Stayed two nights here. Nice modern studio, well equipped kitchen and good shower. Outside area for sitting (if it hadn’t been so chilly).

Free shuttle to the airport and two local buses stop nearby into Christchurch ($4.20)- number 29 and Purple line.

Only negative for us was that our front door was onto the car park and we were woken on both mornings by people leaving early and talking loudly outside/ bikers and their bikes.

We booked a 1 bedroom suite. It was clean, functional and sufficiently spacious. Not expensive, not cheap but reasonable value.

The hotel offers a free airport shuttle and you can use the airport shuttle to get to the nearby International Antarctic Centre - definitely worth a visit.

The best thing about Airport Delta Motel? The fast wifi - 20Mbps down and about the same up!

We stayed in a two bedroom unit which was lovely. Very well equipped and really comfortable. The shuttle service was great and we used it in both directions. Staff were lovely. When we checked in they'd turned the heat pump on in our room so was very toasty! Booked for next year already.

We arrived on midnight flight and selected Gold Band taxi to motel as recommended by manager in order to receive 10% discount. Cost from airport to motel over $20 – not sure if or where discount was applied there.
The room was a little disappointing, smaller than anticipated and large cobweb hanging from ceiling in kitchen, right in the middle of passageway. We were kept awake the rest of the night and next morning by a bright outside light shining in from the motels next door, but mostly due to excessive traffic noise. Trucks and cars obviously using Roydvale Ave as major thoroughfare from around 4am onwards.
Manager was very good however and took us to airport the next day in the shuttle free of charge, so please don’t be put off staying there. Maybe just take earplugs and sleeping mask!

This place is very close to the airport and the rooms are very clean, modern, well appointed and comfortable. Unfortunately our initial approach by phone was answered by an extremely terse and frankly rude lady who perhaps I should have terminated the call and tried somewhere else, but that would have actually deprived us of staying at what was an excellent motel. My only observation in her defense would be that it was during the latest level 3 lockdown in Christchurch and perhaps that effected her judgement. Nonetheless hopefully she will read this review and perhaps reflect on her telephone manner and realise that being in a service industry job she cannot talk to prospective guests in that way. I have scored this motel 4 despite this outburst because of the quality of the rooms.

We stayed at this very nice and clean motel, but the service from the front desk was very disappointing. The reason we stayed there was the service of transport to the airport, but the manager was not interested and he keep giving us different reasons why he could not take us,he was by himself or he would take us if he had any pick ups at the airport then his wife said he was out yet he was up stairs in another unit. (it is a 10 min around trip to the airport) if you don't want to provide this service don't advertise it

We are pleased to hear that this guest found our motel, 'nice and clean'. Yes, we offer a shuttle service to and from the airport. Our check in time is from 2pm and our check out time is at 10am. We are very happy to pick up and drop off at any time during those hours. On this occasion we offered a complimentary late check-out until 11am. The guest checked out from our accommodation but asked if they could store their luggage with us for a few hours. We were more than happy to do this and let the guest know that if they came back before 2pm we would be happy to drop them to the airport if we had somebody available to drive them. Regrettably when the guest returned we were not in a position to drive the guest to the airport but we booked (and paid) for his taxi. At the time of writing his review it would seem that the guest was under the impression that the taxi was at his own expense and did not realise that we had made a refund to him. We should been clearer in our communications with the guest and we could have avoided this review all together.

When I arrived it was in pouring rain. I dealt with the son of the owner. He gave me the key to my upstairs room and watched me (a 60+ lady) struggle in the rain and haul my suitcase upstairs. The key didn't open the door. I went back downstairs and told the son, who gave me a key to a downstairs unit this time. Again, he watched me as I had to reclimb the stairs, retrieve my suitcase and struggle with it down the stairs. I ended up talking to some staff who told me that the parents are lovely, but the son is not, and treats his staff poorly. Will never stay there again and warn all my friends off. Apalling service.

really nice apartment motel, 2 minutes away from airport, very clean, comfortable... more than you can ask for an overnight before flight (updated decor, kitchen, tv, nice living room, etc)
Very easy late night check-in also (flight arrived at 1am).

Yes, we agree and think we are, “Perfect for overnight before flight.”. A lot of the flights from Christchurch airport leave at hideous hours and we like to accommodate those guests requiring somewhere close to the airport where they can be assured of a quality sleep before a long-haul flight. Thanks for taking the time to write a review, it means a lot to us when we receive reviews from Trip Advisor Senior Reviewers.

We arrived to Christchurch a few nights ago, and were met by a very unfriendly woman! She took us to the motel in a nice van, the room was freezing there was NO heater in the bedroom and the temperature that night went down to -1 Celcius.
The unfriendliness continued, when I asked the reception on who delivers good food and the man himself hasn't tried anything and pretty much told me that he doesn't know! Then I asked him for a few panadols cause my head was hurting me! And he charged $3 for 4 panadol capsules!
They advertised it as a one bedroom spa unit, well ... I think they built the spa for a very very short and skinny person! Very misleading
They put up a dirty old cot in our room and the room was so small that you had to jump onto the bed! It was a truly horrible experience overall! Would never stay here again, what a complete waste of money and a really sad face to Kiwi hospitality!

It is so disappointing to us to receive a review such as this, particularly when the majority of these issues could have been avoided with better communication. Since this review was published I have spoken directly with the guest. I was away when this guest stayed with us so I needed to speak with our minders also. The guests were picked up from the airport by our minder and soon after departing from the airport the guests began a conversation between themselves about one of our competitors that was somewhat scathing (this can be seen in the other reviews written by the guests) so our minder did not think it was her place to contribute to the conversation. She was surprised to hear that this meant she was 'unfriendly'. The room in question has electric heaters, under floor heating, electric blankets, bathroom wall heater and wool blankets. We also have an additional supply of blankets and heaters in the event that a guest should require anything more. At no point did they notify us that they were at all uncomfortable. We make guest comfort a priority and would have been straight over to the room to check that everything was working as it should and with a further supply of blankets/heating. Because we had a minder here when the guests asked about local eateries he was being honest when he said that he had not tried any of them. However, he certainly could have done some further research for the guest and perhaps even read some reviews for her. It is our policy not to sell pharmaceuticals to any of our guests. Our minder sold his personal panadol to the guest for the price he paid for them from the local dairy. When I spoke with the guest I explained our policy, apologised that it had not been explained better to her at the time and also refunded the money to her credit card. Whilst speaking with the guest I addressed the issue of the, 'dirty old cot' because I could not understand when we had recently purchased brand new cots and linen. I have two young children myself and would never think of offering a less than superior cot. Her response was that, 'well maybe it wasn't but I was so tired, angry and I had a headache by then that I couldn't see anything good'. In the end, the guest agreed that she had been unfair in this review and was considering amending it. We are always happy to welcome any feedback, good or bad and wherever possible we will use negative feedback as an opportunity to improve our processes or offerings. We have taken a lot on board from this experience, mostly in regards to customer communication and staff training.

We were just passing through and needed somewhere near our campervan drop-off. The host of the hotel very kindly came to collect one of us at the camper van drop off and delivered to the hotel which was very helpful. The room was extremely comfortable and we had a good night sleep. The hotel is a short bus ride to the city centre. Highly recommend.
