Now my go-to hotel in Christchurch because of its location and great price for being right in the centre of the CBD. This time around, there was a slight concern about the cleaning of the bathroom and the glasses in there (there's no way they'd been changed between guests - there was dried white gunk inside one of the glass that looked like a previous guest's toothbrushing spit-out - something that might not bother me so much in normal times but after receiving so many emails prior to my stay about how Accor was doing all of these extreme cleaning and sanitising measures, it felt very wrong to have dirty anything in the room, especially things that guests touch with their mouths. Surely all cups, glasses and teaspoons should be removed from rooms between guests for thorough cleaning and sanitisation, and every guest have fresh ones? A little detail that won't put me off staying here again but was a bit yuck!). Just a minor thing. Like I say, not enough to put me off staying here again or recommending it as a great hotel to stay in, but hopefully the hotel ups their efforts in meeting the standards that Accor is claiming to be meeting in all of their hotels.

I wouldn't stay there again due to tiny room & really noisy all day & night plus no parking. Room is clean but no room service throughout our 4 nights which was disappointing. Location is great & walking distance to shopping & restaurants. Staff are very welcoming.

Hello worldtravelcouplenz Thank you very much for your candid review of your recent stay at our hotel. Your feedback is extremely valuable to us, as we strive to improve with each and every stay. To note we service all rooms everyday unless the "do not disturb" signed has been left on the door. We may knock on the door in the afternoon to check but we don't breach guests privacy if the sign is left out. We do have parking onsite but its limited and sold on a first in first served basis.

I’m not a fan of Ibis hotels but appreciate where they sit in the market but I’d love to be surprised and be able to take it all back . Sadly this ibis has reinforced all of my bias Don’t get me wrong the customer service team were very nice and helpful but you can’t smile away the face that the rooms are … well just very average Actually very basic Reminds me of a hostel Value for money could be purchased at a motel just out of the CBD no place to eat within the hotel , only breakfast So no room service despite the web site saying the opposite

Hello Vacation763367 Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent stay with us Ibis Christchurch. We are an economy hotel but we like to think we make up for our basic hotel with amazing staff and service. If you are looking for something a little more upmarket we have a sister hotel in the city we can recommend. I appreciate your sharing your thoughts, it is my hope that you will give us the opportunity to better redeem ourselves in the near future.

I started staying here for business a few months ago and have been a repeat stayer since. While the Ibis is a little more to the budget end, I've found the hotel to be an excellent base for my Christchurch project. The rooms are clean and tidy. There is an extra blanket - much needed if you don't want the aircon on while sleeping (I find it too noisy) in the Christchurch winter. I turn the power off the fridge while sleeping (am a light sleeper and it wakes me up otherwise). Breakfast is a standard continental style that meets my needs. The staff are very friendly and proficient. One of the ladies who looks after the breakfast area is particularly good at being a great host.

I stayed here for one night in May 2021. The hotel is located very conveniently in the middle of the shopping/business area with plenty of shops and restaurants around. As is the case with many Ibis hotels, the room was a bit small, but it was ok for one person for one night. It was tidy and clean, and the wifi worked well. I did not eat anything at the restaurant.
