Hi Nicki, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your stay with us. Our apologies for the misunderstanding regarding your concerns about being overcharged for the accommodation booked. The team and myself took action with your concerns in a timely manner. We received your phone call the night of your departure regarding your concerns. I was made aware of these concerns of being overcharged for the accommodation the following day. I followed up on your transaction history that day, one day after your departure from the Hotel. Upon the review of your transaction history with the Hotel, there were no overcharges on the credit card. But as the credit card company had not released the funds back onto your credit card from the hold/ pre-authorizations we finalized from our end, those funds were not made available to you; as mentioned to you by our staff, it can take 3-5 business days for the release of funds from the credit card company. This is also signposted at our Hotel Reception so guests are aware of this process. When in contact with you the following day, one day after your departure date, to advise that we had not over charged you, I also asked who you banked with, to have this matter fast-tracked. Your bank was contacted and I sent your transaction history to them, and requested they release the funds on their end due to your concerns about the charges the on the card. The bank advised this would be processed approximately 40 minutes to 1 hour. I called you back the after I had sent the relevant information and advised you the bank would proceed to release the holds on your credit card. The Hotel and its' staff did its utmost to assist you, and I apologize if the time frame to action your concerns were not to your expectations. I can assure you we handled the situation in a professional and courteous manner, and provided assurances throughout our dialogue with you on the day this was being actioned that your concerns were being dealt with. Once again, our apologies that you found our follow-up to your complaint regarding the pre-authorization and finalization of charges on your credit card was not to your satisfaction and affected your holiday plans. I hope your next stay with us will be a more pleasurable experience.

We appreciate hearing from our overseas guests on their stay with us, even if they accidently booked our Hotel rather than a B&B. The Deluxe Hotel is located separate from the rest of the complex in a two storey block, as described on our website and is quite different from our standard ground level studios which offer a lounge and kitchenette facilities. This is a good place to spend a night in Christchurch. The hotel is located outside the center, so it good to have a car to get there. A lot of free places to park are provided. The rooms are clean and spatial. The staff is friendly and helpful.
