My partners mother had a fall and she asked the manager if they could move to the ground floor apartment. He answered that he might want to rent it out to someone else. She found the manager rude and unhelpful and as they could not stay she had to go elsewhere. On later contact the manager refused to give even a partial refund of the tariff . She had been polite and was not expecting a rude and unhelpful attitude. Would not recommend this property.

Although I live in Dunedin, sometimes I like to get out of my house for a night to try somewhere new - particularly if I have not had the chance to travel for a while. I'd walked past the Chapel Apartments many times, so when a good price came up, I decided to check the place out. Check in was simple - I was texted a code to gain access to my room (no staff was onsite while I was there). The nature of the building means that every room will be different - I was in room #2. The room was a really good size - it was really two rooms: a downstairs lounge with the bedroom upstairs. This created the only downside - to go up, there is a narrow spiral staircase, and the bathroom is up there as well. Not a problem for me but it would be for someone who has mobility problems. In the

This is an excellent base to explore the city from. Two minutes walk from the central octagon. Can be a little noisy at night, but has music system in the bedroom to enjoy. (Earplugs in the bathroom if you need them) Great place to discover the city from.

Stayed 4 nights with friends...we were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary...we met in Dunedin all those years ago and wanted to return to where it all began!!! Putting apartments inside an old chapel is amazing...so interesting to walk in & see the timber ceiling & stained glass windows above the roof of the apartments. We had apartment 6...at the end of the hall....2 bedrooms and bathrooms downstairs and living etc upstairs. Weirdly, the laundry facilities were in the back of a small walk-in closet in one of the bedrooms. There was a shelf over the washer and we couldn’t raise the lid...a call to the manager and we learned we had to lift the shelf. Maybe a note in there would be helpful for those who don’t realise the shelf can be tilted up. Other than that small issue,

The accommodation was recommend by a local company and it was a great surprise to find some lovely rooms inside a beautiful old church. The rooms are very modern, clean, very comfortable and so close the main eatery's town. Recommend for a great place to stay.
