I stayed here for 5 nights 3 which were on my own both Jade and Jay were fantastic hosts and i must say i was really spoilt. The breakfast cooked by Jay was amazing with fresh fruit ,yogurt and all sorts of things then bacon eggs tomatoes wow it was great. My room was really nice and the bed was very comfortable and the whole hotel was spotlessly clean. The hotel itself is beautiful and the owners have done a fantastic job in restoring it On the 4th night my wife and her family turned up after doing the Otago rail trail and they all felt like Furg burgers for lunch so Jade drove my wife down to pick them up which was a great help as I wasn’t sure were to go. All of the my wife’s family members also really loved it here and after we got home couldn’t stop raving about it My wife and myself have done a lot of travelling and i would have no hesitation in recommending Hulbert House. It’s very close to town and just a heads up it’s easier to walk on the side of the road with the footpath on than the side without it as i found the hard way lol

Hotel's Favourite
I travel frequently and I have never stayed in such a special place. The Hulbert House has been lovingly restored, its beds are so comfy, its gardens are beautiful, its location perfect, and the views spectacular. But it's the staff that makes this place so incredibly special. We were warmly greeted upon arrival with tea and honey as we settled into our rooms. Then invited us down for delicious canapes and wine in the lovely living/dining room. They made dinner reservations for us and then drove us to and from the restaurant! They made arrangements for us to be picked up for our overnight cruise on Doubtful Sound and kept our large pieces of luggage for us while we were gone. Upon returning we were again warmly greeted, with tea with honey and lemon in our rooms, where our luggage awaited us. Then, because we were not feeling well, the staff made a delicious vegetable soup for us so we didn't need to go out for dinner. I have never been treated so warmly and well anywhere. Their attention to detail was amazing and they anticipated our every need. I can't say enough positive things about our delightful stay and I can't recommend Hulbert House highly enough. I don't usually write reviews but this place is so special I had to. Treat yourself to impeccable service in a beautiful home. You will not be disappointed.

Super nice location with happy staffs and delicious breakfast. Beautiful interior with scent of history and I personally really liked it. The hotel has only 6 rooms so you can enjoy a quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Just to note, if you are looking for luxury with SPA and pools, this hotel is not the right one. I don't usually write a review but as the hotel was surprisingly nice, and we had good time during this COVID period without travelling outside of the country, I just thought I should write a review to let others know about this property.

Excellent location, walking distance from Queenstown hotspots and access to electric bikes if you need to go further. You won’t find a more unique hotel in Queenstown, with such historic lineage. The service was above and beyond, we did not have to lift a finger or put any thought to the small details. We left feeling very spoiled and grateful.
