Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Liked · My wife & I have travelled to Christchurch for the New Zealand Cup Horse Racing Carnival in most recent years, since the Covid Pandemic wained. The Ashleigh Court Motel is tucked away in a leafy, quite suburban street & the only traffic noise we heard was the Wednesday morning Garbage Truck emptying the Garbage & Re-cycle Bins but that noise only lasted a few minutes. Last year we stayed @ a Motel on Riccarton Rd & it was a wee bit noisy. The lack of traffic noise @ The Ashleigh Court Motel is a real blessing, especially if you are a light sleeper. We stayed in a 2 Bedroom Apartment which had a few stairs to gain access, however the apartment had all the facilities that one needs to be self supporting, the apartment even had it's own washing machine. There is plenty of easy access Off-Street Parking so there are no "someone's taken our space" parking hassles. Would stay @ Ashleigh Court again no problems, I even spoke to the Manager regarding the possibility. Disliked · With all the serenity one might think all is perfect, however if you do not have a vehicle, you are staying in accommodation that is a 15 minute walk away from the shops @ Riccarton Mall & the Metro Transit Hub. A minor hiccup was the Hot Water Pressure for the apartment's shower, but the peaceful environment makes up for a lack of a little water pressure.

We stayed here as it was Pet Friendly. We had our 2 Bichon Furbabies with us . Unit was clean and tidy, we were very comfortable, except no Air con, big let down. Lovely surroundings and gardens. Not sure if the other units are rent out to long stayers, but they sat outside smoked and talked till early hours of the morning and then left in there car that was parked right outside our unit , Visitor policy is 10pm in most places, this needs to be policed.

Despite the attractive surroundings this motel has a dated 50s feel and the service was poor. On discovering that the milk supplied was trim milk I went to the office to change it. Nobody around all dark! It was only 9.30pm. This is the first motel we have been to that had ONLY 2 cups in the cupboard. Which means you have to wash them each time you have another drink. On the positive side the shower was good.

We spent the night here on our way back to Wellington after spending a few days in Greymouth. The unit was dated but very clean and tidy. The only negative was that we were given Trim milk so it would be good if management asked guests what milk they prefer. Trim milk may be fat free but it does contain sugar, not good for a diabetic. Bathroom was very spacious, We had a very good nights sleep. I highly recommend this motel.

Had 3 nights there in a one bedroom unit{room 7} at one end of the motel and as we had our bikes it was so handy to have a part of a trail in our street so we hardly used our car.as Christchurch is so geared up for cyclists just a shame about some of the walkers don't listen to a bike bell! Everything about our room was fine with plenty of room and quiet as well and the staff very friendly so would definitely stay there again.

The manager, Jerry, was greeted us very warmly, which immediately gave a good impression of the place. The motel’s very family friendly, having a swing in a beautiful wee garden, and enough space for kids to run about. It is located within walking distance to the main road, with cafes and shopping all just around the corner, and the Gardens just a wee bit further. It's minutes of driving from the city centre and the airport. Pretty much all that you would need and want is at the doorstep - hugely convenient! Jerry was readily available, always able to provide any guidance or assistance whenever needed. Our rooms were clean, really comfortable, with sufficient sheets and duvets and heating to keep us warm and cozy throughout◡̈ Our group of 8 + babies - over two nights - definitely enjoyed the stay!! Two thumbs up!

You might look for accommodation and see their pricing and think hmmm cheap must be a catch. But actually very tidy and clean (older style units) but what value for money. Nice outdoor area with a BBQ , good wifi and very handy to Christchurch, we’ll definitely be back.

We stayed for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Room was great with plenty of space. Owner was very helpful. Rooms were very clean with all facilities top class. Was able to walk most places we wanted to visit and easy to catch the hop on hop off bus with nearest location about 700m away. Highly recommend!!
