This is a reasonable option if travelling to Invercargill. It is a large hotel/motel catering to tour buses and has been around for some years. The rooms are comfortable. Staff were nice. Breakfast was fine. If you are seeking a newer hotel, try The Langlands Hotel in the city centre where we had a fantastic dinner (we did not stay there).

Together with a friend, we stayed at Ascot Park Hotel for the NZ Lions Convention. All the staff were friendly and welcoming and made us feel "at home". Nothing appeared to be a problem and at appropriate times a great selection of food was offered or available. A measure of the staff was one lady who had worked for the Trust for 27 years mostly at Ascot & although her husband had retired she continued working as she apprecciated the other staff and management. A great place to stay if you are in Invercargill.

Big sprawling property that feels motel-ish. Quiet—across from a cemetery ( but no real view of it) No safe in room but hangers attached in closet Bathroom feels like a fitness center with drain in the floor. Shampoo but no moisturizer Small flies-bugs in tub Wallpaper peeling above door in hallway Did not use spa or pool Did not eat dinner at Emberrz…breakfast was average Would not stay here again.

The hotel size is predominantly seen as a positive aspect of the property and it is lovely and quiet in the park like settings. While we don't have in rooms safes any valuable items can be stored at reception. Our helpful staff are always willing to assist with issues that arise and can be rectified during the time of your stay. The room was dirty with a lot of hair on the floor, bedding and in the bathroom. It didn't look as though it had been cleaned. When we complained the room was cleaned, but we don't know if this was their usual standard. We know there is a shortage of staff everywhere, but there needs to be some quality control before rooms are deemed ready to be occupied. We were there with a tour group, so hadn't chosen it ourselves. We thought the decor was awful, but some people liked it.

This hotel was great - everything was very good and being able to park right outside the large room was a bonus. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was also spacious and had heated towel rails and plenty of towels. All the staff were efficient and cheerful - the food and service in the restaurant was very good for dinner and breakfast.

We had very comfortable one night stay here and also ate in the sports bar. Comfortable and clean room well equipped. Spacious with a separate single bad which we didn’t use. Quick and efficient checkin. Property is a bit out of town but not an issue if you have a car. Food was good and plentiful in the sports bar, though there is continuous sports TV on in the background - we ate here for handiness and it did the job without being outstanding.

A great experience from checking in to leaving. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. A good selection of drinks at the hotel bar and at the sports bar attached to the hotel. If there was a downside, the evening meal of blue cod and chips had only three small bits of fish. However it tasted delicious. Breakfast was tasty and offered a very good selection of food.

This hotel is situated in park like grounds. We were greeted by a friendly and helpful receptionist. Plenty of parking close to our room. Lovely room. Comfy bed. Lovely white linen on the bed. Nice deep bath with shower. Easy wifi access. Food at the Emberz restaurant was varied and delicious. Staff here were friendly and helpful. Would definitely come back to stay.
