This is an Ibis Styles hotel so offers a slightly limited service, that said it was everything we needed, comfortable and warm. A continental breakfast is left in the room for you to self cater in the morning. Being located in the city centre makes it easy to get around. Free wifi and parking.

Hotel is situated in the city centre with restaurants, cafes and supermarkets within walking distance. Close walk to the bus stop for intercity buses and tour buses. Hotel room is typical ibis style and is good for short stays. Unfortunately, the hotel does not serve breakfast but one can always check out the cafes in the surrounding area.

Good solid accomodation in great location. Friendly and very helpful staff.
Stayed over with my adult son in 2 bedroom apartment. Good size bedrooms both with tv and fan. The most comfiest bed I’ve slept in so far on our South Island road trip. Safe car parking for $10 otherwise it’s free on street after 6pm.
The only downside was the bathroom verticals needed a very good clean and so does the main air vent in the kitchen, otherwise I was very impressed. When the lounge and gaming areas are open it will be even better.

The location was very central where one can walk downtown with numerous dining options.
The girl at the reception (Smita) was friendly and courteous.
The room was spacious and clean with comfortable beddings. The continental breakfast brought into our room the previous evening was adequate.
We will definitely stay here again.

Terrible experience. Arrived with 2 small children. Staff ok, noticed bad smell of fumes from lift to the room (4th floor) and worse in room. Went out for dinner, when we came back after 30 mins in the room my girls had headaches and felt sick. I requested room change and that was managed right away so credit to the night manager and he apologised. But I could still smell fumes on the 2nd floor in the new room. So I packed our bags and left. It seems to me like the diesel boiler exhaust is mixing with the ventilation system and I am very concerned for the occupants of this building.
I also note similar complaints of these fumes/smell in previous reviews.

Stayed for 4 nights. I have no complaints. The rooms were clean and the two bedroom were great to get the peace we need. The beds are a double, but a small double. The rooms were very warm, which is great in the south! There was a big kitchen area to cook on each floor and the girls loved the foosball table and pool table, although bring $2 coins. Check out the cinema room. $10 for parking under the building, but go out turn left at the roundabout and park in the middle of the road 100 m down the road.

Pretty average really. The layout is a bizarre maze of fire doors before getting to your room. The room layout was fine, but was lacking in the cleanliness space. Remote in TV didn’t work. Bed was very comfy however. Good for a quick stay, and not spending a lot of time in the room. Great central location and parking was free in the front of the building until 9am next day.

Have stayed at the Ibis in Invercargill previously and it is average accommodation. On arrival, I was pleasantly checked in (with no mention of loyalty status), but there was no ready record of my "breakfast included" booking. I was then informed that they stopped providing breakfast "ages ago", but it would be delivered to my room later. Which it was eventually when I rang up to check on it before I retired for the night! No free drinks vouchers, as no bar in the hotel. Bottle of water and biscuit as a loyalty gift (I think? There was no note.) in the room. Had to phone every night (4 nights) to ask for the breakfast to be delivered. Room comfortable and clean and accommodation as expected for an Ibis Styles. Noisy in hotel on the Saturday, but this settled by 11pm. Secure parking beneath hotel, which was much appreciated.

Anyone who wants a large condo studio or doesn't recognize what Ibis Styles is about would be shocked. They are smaller than most hotel rooms but functional and in the best downtown areas. I found this one to be one of the best Styles I've stayed in, right in the center of town, the bedding was clean, fluffy and comfortable, bedside with power point one side, dresser the other, hence the space restrictions. The modernish shower with hand head and kitchen area with sink, minus toaster and oven. I don't want an oven but maybe a toaster would be nice, if I was staying longer, but then maybe fire callouts become an issue. All in all a comfortable business pad, desk to do work at the window, studio room maybe not suited to families (actually NOT suited to families). Would I stay here again. Certainly, for business, not with the family, but this one may have larger multi room appts.

This property could be described as Accor's answer to a Backpackers Hostel but a bit more private and expensive. [Cheap for a hotel though] It is a refurbished old building and our room was on the fourth floor. Compact is the word with a mini bathroom, only two small opening windows and no air-conditioning. The day we arrived the room was like a sauna. You have to have the windows open at night and street noise was very noticeable. We had booked breakfast but, upon enquiring, were told there was no longer any dining room, nor a bar. Our continental breakfast was delivered to our room on a tray the previous evening. There is free parking. We enjoyed a comfortable king-sized bed and all facilities in the bathroom worked well. I haven't commented on service because basically there was none and we only saw four staff over the three days.

I checked what the hotel website had to say about this, I will write their information here below, Accessibility: for people with reduced mobility 1} reduced mobility rooms 2} wheelchair access 3} reduced mobility facilities 4} accessible bathrooms. I would strongly advise you to say what your needs are when you book as all rooms will not have these facilities, good luck to you and your travels, Rowena

Invercargill Apartments ARE NOT in Christchurch. They are another 900 odd kms away. Rebook your accommodation if you are staying in Christchurch. Most tourist towns have tours etc you can book.
