Detailed Reviews
Easy to find, nice entrance shelter from the rain, wind. Easy check in, all on one level. Friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant, bar inside building. Room was excellent. Queen and single bed in same room, separate toilet which is a big plus. Just can’t stand the toilet in the bathroom but so many places are like that, even the best accommodation. Could whinge on about this but that will do. Kitchenette was great kept food costs down, eating out and buying food from corner shops, service stations and supermarkets adds up quickly. Room was spacious and clean serviced daily as desired. Plenty of room bathroom spacious spa bath shower no toilet Yay! Open area incorporated lounge, tv and kitchenette with a dining table for 6 people. Under $180 a night we travelled 22nd to 29th Dec. Booked Christmas lunch at Ascot Park this is a separate booking not included with your room but it’s easy to organise through reception best done a month or 2 before Christmas. Lunch was excellent. As mentioned earlier the rate is excellent considering the time of year and the room and facilities available. Great Wall heater in the room plus wall heaters throughout the hotel. Yes it was cool outside and a very cold wind blowing everyday we were there Value for money cosy and safe accommodation.

Had a nice one night stay in a superior apartment. It was toasty warm when we arrived, such a bonus when the weather was so bitterly cold. This was so inviting and made all the difference.
The second plus was the cleaned to perfection precision! I was so so impressed with this beautifully clean apartment. The kitchen, bathroom, loo, bedroom, sheets, bedding, EVERYTHING was sparkly clean. This was so inviting. The rooms had everything we needed, the spa bath was great.
The decor was neutral in the living room, stylish and bright in the bedroom.
The bed was made when military precision - quality bedding with extra layers available. The cushions were so soft and pretty.
If I could change two things it would be
*Later check out (11am)
*Breakfast included
I think it would be great to have some packages available.. Couple retreats with different options including late check out, dinner, and breakfast included at reasonable prices. The would definitely have me booking again in the future.
Thanks for a great stay.

As the first hotel we have ever stayed at in New Zealand, the Ascot set a high standard for being genuinely helpful and making us feel welcome. From the moment the shuttle bus came to get us from the airport to when we left for our sub-antarctic expedtion 3 days later we experienced great hospitality despite our inexperience and what must have been our endless questions.
A highlight was the well-maintained bikes (complete with helmets, quick-release wheels, padlock) which gave us the freedom to explore Invercargill at our own pace and get some exercise after hours of plane flights.

We had a 1 bedroom unit for 2 nights. The hotel looks a bit dated but in saying that our room wasnt. It was large with a kitchenette which had all the usual things you need except for a dishwasher and an oven.
In that area was a good size table with 4 chairs, a large lounge area which was nice and comfortable.
The bedroom was nicely decorated with a queen and a single bed, bed and pillows were really good it also had a TV in that room.
Bathroom was spacious with a spa bath, separate shower and plenty of space in the vanity for personal items. The toilet was separate and that had a hand basin in - bit like a powder room.
We ate at the restaurants and had good meals, staff were very friendly and helpful.
This hotel has a variety of accommodation and its huge, the first night we had some people outside somewhere who were a bit noisy but that ceased about 11pm.
Location was good - not far from Bill Richardsons Transport World and the town.
Plenty of parking near your room.

Invercargill is small and remote so you don't expect a hotel of this standard in town, but the high quality of the Ascot Park is a treat. We spent 3 nights in hotel rooms (not motel) over 2 stays and found them to be beautifully renovated and designed with extremely comfortable mattresses, 65" TVs with Sky (no Netflix), fridge and a selection of teas and coffee and hot chocolate and a massive bathroom with shower for two.
In general, the rooms are also very quiet as they have closeable sun rooms outside that insulate you from any car park noise. Sadly, a few parents unable to control their children over the Xmas period meant we had a lot of running and yelling up and down the corridors on one day.
We also dealt with management a lot to arrange a few changes to our stay and also to have something delivered to the hotel and they were completely reliable, responsive and obliging, making our trip preparation a breeze. Thank you.
If you need it, there is a 4 Square mini mart a short walk away as well as a chemist (not Sundays) and an Asian takeaway. The hotel also has a courtesy coach for free airport pickups and runs to town. The drivers were punctual and reliable so this was an added bonus especially as the hotel is a few kms out of town
All up, easy to recommend for a great stay in Invercargill.

+1
We stayed in the 3 star unit as we wanted a separate room for our 2 tween kids. Everything was spotlessly clean and had all the basic facilities. The hotel staff are by far the most friendly and really go above and beyond. When servicing our room they even put our kids special blankets and teddies nicely on the bed.
The food at Emberz restaurant is delicious and the sports bar is a great place to unwind in the afternoon after a day exploring the region. All the facilities are pristine clean.
Cant fault anything and can't wait to come back, it was a perfect stay

A last minute booking in a superior king room landed us an excellent room for the night. The weather was miserable but the hotel was warm and inviting and our room looked recently redecorated - fresh and had everything we needed. The staff were friendly and welcoming and we could park right outside our room and access it through a wee outdoor balcony. We had lunch in the bar and an evening meal in the restaurant, both were better than we expected. Thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Booked for 2 days stay.
Room was great with lovely bathroom receptionist (Neha) gave us opportunity to view room was extremely helpful and made us feel very welcome. She was training a colleague at the time we booked in.
King sized Bed very comfy.
Grounds were just beautifully kept and manicured.
We had a car park right outside our room with entrance from the room to the car which was great.
Emberz restaurant food was wonderful enjoyed my fab roast dinner.
First night in restaurant noticed quite young staff that didnt smile much or look like they were enjoying their job.
2nd night such a contrast Danni was our waitress and was training a new guy so we had first class attention all the time we were there. Danni was great as spent a little time chatting to us!
Didnt use pool or spa.
Hotel has great facilities loved the bar area with the gas fire and comfy sofas such a cool place to chill.
On site cash machine although it charges $2.50 for the priveledge.
Also vending machine with snacks in.
Would definitely stay here again if i came back.

I absolutely love this place. It’s an older premises but it just works. Totally unpretentious southern charm. The staff are accommodating and friendly, the food is delicious, and every room I’ve stayed in is always immaculate and warm (they turn the heaters on in your room for your arrival when it’s cold!) and they have electric blankets. Honestly couldn’t ask for more in a hotel.

Booked the same day after reading reviews was a great place to stay. Travelling through and wanted something good for a family of four with EV. I was lured in by pool, EV charging and modern looking rooms by photos. Communication was brilliant and the staff extra friendly and couldn’t fault them..unfortunately the $185 room was smelly (had a ozone fan running) and very hot. Wi-Fi didn’t work so I went and complained so we ended up getting moved to another wing and was given two drink vouchers and herseys chocolate for moving inconvenience. I wouldn’t suggest any rooms numbers 25ish to 40.ish - The front rooms near reception as Wi-Fi won’t work and smelt bad. Bathroom was lovely but pillows uncomfortable. Tesla charging out front so happy they could accommodate. The pool was Luke warm and had toilet paper in it so kids didn’t swim (one other main reason for booking as they had been cooped up in a car all day). Overall..amazing staff, did everything to correct things but unfortunately if you don’t like to moan you wouldn’t have been stuck with a dud room. The typical sell the bad rooms and try to get away with it. I would say value was alittle expensive for the plenty of other options in town and location but the staff definitely saved this from a 1.5 star review.

Dear Jevtash Thanks for taking the time to provide the hotel with all important feedback from your recent stay. I am disappointed we didn't hit the mark in all areas of your stay on this occasion. The Hotel has great facilities but our greatest asset is our staff and it is very pleasing to read your comments and how they back up this statement. From your review I will be looking at what we can implement to ensure similar incidents do not reoccur in the future such as extra pool checks during the holiday season. It is our goal to give all of our guest a complete experience at the Ascot Park Hotel and again it is disappointing when we miss this. I would like to personally apologise for the negative aspects of your stay and hope you enjoyed the remainder of your holiday in the South. Very Best Regards Dean Nicol

All the rooms have ensuite bathrooms 👍🛁🚽
Breakfast is a buffet type cooked $24 and Continental $18 (toast and fruit etc) I think.
