Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have been staying at the Euro for the last 8 months during the week while on contract in Dunedin. What an amazing place to stay... right in the heart of Dunedin right in amongst the restaurants and shops on George St, a stone throws away from the famous octagon. Joanne and George and all the staff made me feel welcome and worked around my every need and made me feel like I was part of the family. The rooms are top class with granite benchtops and stone tiled bathrooms and kept so clean, Im going to miss coming home to clean crisp sheets every night, such a nice space!!! Can't wait to visit Dunedin again!!

Don’t stay here while road works in George St are being completed as there are trucks, diggers and heavy machinery right outside your window. Workers start at 5am so no chance of a sleep in! Limited access to the parking at the rear also as you have to drive through the construction site. No mention of road works on their website so would not have stayed here if this was advertised.

I'm afraid the 315euro did not leave us with a good impression. In fact, the whole experience was very not good:( As out of country visitors we found it extremely frustrating just to find the place!) Between the lack of signage and road work going on it took us 45 minutes to finally locate the place:( Then we had to find the reception area, (if you can call it that). It was merely a front desk with no one at the desk, we had to ring for that....then the actual hotel was outside bordering a large parking lot and in another building. Our rooms were very basic, concrete walls, it seemed old and run down, more like a student's dorm?? We would NOT recommend this place to anyone unless they were desperate.

We stayed for three nights as part of a South Island touring holiday. Our room was clean and well-appointed. The location was very central and convenient. We were especially impressed with the very friendly and hospitable lady at reception. We asked about nearby laundry facilities and were invited to use the hotel’s facilities, plus she folded and bagged our washing later and returned it to us.

Stayed two nights at this hotel which is located right in the CBD with an easy walk to the Dunedin Railway Station and Octagon where many cafes and restaurants are located. The hotel is situated down an alleyway but instructions received in an email from the hotel prior to arrival explained in detail how to get to the hotel. Our room was a good size with a king-sized bed along with a single bed. It was clean and serviced promptly each morning. The staff are friendly and reception suggested we have breakfast at The Good Oil just across the road. Would definitely recommend this hotel to other travellers.

We arrived Christmas Day and spend 3 nights at this motel. Dont judge a book by its cover as the rooms are much better than the place looks from the outside. We didnt have any noise issues in our room. Room was modern clean and comfortable. Hosts were friendly and helpful when approached. Location is in town so you walk down the entrance and you are spoilt for choices. Its a great base to explore Dunedin.

On the good side - easy checkin - Spacious room - central city location - free parking - proximity to The Good Oil cafe - best choice and food - great for business travellers On the not so good side - very very soft bed - we were in the oldest part near George St. It was very noisy Friday night and on Saturday night so bad we had to close the window and use a fan to cool the room.

This accommodation option is centrally and convenient located within walking distance of Octagon etc. it is a weird complex of modernised small apartments that are clean and neat but with no ambience. Best I can say is clean and basic. The complex is higgelty piggelty , pokey and weird car parking through a lane way. When we checked in there were skateboarders hooning around noisily. See photos for further observations

Our room was well presented, modern, exceptionally clean, very quiet even though the motel was in the centre of the main street shopping area. Double glazing certainly worked, no noise what so ever. This was ideal for us as we needed it to be close to the hospital. The receptionist was very pleasant and showed us to our room and explained everything to us regarding the complex and our room. Even our vehicle was under cover. Very affordable. We have stayed in many motels over the years and this one will now be our 'go to' motel when next staying in Dunedin.
