Detailed Reviews
Me & my husband we’re lucky enough to spend a few nights here back in November and also get married at this beautiful spot! It was seriously magical & we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful location! We stayed in the dome & it had to be a few of the most special nights we have had together. No phone coverage so we spent our evenings playing board games that were provided, sitting out and enjoying the unreal scenes and exploring the beautiful farm! Harriet made us feel so welcomed & helped us out with anything we needed! Location was just perfect, so private and rural even though it’s only about a 15 ish minute drive from Queenstown town. Would 100% recommend staying here if your looking for a romantic getaway or even a wedding location! Also would recommend the Ben Lomond horse trekking that is at the bottom of the hill about a 5 min walk from the dome that was also amazing!!

Cosy comfortable and well appointed, there really isn't anything to complain about. The perfect compromise between traditional camping and a motel stay. Bathroom amenities were great. Cassette toilet was simple and clean to use. Kitchen had everything you needed including the kitchen sink! We also got the BBQ pack aswell, which was scrumptious. Great walk around the lake that is easy and quick (2hrs at snails pace as you rake in the breath taking scenery) a real credit to the time and effort put in by the family who run it. Thank you for sharing your slice of paradise with us👌

Just an amazing experience! Having no cell reception and Being totally off grid was awesome! Great way to chill out and reset in an absolutely beautiful piece of NZ.
The Dome was gorgeous, warm and comfortable.
Harriet arranged for a private chef to come in and cook us a 4 course keto meal... The best meal I've ever had!

A fantastic and ‘a bit different’ final night of our trip to QT. Amazing comfy and warm beds. Well supplied for games and fun times together. A beautiful location. Hot showers and well equipped mobile kitchen & BBQ. A wonderful disconnect from the busy-ness of QT.
It might be handy to supply umbrellas for night time bathroom visits in the rain. And maybe bring a bag of ice for the chilly-bin on a warm day to make sure your drinks and food stay chilled. The sort of place you want to (& need to) BYO as it’s a little bit of a walk back to the car, and a bit of a drive back to QT if you forget something. There is not much shelter for cooking if the weather turns, so bring supplies that can be flexible.
Be aware that you need to walk (with your supplies) to your accommodation .

The location was fantastic, so peaceful! The domes were well appointed with everything needed to make us feel warm and comfortable. The hosts were there each day to refresh water and supplies.
Our stay here was the highlight of our stay in South Island!

Our stay at Moke Lake exceeded our expectations!! I am almost hesitant to write a review because I would love this Glam camping experience to be our best kept secret :) Harriet (the host) was super responsive to our emails with questions and made sure everything was waiting for us when we arrived at our tent/yurt. The two tents are nestled in a hill with a mind blowing view of Moke Lake. It is so private and you cannot see another living soul. The site is well maintained and the shower/bbq/cooking and sink area are top notch. We loved (but didn't use) the emergency wine in our tent with a note attached. We are definitely coming back and have already told my closest friends.

After the long flight from the US, this glamping experience was a stellar way to unwind, have some privacy and experience NZ in an intimate and breathtaking way! Only 10 minutes from Queenstown, we felt 100 miles away from the rest of the world…which we loved!! The sun on the velvet green mountains were lit with orange hues each morning against the purple clouds. What a view!! The sheep in the hillside kept us company with their soft baas and Moke lake provided refreshment and a great hiking/running/biking experience. David and Harriet were amazing hosts and took care of getting delicious local food to the site, taking care of the water and toilet set-up and were kind and gregarious. We felt like family guests. Definitely go check out this wonderful experience!! We were booked at a 5star hotel for the remainder of our trip and wished we had spent more time at the glamping site!

Absolutely loved this property 🥰 The view of Moke lake is incredible and the tent looks amazing both inside and out! Harriet was such a lovely host too and very easy to get in touch with to organise things. The picnic that was set up for us was otherworldly and pretty much everyone I know has taken down the details to come for a stay when they’re in Queenstown. It was nice to disconnect for a bit and really immerse in nature and connect with my partner. Was very surprised by the quality of the amenities given the remote and isolated location. We’ll definitely be back, and I can’t wait!

Staying in the moonlight domes was such a special and magical experience. The interior is absolutely beautiful and very luxurious. The views are incredible. Is was colder than expected so bring warm clothes even in December. There is a full equipped kitchen and bathroom so everything you’ll need for the perfect glamping experience. The location is perfect as it’s just 20 minutes from queenstown but it feels like you‘re completely alone in nature surrounded by mountains and lakes. We can 100 % recommend staying here. Communication with Harriet was also great. Thank you for a lovely stay ❤️

Quite unfortunately our stay at Moke lake was the only cloudy night of our trip but it remains the location is absolutely stunning and the dome is well equipped, cozy and absolutely gorgeous. Go with your eyes closed! Thanks to the few hundreds of sheep who woke us up as well :)
