Liked · My wife & I have travelled to Christchurch for the New Zealand Cup Horse Racing Carnival in most recent years, since the Covid Pandemic wained.
The Ashleigh Court Motel is tucked away in a leafy, quite suburban street & the only traffic noise we heard was the Wednesday morning Garbage Truck emptying the Garbage & Re-cycle Bins but that noise only lasted a few minutes.
Last year we stayed @ a Motel on Riccarton Rd & it was a wee bit noisy. The lack of traffic noise @ The Ashleigh Court Motel is a real blessing, especially if you are a light sleeper.
We stayed in a 2 Bedroom Apartment which had a few stairs to gain access, however the apartment had all the facilities that one needs to be self supporting, the apartment even had it's own washing machine.
There is plenty of easy access Off-Street Parking so there are no "someone's taken our space" parking hassles.
Would stay @ Ashleigh Court again no problems, I even spoke to the Manager regarding the possibility.
Disliked · With all the serenity one might think all is perfect, however if you do not have a vehicle, you are staying in accommodation that is a 15 minute walk away from the shops @ Riccarton Mall & the Metro Transit Hub.
A minor hiccup was the Hot Water Pressure for the apartment's shower, but the peaceful environment makes up for a lack of a little water pressure.

We stayed here as it was Pet Friendly. We had our 2 Bichon Furbabies with us .
Unit was clean and tidy, we were very comfortable, except no Air con, big let down.
Lovely surroundings and gardens. Not sure if the other units are rent out to long stayers, but they sat outside smoked and talked till early hours of the morning and then left in there car that was parked right outside our unit , Visitor policy is 10pm in most places, this needs to be policed.

This is a fairly standard older motel, but was a good choice for a couple of short stays while passing through Christchurch. It's handy to town, and easy easy walking distance to Hagley Park and shops and food in Riccarton. Best of all, despite the central location its very quiet in the middle of a residential block. The room was basic, but decent, with a bed and couch, and was all very clean and tidy.

We stayed one night in a two bedroom unit and found it to be very clean and comfortable. It was particularly quiet at night, no traffic noise from nearby Riccarton Rd. The gardens are tidy and the staff are friendly. Though not ultra-modern, the unit was well-maintained and had everything we needed. The small kitchen was good to prepare a simple meal.

Clean, well run small motel within 15 minutes walk of the centre of Christchurch, run very much hands on by Sue & Steve Peters, who made us very welcome. Lots of vouchers for discount in local restaurants. Small kitchen provided if you wanted to cook. Plenty of tea and coffee available - you make this yourself. very reasonably priced. We would have liked to have stayed longer. Given the choice will use again when we visit Christchurch next.

I stay here because it's not on Riccarton road and is quiet, suburban, close to work and the owner Jerry is a good guy. It is a motel so it's that standard but it is clean and comfortable. Good iron etc means I'm self sufficient.

A typical NZ motel, "letterbox" style with windows at the front, the only source of light. However, it didn't feel very private, as the other guests would walk past the window and it felt like we were in a fishbowl.
The staff were friendly, the room was clean, a bit pricey but average for Chch these days.

This motel is nice and it deserves higher ranking! We are 4 adults and 2 young children stayed at a two-bedroom apartment. Our unit was at upstairs, it's modern, beautiful with high ceiling and spacious!
The toilet has a washer and two separate basins for laundry and toilet use. The pantry is fully equipped.
The location is close to Riccarton shopping area and restaurants, which is very convenient.
We have also stayed at one of the first few ranking motel in Christchurch but found this motel more comfortable and price reasonable. We would definitely stay here again.

+1
This motel is located at a quiet residential area. There is a lovely small garden at the entrance and we immediately felt welcome.
We booked two family apartments and both are spacious, and one of the apartments come with a private patio. The living room in the apartments are nice and comfortable, and the kitchen is very well equipped (my mum was thrilled to see chopsticks in the utensil cabinet), with generous tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and sugar sachets. Moreover, the electric plug in the apartment are far more than any other accommodations that we stayed in New Zealand.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. We had trouble setting up the sofa bed in one of the apartments and they were very attentive in solving the problem.
We are very satisfied with this motel. With their FREE WiFi (with strong signal and fast speed), we don't mind stay put and rest.
