Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a beautiful tranquil BnB situated on acreage just a few minutes drive outside Invercargill, it is very close to the Highway but far enough you can't hear it.
We stayed in the luxurious stand alone cabin, which was spotless, stylish, comfortable & very private. It had a lovely kitchen great for self catering & a fabulous spa.
Our hosts were friendly, gracious & helpful, recommending a lovely restaurant.
I only wish we stayed longer, it was wonderful waking to the music of birds song.
I did notice the washing machine wasn't for guest usage, so you might need to check on that for longer stays.
I do recommend having a car.

Erin, thank you so much for your kind words. We are sorry we didn't offer you the washing machine as we are on rain water, we decided we would not offer the machine to guests as 1 guests came for 1 night and did 3 weeks washing and just about ran us out of water but when you were staying we had plenty of rain :) We will be concsious of that in future. Thank you again, you words meant so much, bless you. Mike & Anne.

We had a most comfortable and homely stay at Beersheba B&B. The hosts were very a welcoming and made sure all our needs were attended to with a smile. We loved the location and the comfy bed. The dinner recommendation (Louies) was spot on!

Well set up and organised on our arrival. Minor booking issue resolved on the phone at the start. Good location relatively close to both Invercargill, its airport and also Bluff for those who want to go that way. Winter time stay made easier by Micheal getting the fire stoked up for us each afternoon so we got back to tolerable temperatures.

we were not at all happy with this accommodation. We stayed in what we could only describe as a garden corrugated shed , a cold evening and the only heating provided was a woodburning stove. It was freezing in the morning when we woke. Had to drive 5kms to town for food.

Thank you for your comments. We do advertise across all channels that we are 10 minutes drive from the city centre. We realise for you it was an inconvenience but many of our guests appreciate the peace and quiet of rural life. Describing the Cottage as a corrugated shed is a little harsh. There is a heater in the bedroom which you may not have noticed. Regards Mike & Anne

My husband and I spent one night at Beersheba and wished we could have stayed longer. We were warmly welcomed by hosts Anne and Michael. Our accommodations were clean, comfortable and tasteful. Many thoughtful touches (like delicious cookies) had been added, and the breakfast was delicious and plentiful. We also appreciated the spot on recommendations our hosts made for activities and restaurants. We dined at Louie's restaurant, per their recommendation, and had an exceptional dinner. We would definitely stay at Beersheba again and advise others to, "Look no further in Invercargill."

We spent a couple of days in the Beersheba on our round-NZ trip, and couldn't fault it. Anne and Michael are great hosts, very interesting and knowledgeable (it seems like you're staying with friends they're so nice!), and the room and house were just amazing. Special mention has to go to the delicious platter that Anne made for us every night, and also the lovely breakfasts! We would definitely stay there should we go back to NZ again. Highly recommended!

After an exceptionally long international trip to get there (- over 18 hours, involving 4 plane trips and then a drive down from Queenstown), we were met by a somewhat hysterical, intemperate and unpleasant reaction from the wife of the co-owners, who seemed shocked and angry that we had the audacity to arrive at 8.30 pm. Her disagreeable and distasteful behaviour and attitude continued through all our subsequent interactions with her. Ruined what might have been a nice trip.

Grounds of the property seemed ok, though there are many just as nice or better in the surrounding areas.

Best way to described the interior décor is: "this is what an affluent owner in the early '80s must have thought fashionable".

Michael and I love hosting guests from all parts of the world here at Beersheba. Paul you arrived at 9.30 an hour and a half after our reception was closed. We were delighted to see you both as we had not had any indication that you would be checking in outside our hours, we assumed you would be a no show. We are sorry you misinterpreted my Kiwi humour and perceived it as a personal attack, this was never my intention and I will be very mindfull of this in the future.

We were staying only one night in Invercargill during a 5 week visit of the South Island high focused on hiking and cycling. We arrived in Invercargill quite tired and so happy we chose Beersheba Estate for our stay. We were aware it was a little farther from the town centre so prepared to bring food with us for our evening meal rather than head back to town. Our room was well appointed, clean and private lounge overlooking beautiful gardens made for a serene setting. It was a wonderful place to relax and rest for the rest of our journey. Anne and Micheal are great hosts, helpful in every way, cooked a delicious and bountiful breakfast. It was wonderful chatting with them and we were sorry our plans allowed us to only stay one night!

My partner & I escaped out to Beersheeba for an evening late Autumn. Our accommodation for the night was the cottage nestled amongst beautiful gardens. We were welcomed by a roaring fire & a view overlooking the large lawns....absolutely stunning. We had such a relaxing time in complete comfort. The spa bath was sorely needed & appreciated! Our hosts Mike & Anne were incredible making sure we had everything we needed, great movie recommendations as well!! Highly recommended. Thank you Mike & Anne.

Perfection. I try to stay here at least once per year. The 1 bed cottage is always immaculate. homely touches like natural lavender soap, books, dvds & the cosy fire make me feel at home and like I could stay forever. The double Spa is stunningly set. With candles aroubd it for evening or try having a spa in the morning looking out to all the Bush.
Hosts are elegant and charming. Non invasive whatsoever. Can't wait til my next stay!
