I couldn't speak more highly of Gaye and Lindsay Johnson. They were warm and welcoming, making our stay extremely special from the get go.

As somebody who has travelled extensively, I can highly recommend Huntingdon Grange farm stay as one of the most fantastic places I have ever had the privilege of staying at.

The surroundings are serene and the design taste impeccable. It is the height of cosy, country style luxury.

Breakfast is totally organic and home grown, a perfect match to the wonderful farmhouse atmosphere.

The property was spotless and the scent of flowers amazing. A truly relaxing experience.

A must visit!

We already stayed there in 2005. It was so nice that we came back and enjoyed the friendlyness of the hosts once more. The breakfast is fantastic, all you would wish is there. We enjoyed the breakfast in the wonderful winter garden. The rooms are very tasteful furnished. In spite of the earthquake last year, we felt very safe in the wooden house. We wish our hosts and the whole area all the best for the future. Perhaps we will be able to visite you a third time..

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Huntingdon Grange - for one night at the start of our trip and then for the last 3 days before heading home. What a hidden gem this is !! The most wonderful B & B with beautiful rooms and wonderful hosts in Gaye & Lindsay. The first stay was in the Queen room and the last three nights we stayed in "the Smithy" a self contained renovated stable. Both rooms were large with plenty of light and very comfortable beds. The Huntingdon also has a King room with its own ensuite. The breakfasts are all you could ask for with cereals, yoghurt and fruit and also a hot cooked breakfast. You do not need lunch staying here!!
Our stay at Huntingdon Grange was a major part of our visit to the South Island. We were able to go for walks around the estate and see Alpaca's grazing in the properties next door. We were also only a 10 minute drive into the city and airport. It was a joy to be able to go back to Huntingdon Grange at the end of each day.

The farm stay at the Huntingdon Grange in Christchurch, New Zealand was truly a
great experience. The house was beautiful and very well kept by the host - Gaye and Lindsay. They are exceptional hosts and didn't leave any stone unturned to make our stay comfortable and memorable. The farm house has some lovely paddocks with friendly sheep and Alpaceas - ever ready for a photo opportunity with the guests. There is a lovely Gazebo area outside for private time amidst the serene garden with fragrant plants and rose bushes. The observatory was lovely and we really enjoyed our dinners there. Overall a great experience I would return to

We drove and stay at this place when we touched down from airport. The house and room were very well decorated. It's very quaint style to me. I love it. The breakfast was good and I even got the chance to feed the sheep. I really enjoyed my stay. One thing to note is that the bathroom is not en-suite, but this is not an issue to me. I stayed at the ground level.

My husband and I spent three nights at Huntingdon Grange in January. Gaye and Lindsey were wonderful hosts helping us with directions, ideas for daytrips and restaurant reservations. Gaye's breakfasts were huge and delicious. The rooms are very private in a separate wing of the very large home. We had a large suite with an ensuite with both a shower and a tub. The bathroom was well stocked with high quality bath products. Large sliding glass doors led out a private patio overlooking a beautiful garden. Words can't do justice to this gorgeous estate. The flowers, gazebo, grass tennis court and corrals with a variety of animals were just steps from our door. Don't be afraid to visit Christchurch. The city center suffered great damage but there is still plenty to do and see around this wonderful area of the country.

We found this lovely bed and breakfast on the Christchurch tourism website, and what a find it turned out to be! Just located about 10 minutes from Christchurch Airport on highway 1, which is great if you are landing at Christchurch and then heading down to Lake Tekapo, Mount Cook, Queenstown areas as you are on the right side of town.
This lovely B&B homestay is nestled amongst trees and gardens, up a drive that opens to the main house and stables. We stayed in the Smithy half way down the drive, from the outside looks like a small brick building nothing fantastic, but inside a gorgeous room with large queen bed, ensuite, tastefully furnished, very country living style. We had homemade cookies on arrival with tea and coffee facilities in room, also a small fridge.

Our hosts Gaye and Lindsay were so friendly it felt like we were visiting old friends! The cooked breakfast was to die for, again homemade produce, jams, honey, sauces from Gayes family recipe, all this served in the comfortable conservatory looking out over the pool and gardens. Gaye certainly set the standard for B&Bs in NZ! Nothing was too much trouble. Great location for visiting Christchurch area, we stayed one night on arrival in Christchurch and then again on our way back up from Queenstown heading north. Would not hesitate to recommend this comfortable home from home.

This B&B is a great accommodation for a group of couples traveling together. It worked perfectly for our group of 3 couples. Gaye is your hostess and she’s helpful, organized and cheerful. The home is clean and comfortable. Convenient to Christchurch, your hosts will give you suggestions and tips for your visit to the city 15 min away. I highly recommend Huntingdon Grange,👍🏼

We stayed on New Year's Eve, wanting a quiet place near the airport for our last night in NZ. The place really did live up to our expectations. The website photos don't really do justice to the size and beauty of the house and gardens. The guest area, which guests are free to use, is spacious and comfortable, with lovely traditional style country furnishings. Our 2 young children (3 and 4 years old) loved the gardens, stables and fields with all the resident animals: cat, chickens, sheep and alpacas, as well as horses to see next door.

Our room was the 'family' room and had a large double bed, single bed and made up bed for our children, as well as an ensuite bathroom. It was large and comfortable for the 4 of us, especially as we are used to sharing rooms when travelling. Lovely extras included chocolates, toiletries and drinks in our room. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean.

Gaye was a wonderful host, making us feel very welcome and cooking us a delicious breakast.

Overall, highly recommended, especially as our kids loved the 'farmstay' aspect of it, and it's only 20 minutes drive to Christchurch airport.

This B&B is so underrated! I absolutely adored this place. Coming from a city, its so nice to live in a cottage like floral theme home. The farm and plantations at the backyard is a definite bonus! We had so much fun exploring the place. Wonderful hosts, extremely clean, great breakfast. I cannot wait to go back!
