We had the pleasure to stay 2 nights in Hazels B&B. The hosts took really good care of us, with helpful information and an amazing breakfast!
The room was perfect and we had a private separate bathroom that was really big. We recommend it so much!

Unfortunately we weren't able to stay at the Hazel house this time, but were delighted with the friendly and warm person (Sandy) who was very understanding of our situation when we had to call to cancel at the last minute. We are so appreciative of their understanding, and definitely will be staying there on our next trip to Dunedin!

We only stayed one night in this comfortable B&B. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. The house is beautiful. Our room was very comfortable. The bathroom was not ensuite, that was the only disadvantage. Breakfast was very nice in the sitting room, with a view on the city and the sea. We would have stayed longer if possible!

Thank you for your comment. It was lovely to have you stay and we are so pleased you enjoyed our house. Some people book the ensuite room, some the larger King room with private bathroom. That has the separate bath for relaxing, as well as the shower. It's good to have the choice. On holidays it is so hard to see everything, and it just isn't possible to stay longer everywhere. But an extra night in Dunedin means you can enjoy the city and also experience the wildlife on our stunning Otago Peninsula. Thank you for choosing to stay at Hazel House. Warm regards Sandy & Brent

We have been travelling in NZ for 6 weeks and Hazel house was just the kind of stay we liked best. Beautiful old house, situated well close to both the city and beaches. Clean, great breakfasts and well taken care of by Brent and Sandy, we also had nice discussions and great laughs!
Our room was the best, comfortable bed and real nice bathroom. We surely would recommend anyone to stay here.

A lovely turn of the 20th century house with a great view of the city and harbour and delightful hosts Sandy and Brent. Nothing was too much trouble and the attention to detail was outstanding. They were the perfect hosts, friendly but not intrusive. We both slept so well in the bed that my husband raved about the comfort of the bed for the next day. The free wi fi was a pleasant and very welcome surprise. We'll definitely be back.

My mother and I fell in love with it!
The house is so beautiful, so well restaured..! The rooms are spacious and really cosy at the same time, the bathroom is a-ma-zing, with shower and a great bathtub, an amazing living room with everything you need (and more!), complemented with a breath-taking view to the city and impressive sunrise! They even have a jaccuzzi (wich we didn't try, unfortunately...)
The last drop of "amazing-ness" was the kindness and reception of the hosts. Can't put it in words!
We just wish to be able to return there once again...

We spent 2 nights at Hazel House and could not have made a better choice in Dunedin. The house is lovely with spacious rooms and a comfortable guest lounge. We had the King Room with private bathroom which was huge and very well appointed. Brent and Sandy were perfect hosts, friendly and attentive, and a mine of local information on sights and places to eat. The location is good too, close to the city centre yet off the main road and convenient for reaching the Otago Peninsula. Breakfasts were excellent with plenty of choice, and our stay was very good value for money. We would recommend Hazel House very highly.

Brent and Sandy are very welcoming and caring. we only stayed there 1 night, but we felt like at home, lovely house. Breakfast is good too. We didn't get a chance to get out for dinner that night so we just ate some of our leftovers, Sandy and Brent prepared some cheese and crackers and some fruits for us and kept asking if we were okay or hungry. I really felt they are very caring people. Thanks Sandy and Brent!

It was lovely having you stay. It's always hard planning holidays to have enough time to see everything. You always need more time. Dunedin needs at least 2 nights but then it has to fit in with the whole trip. Pleased you enjoyed your short stay. Maybe we will see you again one day. Thank you for your review Warm regards Sandy & Brent

This is a delightful B&B run by a delightful couple, Sandy and Brent Ward, who have an extensive knowledge of the area. You are greeted with tea, cookies and a smile, the fridge in the guest lounge had complimentary beer and wine. The room has a huge comfy bed with crisp white sheets great storage and en-suite.

The location is outside the city centre, but don't let that worry you. There are a number of restaurant's located about 10-15 mins stroll on the esplanade where you can have a relaxed evening meal overlooking the Pacific.

Breakfast is continental and plentiful.

If you are looking for somewhere in this area to rest up for a night or two then look no further than Hazel House.

Thanks for your kind words. So pleased you enjoyed your stay too. We love the restaurants at St Clair and being only 3 minutes drive, or a short stroll, it is ideal. A very popular area for food in Dunedin. There is the choice of continental or cooked breakfasts. I love the fresh fruit salads! Dunedin has so much to see. With Hazel House only 5 minutes from the Octagon, the centre of town, or 3 minutes to the start of the peninsula, it is ideally situated. Just out of the city noise, quiet, yet only minutes away. Amazing sun rises recently. Great to see. Warm regards Sandy & Brent

Thanks for coming and for your positive words. We want it to feel like home away from home, with comforts and help at hand. We are half way through winter and the weather is still mild. I guess another cold patch will be ahead of us. Just pruned the roses and we're looking forward to the joys of spring. So glad you enjoyed your stay at Hazel House and in Dunedin.
