As a group of 6 adults plus 2 children we needed a first night’s accommodation with easy access to the airport before picking up our Motor Home to start our trip.
This Motor Lodge was perfect for us , we booked three apartments next to each other. Ours no17 had everything and more , double bed, bathroom en suite , lounge and kitchen and even a private balcony over looking the swimming pool. Everything was fresh and clean, for the price I would highly recommend you have a stay here.Oh and the walk across the Park and Botanical Gardens into Cathedral Square was an added bonus!

We stayed here unexpectedly for two weeks during the Lockdown.
Shelley, Hennie and Leo took very good care for us.
Despite of the problems they were very kind and helpfull. It felt almost like home !
The studio has cookingfacilities and a large bathroom. Everything you need is available. Within a ten minutes walk you have a supermarket, other shops and a marvelous park (Hagley Park). Value for money is excellent.

This motor lodge was great value (114NS$/£60 per night). The room was really big, lots of space for all our luggage, it was clean and well stocked. There is a small kitchenette which we only used for having cold breakfast/tea.
The bathroom was big and clean with a good strong, hot shower.
The staff were really friendly and helpful- there was space in the reception for us to leave luggage in the morning while we were waiting to be picked up.
It is close to restaurants and supermarkets. We got there easily by bus from the airport.
We only stayed one night before picking up a campervan but I would definitly stay again if I was in Christchurch.
The bathroom was big and clean with a good strong, hot shower.

A fantastic place to stay. We stayed for 4 nighs over easter.
The pwners are friendly and accommodating. The motel is clean, fresh and has everything we needed and more. Close to all amenities too. I highly recommend Ashford Motor Lodge Christchurch as an accommodation destination for small and big groups. Thank you for having us.

A lovely stay with perfect hosts. Stayed three nights overall, with a gap between in different rooms and both stays were in pleasant surroundings, enjoyed the swimming pool. Rooms are clean and perfectly appointed.

We contacted this property this evening requesting accomodation for Jan 2025. The lady on the phone was happy to match the booking.com price advising their rate would be non refundable - all fine up until that point. I politely told her we'd call back in the morning to book and understood the space wouldn't be held overnight. To which she says "well I have just gone through the whole booking process". I replied "Well we have to make sure the other 2 parties travelling are happy with pricing etc, so we will call back tomorrow". To which she says "well you just wasted my time" and hung up!

You then called and we agreed to the same discounted non refundable price and you were happy to give us your full name, email address, mobile number knowing the booking was being made. Stayed there with family (2 adults + 3 kids). The apartment was se ton two levels, which was absolutely perfect - kids at the top floor (just up the stairs with a curtains as a wall). Specious with decent size lounge to relax , and small kitchen. We only had breakfast there and it was great with everything you need for it.
Walking distance from a city centre (yes, even with kids it was not far at all), and nearby Hagley Park was great for a morning run.
There are laundry facilities, bit dated, but again - did the job.
Unfortunately kids didn't get to use the pool as it was closed (had cover on), but again - it wasn't a big deal for us as got other stuff planned anyway.
Would highly recommend it!

I stayed here for work three nights as my usual hotel couldn’t fit me in and while the rooms are lovely and clean the manager’s attitude was terrible . I asked for an extra pillow and she said no and when I asked for some milk the next day she said you get one only when you arrive but she hadn’t given me any when I arrived. It felt like being a guest was a major inconvenience for her so I won’t stay again solely based on her bad attitude if you don’t like people don’t work in the hospitality industry!

Hi Yvetteros, I am sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay with us. We take pride in making all our guests feel welcome and comfortable. We unfortunately only have a limited supply of spare pillows and if there are many families staying these are used for the sofa beds apologies if the 4 already supplied on the bed were insufficient and we could not supply a 5th for your stay. Apologies milk was not supplied on arrival. If you would like to discuss this further please don't hesitate to contact us but I do hope you will give us another chance and come and stay again next time you are in Christchurch for your work.

Not sure if we just caught them on a rough day but I can only just say average. We were in Christchurch during some super hot weather and the accomodation having no air con and no fans available was pretty rough but to top it off the pool was really dirty so we couldn’t even go for a swim comfortably. I did ask about the state of the pool and got told the pool cleaner was coming tomorrow but there was no improvement the next day so maybe he didn’t come? Anyways sadly for us they missed the mark so we won’t be back. Loved Christchurch so will definitely return but will look at staying elsewhere.

Dear mosscopeekotrain, I am very sorry to hear you did not enjoy your recent stay. You did catch us on some unusually hot days and with no air conditioning I understand this would have been somewhat uncomfortable. We did however have additional fans during this period so not sure if you enquired at reception? Regarding the pool, this was vacuumed twice in the week due to the number of people using the pool as well as all the chemicals checked daily which returned correct. Neville is right. There are only 2 buses from the airport. Make sure you get the one that goes via Fendalton. The bus will go into the city alongside the park and then turn right into Victoria St. Ring the bell to get off once the park (on your right) finishes. The bus will the. Turn right into Victoria St and there you get off.
The walk to Ashford from there is quite short - 5 minutes. As you get off the bus, turn left and walk straight down Papanui Rd. You’ll pass a Shell Service station. Go a bit further. Ashford is on the same side S the Shell. Good luck
