I was excited to stay here as the pictures looked awesome. Well not so much. We stayed in room 5. Two small bedrooms downstairs with a bath each and the living area upstairs. The bedrooms were tiny and pretty dark and dingy. The bathrooms even more so. Our bathroom had a full body shower massage that didn’t work so that was unfortunate. The manager was also not very friendly when I had called to get clarification on which room we had. I had an email that said room 4 but the board had room 5 written down. When I called to verify which room he spoke to me pretty condescendingly which I did not appreciate. The good it’s location. Oh and the washer and dryer. However if you don’t need a washer and dryer stay somewhere else less expensive.
Stayed in Apartment 2, large, reflective of a dark chapel with fantastic stone wall, accomodates 5+ comfortably. Car park right outside front door and gold star location for central Dunedin. Nice to have open doors onto small patio from kitchen for fresh air as very damp and musty smelling inside. Mould growing on carpet under couch which management dealt with promptly, Appears to need a good refurbishment; carpets & couches worn, plumbing fixtures not sucure, oven smelt like fish, rubbers in dishwasher falling out. Bedrooms could do with black out blinds as ventians substandard. Was sdvised apartment was having plastering / painting work so possibly a reduction in price to compensate this would have been appreciated as $460 a night was alot for the state it was in.. Stayed 4…
Lovely people running this place; good central location just off the Octagon. But the studio room we were in was too small, too cramped, nowhere to put luggage, broken curtains (which were to be attended to), and bed crammed up against a wall. I understand the bigger apts were better.
Very central location with parking. We had apartment 4 - two big bedrooms each with bathroom plus a large upstairs living/cooking area. Well equipped and the laundry facilities were a bonus. Quite expensive but worth it for the location and space.
Centrally located, easy walk from train. Close to restaurants. Beds very comfortable. Excellent hot showers. Unstaffed, front door open all night - is this normal in a CBD? Phone hotline to manager to check things didn’t seem to work. Lacking in clear information/guidance - eg what to do with room key on checkout, so left it where we found it in the room door. WiFi on and off - always seemed to come back. Stayed in apartment 4. Upstairs living area is open & spacious. Bedrooms are downstairs and some found them claustrophobic given the lack of a window/natural light. All up, fine for an overnight stay - interesting and different.
