We booked for two nights stays. However, the motel checked us out from our room without any attempt to contact us on day 2 when my husband and I were out enjoying a private tour of the Catlin cost. The motel staff touched all our belongings, including toiletries, packed a bag, and threw most of the fresh foods that we bought for supper for the night and breakfast for the following day. The motel blamed us for this incident simply because my husband had handed the key to the reception staff before heading out for the tour. Well, we did not ask them to check us out we asked them to keep the room key in the reception until we return from the tour. After a long conversation with the onsite manager, we finally received a room key but not the same room we stayed in on our 1st night. The manager also handed our luggage packed by a motel staff and a plastic bag with some food items that were not being thrown away for some reason. We wrote a complaint email to the management team about this incident upon returning from our holiday. However, the first and the last response that we had received was still the same, blaming us instead of apologizing. We wrote back to ask for formal apologies and compensation for the food items they have decided to throw away. But they have ignored us, and we haven't heard back from them in multiple attempts. I am very upset that the motel management still hasn't apologized, and they rather blamed the quests. This absurd thing happened in this motel. Compensate us for the foods that the birch wood manor motel arbitrarily removed when were traveling. I booked a 1bedroom apartment, but there was no bathtub. 27~29/Nov/2021…
This stay started off on a bit of a bad foot when there was a confusion over paying. I paid cash, counted it out in reception in front of the manager and left and went to my room. Some time after I was approached in the car park and told I was $50 short. I had counted the money in front of her and was sure this was not the case. Long story short, after she checked the back and reception I was made to pay the extra $50. Willing to move on and not think about it I just continued our 3 night stay. The room was nice but not in great condition given the price. Our room was cleaned to a very basic standard each day with teas refilled, but beds weren’t made and vacuuming wasn’t done. On our last afternoon I went to ask the manager for some extra tea bags and was very abruptly and accusatorially told that one of the cleaners had told her there was a towel missing from our room and she wanted me to explain where it was. I returned to the room to check this and found the ‘missing’ towel hanging on the back of the bathroom door. I returned to reception to inform the manager of this and her response was “Ok, fine”. No apology, nothing! Overall, this place is fine and in a good location for town and ammenities. But I would not stay here and again and I would not recommend it to others. I’m sure there are much better options in Invercargill.…
I arrived in the pouring rain. I had booked an upstairs room, but was offered a downstairs, which was far better for me. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Heaters were turned on before I went into the room. The room was very clean and the bed was so comfortable, I actually slept until 8.30am and I am a 6.00 am riser. When I go back to Invercargill I will definitely stay there again.
A spacious unit with separate lounge and bedroom, as well as separate toilet and bathroom, made for easy living/work and tv watching, etc [tv in both main rooms]. Lovely shower. Bed a bit small, but we slept very soundly. Thank you.
Great to be able to spread out here! Nice rooms, spacious bathroom, comfy bed. A full sofa, coffee table and full dining table. Very easy and friendly checkin and easy to use laundry. Right across from supermarket, doesn’t get much better!
