What a comfortable clean and welcoming place to stay! Michael and his staff are charming friendly and helpful too. I was also pleasantly surprised as to how quiet our apartment was considering it is on the Main Street in Dunedin, just 10 minutes stroll from the Botanical Gardens and 15 minutes from the main downtown CBD. If you want a quiet and comfortable place to stay in Dunedin, 858 George Street would be the place!

This is a really good motel. The rooms are built in the form of suites - two rooms upstairs and down, with a downstairs sitting room. Everything that could be expected was provided, including a fresh bottle of milk instead of the horrible little sachets that all others give. We arrived on a cold winter's evening and the rooms had been pre-warmed for us. The hosts, Sally and Michael are warm, friendly and obliging. They are good ambassadors for their wonderful city. Michael went out of his way to help with a request we made. It is a little way out of town, but worth the additional effort. The highest recommendation.

If customer service is important to you then honestly you can’t go wrong, I was a north islander freaking out it was going to be too cold. Floor heating in bathroom. When u turn the light on the heater turns to. I did query the blinds they were so hard to pull down. AGAIN he came up sorted the blinds in a sec with no fuss, after my small rant he even stated he would put a page in the hotel Manuel that shows us not so handy people how to use them. They were just honestly so friendly and genuine. importantly the bed was honestly so comfy. The most important the place was sparkling clean. You guys deserve this review.

The people working here are very friendly and helpful to advise you on whatever you need. Our room was very spacious, seemed very well looked after. Breakfast is brought to your room every day so you can have a calm breakfast yourself. I can't really think of any critique. I would totally recommend this place.

We were a group of five mature women sightseeing in Otago. We had prebooked tours and accommodation. Our hosts at 858 George Street were most helpful and welcoming, giving as local information, making telephone calls on our behalf to confirm the tours, ordering taxis for us and providing a comfortable waiting area after check-out time. We thank them. Our rooms were immaculate and comfortable.

We cannot say enough about this perfect accommodation. We had been in hotels throughout NZ before coming to Dunedin to see family. It felt like home. Welcoming, friendly, clean, comfortable, all the things we’d missed. Sufficient parking, laundry facilities, lovely landscaping, cool breezes. We will definitely stay here again, and highly recommend to anyone visiting Dunedin.

Friendly host, super helpful. Clean and comfortable 1 bedroom motel (second bed in the sitting room area). Off street parking, on site guest laundry. Close to the University and city center. Great sized bathroom, great water pressure. Would definitely recommend and will stay there again.

Sally Michael and Natarsha are wonderful hosts. We stayed 5 nights in the townhouse nearest the street. Accommodation was very comfortable. Great kitchen and very comfortable beds. Everyone was very helpful and interested in what we were doing. Highly recommend

We had such a loverly stay, having a little bit of extra space meant we could all hangout together. Warm, clean and well appointed room in a great location. Easy car parking. Loads of space in the bedrooms and the living area was a bonus for us as we had family stay close by
