What a great location this hotel turned out to be. Within walking distance of the city centre and shopping areas. Speights just around the corner with some other city sights also within walking distance. The Hotel history was an interesting addition. Our room was comfortable, facilities were modern and the bed was so comfortable. We enjoyed wonderful service and hospitality from all the staff we dealt with. We were extremely happy with the very helpful Chief Concierge who assisted with booking a fabulous tour for us.
Everything was lovely - from the friendly service (they happily retrieved my mobile phone from the valet parked car I had left it in) to the extremely comfortable beds and lovely bath products and perfectly made flat white at breakfast. If the fish burger is on the menu, I recommend it (especially if you are returning from a big hike like I was and are hungry). I hope I'll be back.
Firstly the good differences: valet parking. I thought I would hate this. I loved it. Car got its windscreen cleaned and little water bottles for the trip home as well as being brought round whenever we needed it. Night light mode in room and toilet. Every hotel should have this. Also auto light in wardrobe. Brilliant. Coffee pod machine. Nice shampoo and soaps and no waste as they are big bottles. Lovely everything and spotless. Maintenance is done relentlessly and it shows. Continental breakfast you can pick 4 items and a small juice. Not including tea and coffee when you get such nice ones in your room seems pointlessly mean when everything is so gorgeous. Service is exemplary and unlike every other hotel at the moment they didn't cut something due to Covid isolations. Maybe just luck, maybe better planning. Others have mentioned street noise, but I didn't notice it.…
We had a lovely 2 night stay at Fable Dunedin. Comfortable, well appointed rooms with delicious breakfast. Staff were friendly and professional ensuring we had everything we needed for our stay. Thanks Fable Dunedin Team! Was lovely to have a good experience for our first stay in Dunedin
