This is a relatively new hotel in Invercargill. I stayed here for one night after my holidays on Stewart Island and at Bluff. This is a luxurious hotel in central Invercargill. My room was outstanding, sublime in its elegant comfort, complete with a relaxing freestanding deep bathtub that I was able to bathe for hours in after arriving from Bluff, such a treat after days of hiking and walking on Stewart Island. The sheets, bed, coffee machine, provision of chilled water and sitting areas were superb. The staff were attentive, efficient and professional.

There were only two areas that could be improved. First my second breakfast at Brew'd (I had my first a few weeks before when I wasn't staying here), specifically the eggs benedict with smoked salmon, was extremely salty. I could taste the salt in my mouth for hours after breakfast while returning to Dunedin. Second, the window in my room couldn't be opened even though it looked as if had originally been designed for this flexibility.

I didn't go to the 360 bar on the top floor as I rarely drink alcohol and even on the rare occasions that I do I would never go to a bar by myself. However, the hotel did seem to have a strict dress code for this bar, the first time I've ever seen a dress code enforced in New Zealand. However, this is Invercargill so it is unclear how long this will last for.

The price for this level of luxury accomodation was very attractive. One would pay three times the amount I paid here to stay somewhere of an equivalent standard in Queenstown. I often go to Queenstown for luxury weekends away. However, the Langlands Hotel in Invercargill is perfectly capable of providing the same level of comfort, service and relaxation as some of the high end resorts and boutique hotels in Queenstown.

An excellent Hotel, in close proximity to bars and restaurants. Extremely friendly staff, and rooms that’s are very modern with very comfortable beds, and great walk in showers. Parking available on site for a small charge, would highly recommend this hotel.

We only had one night in Invercargill but we thoroughly enjoyed this lovely modern hotel. The welcome from the reception staff was warm, friendly and professional, we liked that we could park our car in their secure parking lot for a small fee. Our room was a good size and comfortable but it did have the cursed glass bathroom. Clear glass, with a view straight onto the toilet. It’s so stupid. This hotel has had to put curtains up so you can’t see your partner or roommate on the toilet. Also, a sliding glass door with large gaps to a bathroom does nothing to hide odours or sounds, so that was lovely. At least the shower was separate to the bath - and the shower screen was frosted and the shower door closed fully. One wonders why the toilet wasn’t put where the frosted shower stall was and the bath and shower moved around…but what would I know. Anyway, the cocktail bar on the top floor is very nice, breakfast was great, and the staff are all lovely. Recommended.

Small rooms with two queen beds not enough chair or couches to sit and relax. Had to sit on the bed to have cuppa tea. shower pressure is very low however, Glass bathrooms looked stunning and big. The pillows was so thick we couldn’t sleep the whole night and slept without pillows that could’v have Some opinions with thinner one. The stuff was very friendly at arrival no asking questions about our stay at reception when we lift.
We have tried breakfast at BREWD four different meals but the taste was awful. Had to order different meal from menu but turned out exactly the same horrible taste and lack of presentation, never ever go back to that cafe.

Overall our stay at hotel was great experience very very clean and pleasant for our family two nights. It was modern room and good set up everything was working perfectly. The parking was very safe with lockable gates. Will definitely stay again.

Thanks for sharing your feedback and I am disappointed to read. Had we had some of this feedback during your stay, we could have rectified these points for a more enjoyable stay. The team would have happily added extra chair to your room, we do have spares by the lift. We have porters available that would have popped one in your room for your comfort. We do get great feedback about the pillows, but we understand everyone has different requirements. We have thinner pillows available when required. I am sorry to read about your cafe experience, was this mentioned to the team at the time as they would have helped you select something enjoyable or compensated you. I have not had feedback before that the meals are horrible and awful. It would have been helpful to get more information about this and given the chance to fix it. I am pleased the parking and modern rooms were positive points to your stay. Best regards Alannah and the team

The Langlands hotel may be modern in appearance but is definitely old fashioned in service.
I was in Invercargill for a short visit that involved meeting with several local business identities.
We tried to order coffee and a hot chocolate at 10.30pm in the 360 bar, but were informed that the coffee machine had been shut down for the night.
Following that I tried to purchase a bottle of wine for my room only to be informed that this premium hotel does not have a liquor licence that allows this.
I visit Invercargill on a regular basis but will never stay at the Langlands again.

Dear Wanderer, I too am disappointed after learning of your less than exceptional experience while staying with us. We have certainly taken your feedback on board to learn from as we continue to develop our team. We absolutely should have been able to deliver on all your requests. I do hope we may have the opportunity to prove ourselves sometime in the future. Kind regards Bryan and the Team.

My first visit to the 360º bar on the terrace of the Langlands hotel has been very sad and unfortunate. We invited a friend who was visiting from Vienna, Austria and as a tourist he is accustomed to wearing weather-appropriate clothing. We were wanting to sit on the terrace and we were asked to leave the premises. Our friend from Austria was wearing new linen shorts properly combined with a dressing shirt and designer shoes on a hot 28 degree summer day. Since when is this considered inappropriate attire for a cocktail with friends? I find these policies ridiculous and unnecessary and I'm afraid I won't be recommending this place to those close to me. It’s a real pity, with it being a new place that needs to be made known in such a small city. There is a dress code, agreed, but not all shorts or shirts should be judged without criteria.

I was disappointed to read your review advising of the less than favorable experience you and your friends had when wishing to visit our 360 Bar. We have taken your feedback on board and will reassess how we manage our dress standards for the 360 Bar. Hopefully we may have an opportunity to be of service in the future. Kind regards Bryan Townley Executive Manager.

I arrived in Invercargill after driving down from Mount Cook, the first thing that struck me was how well located it was, on the main road.
I was welcomed at reception and was offered valet parking service, now this is something I don't usually avail myself of, but as I was in a hire car it was gratefully accepted, even the concierge luggage service was something I am not accustomed to being offered.
And then the room, most exceptional, the bathroom inside the 'gold fish bowl' was inspirational - double shower, double sink, bath and toilet - all with a clear view of the night lights of the city.
Had an excellent meal in the hotel restaurant served by a caring team.
Highly recommended, I'm not planning another NZ visit, but if I do this will be a must come back to location.

We decided to treat our family to a little “staycation” in order to celebrate at Birthday and we are so glad we did!

Such an amazing experience in a top class facility that oozes quality everywhere you look.

Staff were attentive, friendly and generally fantastic at assisting when/where needed.

Rooms were immaculate, beds were luxurious and even from the 3rd floor the views were on point.

We shared food & drink in the downstairs house bar and the exceptional quality has to be commended.

We also enjoyed a stroll around nearby Street Art locations which was something very unique and lends itself well to the great location of this facility (and it’s free).

Overall you simply have to stay to experience the grandeur of this hotel for yourself. You could easily be forgiven for thinking you’ve been whisked away to the hustle and bustle of a big city but thankfully that endless quality resides in little old Invercargill.

Fantastic experience and will most definitely be staying again.

As a solo traveller I felt very comfortable staying at this hotel. The location is very central for shopping, cafes, restaurants etc & the car parking is convenient & safe. My room on the third floor was spacious & well appointed. The bed was extremely comfortable & I felt that the pure wool throw was a nice touch. The plunger coffee was also appreciated. I stayed on a Tuesday evening when there was only one restaurant available - I found that to be a little disappointing. However I could not fault the service & enjoyed the food & felt very well looked after.

I travel to Invercargill 3-4 times a year for work and the accommodation options have always been limited. However finally there is a hotel that would make me look forward to my trips here - the Langlands. It has a lovely bright welcoming foyer and is centrally located. The rooms are large and modern. The downstairs bar and restaurant are bright and welcoming and whether it was breakfast or dinner, I felt welcome even as a solo diner. This is a top hotel and Invercargill deserves it!
