Detailed Reviews
The Beechwood Motel is certainly not the cheapest accommodation you'll find in Dunedin, but there is a long list of lovely little touches that make it worth it. The friendly host that helped us when we walked in to enquire, the top quality appliances, the delightfully scented toiletries, the super comfortable furniture, pillows and cushions, the Cookie Time cookies with the tea and coffee! The unit was just a relief to walk into after a long day. If you're not travelling on a super tight budget, I wholeheartedly recommend this place.

The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. It had a modern kitchen and Bathroom, in fact the whole suite was modernised/renovated. I would definitely recommend staying here. Off street parking and located very close to the University (if dropping students off) and short drive (or a slightly longer walk) to the Octagon.

This was one of the best places we stayed during a 3 week trip to New Zealand. We enjoyed 3 nights in an upstairs Executive King Studio and loved the clean, bright, spacious room. The bed was comfy, large sofa for watching TV, and nice modern kitchen and bathroom. The area was very quiet during our stay. Being able to park near our room (free!) was great. We really appreciated the warm welcome and help with local site-seeing, restaurants, etc from the awesome hosts Sally & Michael. We would definitely stay here again.

We spent 2 nights here in a 1 bedroom apartment - it has been renovated beautifully and was spotlessly clean. There is everything you need where you need it, and we really enjoyed our stay. We had to change our booking and they were so friendly and helpful, really easing our stress and going above and beyond what they had to do. We hope to stay here next time we are in Dunedin, and highly recommend it.

We booked 2 nights here in in 1 Bedroom Appartment. The room was very large, clean, and modern. Only downside was our particular room was not very private; it was on ground floor just across from lobby/office and anyone there can look right into your living room (so we kept the blinds closed, which was fine for our short stay). It was also very windy, and the rose bush outside our bedroom window banged on glass all night (pruning would fix this). I would certainly stay hear again, but would try to get 2nd floor next time.

This is a very good motel. The rooms a spotless with lovely light and fresh decor. The room we had had a seperate bedroom with a very comfortable bed, a lovely well appointed bathroom a well appointed small kitchenette with some cooking facilities. A full sized corner lounge and a single bed in the main room. There was good lighting for reading and a table and three chairs. The lady in reception was extremely friendly and helpful. I really couldn’t find any negatives for this stay.

We loved it here!!! Owners were so friendly and helpful and easy to deal with. Our unit was exceptionally clean, comfortable and homely. We wanted for nothing. Sally treats people as if they are staying in her own home. She adds her personal touch with the small but very beautiful gardens attached to each unit. The location was really handy.

+1
Booked a one-bedroom apartment for my family of 3 and asked for a baby cot. The room was spacious, clean and tidy from check in to daily cleaning. Staff were generally professional and friendly. They gave valuable advices on attractions, supermarket and whereabouts.
Laundry and drying available at NZ$4 each only. Heating available in the unit when it’s getting cold at the time of visit.
Bathroom can have more racks and space for placing clothes temporarily for shower and a small table or tray for putting accessories like phones and rings etc.
Think it’s definitely one of the best choices for accommodation in Dunedin.

Beautifully presented, well equipped and immaculately clean. The hosts were welcoming, caring and made it feel like a home away from home. Fantastic shower and comfortable bed! Pleasant walking distance to Hospital, shopping area, and Botanic Gardens. I would highly recommend.

As long term guests at 858 Motel, we were sad to see we had booked too late and could not have a room there...
However we were thrilled and excited to stay at the beautifully refurbished Beechwoods next door!! So spacious, modern and new! Lovely little outdoor spot for a glass of wine in the evening sun.
Best of all...Michael and Sally (858 Fame) are our hosts at Beechwoods too! They are the most amazing hosts ever. Cannot do enough for their guests!
Parking is secure and private. Great location on George Street.
But book early!! They are SO popular!

My review was written and posted on 25th December, and reads as follows:
It is rare to find a place where the photos are exceeded by the "real thing".
Beechwood Boutique Accommodation is as close to perfection as you could ever wish to experience. Every aspect of the property, the staff and the fine details of extravagance made this four night stay one to remember, for all the right reasons. Thank you.
So hitabomb, I don't see what your issue is. Pull your head in and learn to read...and yes, I am Australian.
