A wonderful place where owner and staff take pride in providing a lovely comfortable clean environment and all amenities. As an older solo traveller I was welcomed with lots of local advice and information and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed the homey feel. The lodge is clean and the hosts: Carol and Lindsay were very friendly. Carol was very helpful with tips of places to visit. The breakfast was great. In the evening, we could lounge in the living room and make tea or coffee. We stayed 2 nights at the beginning of our stay in Invercargill and decided to stayed another 3 nights at the end of our trip because we needed to relax. Carol makes you feel like family.

We are glad that we were able to provide you both with a comfortable homely environment, so that you could relax and catch up on emails and planning your trip back home. We booked the lodge for our stay in Invercargill. There were 8 people in our group and we stayed for 4 nights. The lodge was clean and tidy and the rooms were a really good size. Some of the rooms have ensuites and they are also a really good size. All the facilities were great, large lounge area ideal for groups to gather and a smaller lounge area for getting away.
The arrangements for breakfast are ideal with a good selection of cereals and fruit along with yogurt and milk. Add to this toast with a selection of spreads what more could you need.
The hosts and staff were very friendly and helpful and we would certainly recommend this as a place to stay. Great off street parking available all the time.

Carol went above and beyond to make me feel at home while I traveled through here solo. Everything felt very clean, and the bed was especially nice and cozy. Would definitely stay here again on return trips to Invercargill.

Just happened to be within walking distance of the family get-together, and what a great find. Great Host, comfortable room with ensuite, and just a home away from home. Can't recommend it enough. May many more find this great place.

We stayed for one night in Lovett Lodge which is a little bit far away from downtown of Invercargill. The accommodation is rather old but this is okay.

As the lodge wasn’t fully booked a complimentary upgrade was given to us. However rooms are rather small compared to other accommodations we had during our trip.

The advantages of the motel are as follows:
- Tasteful and complimentary breakfast
- Free WLAN
- Nice owner

For a stopover the Lovett Lodge is pretty good.

Thank you for choosing to stay at Lovett Lodge B&B. We aim to provide warm & friendly hospitality, complimentary continental breakfast that I'm glad you enjoyed. We are in the process of refurbishing the complete Lodge including all the bathrooms and guest lounge and dining room areas, having completed four of our rooms including the two ensuite rooms so far. Thus enhancing our guests stay & adding even better value for money.

A rest home in an earlier life, Lovett Lodge is just off the main highway north (State Highway 6) heading toward Lumsden and Queenstown in Duke Street. This is just three blocks north of the delightful Queens Park. Visiting in mid-November, the nights were still chilly enough for the management to be running the boiler that feeds the radiators in the rooms and corridors, so it was very snug. Room 8 was perfect. A nice comfy and warm single bed, and a writing desk that was big enough for a lap top. Connecting to the free wireless internet was simply a case of typing in the code. For backpackers or those going tramping, the in-room radiators can be used for drying damp clothes, so that is a bonus and at $65 per night (including a Continental breakfast), it was a bargain. The large lounge and sunroom were also very comfy and for the nerds there's a communal PC which some young fellow was playing computer games on for hours on end. The welcome is a typically warm Southland one and Marie could not do enough for us. Oh, and there's a cute black kitten that is as friendly as its owners.

Great single room size. I'm glad I wasn't near the fire door or bathroom door because they were squeaky. Loves the warmth of the radiant hearing it warmed the whole house. However found the dinning room a little cool for this time of year. Bathroom facilities were a good size and clean. For the age of the house it accommodated our purpose. The weather was typical winter mornings cold and frosty but the days were sunny and warm. I would recommend staying at Lovette Lodge Duke Street Invercargill.

Thanks for review Raewyn - love having groups like you girls to stay and completely fill lodge. Makes mixing together in large guest lounge welcoming and friendly. We like to think the lodge is 'home away from home'. You are all very welcome to return again sometime.

We were members of a large family group that stayed here over the Christmas period. Lovett Lodge is ideal accommodation for groups similar to ours. We had three couples, two of whom had young children and a single adult. We had the choice of rooms and there were plenty of showers and toilet facilities throughout. There was a fully stocked laundry and kitchen as well as a comfortable lounge and sun room.

Location was good although access to the city needed your own transport. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We all found the beds comfortable and there was plenty of car parking at the rear.
