alert but there’s a water cooler and an electric water kettle in the room. The restaurant is adequate; filling avocado toast, delicious curry dish and nightcap. This hotel is a small setup so don’t expect the services of a larger establishment. We love the location, the newness, the in-suite washer and dryer, the quietness.. Our thanks to Sheri at the reception, Vanessa and Anita at the restaurant. In fact, every person we met seem happy to be working there! I am just glad we chose Ramada. You have set us up with a good start to our holiday!!

OK, so first of all, this was just too expensive and too small. The room was really small. The bed was small. The bathroom was small. Everything was small!! We were lucky that our room had an amazing view, so if you get to choose stay in the rooms lake side. Was awesome waking up to that. There was no complimentary water, and the water cooler down stairs had a sign on it saying "no bottle refills" On a positive side, the location was pretty good. Very walkable to town (as long as you don't mind a small hike up anhill) Overall though pretty disappointing and the proce was too much. The view and the location kept this from a 2 star review. Probably won't stay there again.

Dear Alistair, the room description together with it's size in square meters is available on every booking website. So when you decide that this is your preferred room type and you would like to pay it's price then complaining about it later make no sense. There is multiple room types available so please get familiar with the product you are purchasing. Kind Regards Jacob, FOM

Location is not good, It’s on top of a steep hill, not an easy short walk from the waterfront. There isn’t any convenient place to get lunch or a convenient grocery. The hotel didn’t serve lunch. The breakfast buffet was lacking temperature control for hot items. On two of the mornings the breakfast meats were undercooked, bordering on raw. Queenstown had a boil water advisory while we were there. The hotel did not supply bottled water and did not permit us to fill our water bottles. Rooms were very small compared to other NZ and Aussie hotel where we stayed. No chair in room, just a hassock. Only one folding luggage rack that when used blocked what little floor space there was around the bed.

Hi Randall, please read the property information and the room description when making a booking. It's a guest's responsibility to get familiar with a hotel location and room facilities when you decide to pay for it. There are multiple dining and shopping options only 5 minutes walk. Regarding the cafe you are mentioning in your review they are not a part of the hotel so please contact them directly if you have any concerns. Kind Regards Jacob, FOM

Lovely hotel with lovely staff. Unfortunately the wait of 40 minutes for a glass of wine is a bit on the long side. One person running the outside bar and the inside cafe is never going to work. Several couples arrived then left due to the waiting time to be served. Also be mindful there is NO parking on the streets around the hotel overnight. We had to pay $25 per night to park in the loading zone in the driveway of the hotel. This really needs to be advertised more clearly.

Dear guest, thank you for your review. Unfortunately the bar is not part of our business so it is out of our control but I'll be happy to pass on your review. If you'd like to contact them directly the name is Coco Cabana by Frank's. Parking in Queenstown is a long term problem. The area around the hotel is residential and works on a first come first serve basis. Parking at our property is limited so we always recommend a reservation. Kind Regards

Unfortunate experience with the staff not knowing how many people a room can accommodate and offering no help after the mistake was made. Book with caution so you don't have to sleep on the floor too.

Thank you for staying with us. The maximum occupancy of our rooms is 2 people due to fire safety regulations, this is noted on our booking site as well as Booking.com and Expedia. Extra bed is allowed only in One Bedroom Apartments due to same regulations. Our system doesn't let anyone to book more people into the room that can be accommodated, so more than that cannot be booked by our staff or guests either. If you have managed to book over the max occupancy somewhere, please contact us directly so that we can have a look at this case.
