Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

PROS: The setting of these cabins and campground is lovely, being in a green area right next to a walking track with access to Dunedin's green belt (for running, walking, biking). It is also close to both the botanical gardens and town (about a 30min walk away). CONS: The Lockwood-style cabins have no wall insulation, meaning you hear EVERYTHING from next door. They all appear to be in dire need of refurbishment, with the carpets being worn and stained, and the 2-person settee being so covered with marks that it is not an attractive option to sit on. The bathroom and kitchenette are adequate, but small enough that you wouldn't want to spend too much time there, while the 'lounge/dining area is also pretty small and unfunctional (with the couch being placed underneath the wall-mounted tv). Even the Wifi had an intermittent connection at night, and the tv box needed resetting a couple of times to activate the service. I would hesitate to recommend the cabins to anyone wanting a quality stay.

Stayed for 2 nights February 2024. The location is very good for exploring Dunedin. It takes around 30 minutes walk to reach the Octagon. You can pick up a bus from the main road too, which is approx 10 mins walk from the campsite. The bathrooms were clean and the price per night was fair. The Botanical Gardens are a short walk away and we were impressed with them. Dunedin as a whole was a super stop on our trip and the Otago Peninsula is absolutely fantastic!

Nice park with laundry, well equipped kitchen, and clean bathrooms. We were in unpowered site with small campervan. Reservation system worked fine, and check in was easy. Only complaint would be that for this price, why charge extra for billiards?

Leith Valley Park provided an average stay during my recent visit. The accommodations were decent but didn't particularly stand out. While the surroundings were peaceful, the overall atmosphere lacked a certain charm. The staff was courteous, but the service didn't go above and beyond. It's a reasonable choice if you're looking for a straightforward and functional place to stay, but don't expect any extraordinary experiences.

This was an overall average stay. The location was good close to town and near a small stream. Staff were not very friendly and the camping space was very small, and right next to some car parks, and the common room. It was not noisy though. The toilet and kitchen was outdated.

We needed a place to stay for just one night in Dunedin and found this and it ticked all the boxes for us! Warm, clean, comfortable beds and everything we needed in a self contained cabin with private bathroom. Would definitely recommend and stay here happily again.

Got a large cabin which had 7 beds in it. This made it extremely crowded and difficult to move around. One less set of bunks and it would have been much better. Clean but strong burnt smell. WiFi included and it was a good connection. Basic kitchen. Wouldnt stay in the large cabin again but would look at other options

Well establish campground with great amenities and a very welcoming receptionist. Studio was well equipped and had a very comfy bed. You are spoilt with choices for walking tracks though the Leigh Valley starting right at the door step. Its just a very short drive into town or if you fancy you could walk or bike. Only three things which, in my opinion, could see some improvements: the playground looked a bit tired; warming up the room with a small radiator might get a bit challenging during the colder days/nights, having some thin curtains to obscure the view into the cabin to allow some privacy. But in all I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, thank you.
