Detailed Reviews
Nice modern hotel.
Spacious rooms. Modern & clean.
Bed was very comfortable.
Big screen tv with good selection of channels.
Good location close to countdown, new world & eateries. Walking distance to the Octagon.
Stayed here for two night. Probably the only downfall would be housekeeping.
We left our room in the morning and the team were making their rounds. When we returned later that afternoon, housekeeping was done but our rooms were never serviced. Note: Reception is not 24hrs here so be sure to request any toiletries before they close.
Overall, this is a very nice hotel & would stay here again.

Found the Quest Hotel to be very conveniently located in Dunedin for a weekend stay. Our room was clean, spacious and provided all we needed for our all too brief visit to the city.
The hotel is in easy walking from the central city with off street parking available. Recommended.

Stayed in many Quests previously and this is on par with the rest of the range. Nice spacious rooms and clean facilities, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Beds are comfy and the addition of a washer and dryer is a HUGE plus as well as kitchen facilities such as plates, microwave and stove top. These are becoming more and more rare!
As for the downsides the after hours check in is horrendous. There wasn't any information provided prior to arrival and the front desk closes at around 6pm depending on the day. To gain entry into the building you need to call the head office phone number to have them buzz you in (Which the door doesn't seem to always open so you end up waiting outside the door in the cold calling them back multiple times just to get in) then you have to hang up and call them back from an internal phone as they won't provide you with any information on the call from your phone. Once you're inside and calling on the internal phone you then have to call them multiple times again from the internal phone even though you've just spoken to them 20 seconds ago as they don't always answer. I've stayed at hundreds of hotels previously and I've never experienced such a painful and convoluted check in experience that takes no less than 5 phone calls and two different phones just to check in.
Bit of noise as well from across the road due to the major construction the city is doing but it's not something that was a real issue. Just something to be mindful of.
Overall if you can get passed the short comings of the after hours check in experience it's a great place to stay in a really great location. Clean and spacious rooms with nice friendly staff. I would highly recommend it!

Room #113
Location is amazing.
Hotel parking was worth the hassle free parking for $12:50
Cecelia's knowledge at reception about what to do and where to go was legendary.
Apartment was extremely well supplied with all you need when away from home including washer and dryer.
Room was private but also the privacy blinds were great.
All in all a 1st Class stay and we would book here again without any doubts...
Keep up the good work.

Our family of 2 adults and 2 children booked a 2 bedroom apartment for two nights at the conclusion of the Otago Rail Trail. We needed clean and comfortable accommodation with washing facilities in a central location. The Quest ticked all these boxes however we did feel very let down about the substantial traffic noise (Cumberland St is a major highway), lack of air conditioning (to drown out the traffic) and the fact that the apartment is not actually two bedrooms but two adjoining apartments. According to the check in receptionist this ‘isn’t an issue for other parents’. However this means that the fire doors have to be jammed open during the night with magazines (no door stops provided) and the hallway light can’t be turned off!! We felt we had no other option as didn’t want to run the risk of a child waking in the night and not being able to get to us without a key. We also had a few minor housekeeping issues which we resolved ourselves. We did also note the filthy bathroom blind and dirty curtains (traffic grime). The price of $750 for two nights was, we feel, very high. We would not stay at this apartment again

Awesome reception service, checked us in before 12pm, and gave us recommendations on what to do. We thought we might stay another night and reception held the only room left for us until 4pm. The room was clean and functional and had good amenities, loved the biscuits and tissues. Couple small things, the coffee bags arent stellar quality and a 10am checkout is tight for a lazy Sunday morning. Parking is only $15, for secure parking, great value. Thanks team.

I stayed recently on a one night work trip. I arrived later than expected and was kindly helped by another guest to access the building and find my welcome pack with the room key etc. I had booked a car park in advance (highly recommended you do this if you have a car) and it was no hassle at all. The room was clean and tidy with everything I needed. A good sized kitchenette, free and usable wifi and two desk options for the work i needed to do. On a cold Dunedin night it was so appreciated to arrive to a room with the lamps on and heater warming the room to a nice temperature. The bed was huge and pillows comfortable. I will most definitely be staying here again if I'm in town for work again.

The building is on a busy road and very noisy. We arrived after 4pm and the reception was closed. We couldn’t check in using the intercom provided because the road noise was so bad we couldn’t hear. When we eventually got into our room we were on level 1 at the front - less than 10m from the traffic. We left and forfeited the charge. Uninhabitable.

We had a great experience at Quest Invercargill so the next night were keen to stay at the Quest Dunedin. I rang on the drive to Dunedin to book a one bedroom apartment and was told the reservation staff were busy but someone would call me back. 20 minutes later still no call so I rang again and asked for reservations. The woman who answered said I had reception so I explained I had already left a message and was trying to book a room. She asked my name and checked my phone number which I confirmed. She promised to check and call me back in 5 minutes. That was about 5 hours ago. Appalling lack of courtesy and service. We booked in somewhere else really nice and have no regrets we drove straight past the Quest on our arrival into Dunedin.

What a wonderful hotel, really well situated for the centre of town and close to all the main attractions. It’s also next door to the Countdown where the Intercity bus stop is. The staff were all incredibly lovely, especially when my flights were cancelled due to Cyclone Gabrielle Cecillia sorted me out a room for an extra night. As a solo traveller there is nothing better than knowing that the staff have your back if you need them. The room was large and clean with all the amenities you would need. I would 100% recommend staying here and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again myself. Thanks guys!

Hi there, the shower was a cubicle shower by itself... roomy with great hot water pressure. No bathtub.
