Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very central to Christchurch.near lots of eateries and bars, plus loads of shops. The tram goes thru the middle so easy to catch one.they run every 10 mins. The hotel is adequate. Not plush but ok. But after booking a standard dbl and kindly being upgraded to a queen, as it was our anniversary I. was very shocked how small a queen was. The bathroom made you feel claustrophobic.space is taken up with an unnecessary bidet,so old fashioned.hardly room to dry yrslf when u get out the shower. So I paid £60 to upgrade to a king size.they were very kind and upgraded us a bit more to a 26ft room. This was perfect, much more spacious.no view but got lots of other places left on our hols for views.

If you want to get to sleep before 12:30 don't stay at this hotel. The incredibly loud music from the night club opposite booms out until after midnight. I suggested that the hotel should warn guests of this issue on Friday and Saturday nights but they refused to talk to me and won't return any of my messages. I paid a lot of money for two rooms at this hotel. Shame on the management for not caring about its guests. I've also attached a photo from our bedroom.

Dear Guest, I hope this email finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to express our gratitude for your recent review of our hotel. I am pleased to hear that the room met your expectations and that you had no complaints about our services or amenities. It is always our goal to ensure that our guests have a comfortable and enjoyable stay with us. Regarding the noise issue you mentioned in your review, I would like to clarify that we were fully booked over the weekend and did not receive any other noise complaints apart from yours. If the noise was coming from the music festival outside the property, I kindly ask for your understanding as our hotel is located in the heart of central Christchurch, where the city comes alive with various events and activities, especially during weekends. While we strive to provide a peaceful environment for our guests, we are not able to control external events that may occur in the vicinity. I appreciate your feedback and assure you that we take all guest comments seriously as we continuously strive to improve our services. If there is anything else you would like to discuss or if you have any further feedback, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly. Thank you once again for choosing to stay with us and for taking the time to share your thoughts. We value your feedback and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future. Warm regards, Hotel 115 Team Christchurch

Such a great place to stay! Very comfortable, quiet and updated/clean! The team even contacted me the day before check-in to ask when I was coming in and make other arrangements if they weren't available at the front desk. The location was great - steps away from hop on/off trolley and very short walk to many restaurants. Laundry available a few doors down. Highly recommend this hotel!

Hotel 115 was a real find and I'll definitely stay again when back in Christchurch! The hotel is perfectly located near shops, restaurants, cafes, bars and a Christchurch tram stop, and easy walking distance to the CBD. It also has the most gloriously funky design and decor (personally, I love me a bit of jewel-toned velvet and velour...). Good sized bathrooms, very comfortable beds and lots of peace and quiet despite being in a busy location. Friendly and accommodating reception staff and an easy pick-up and drop-off point for taxis and Ubers. Will be back ASAP!

The hotel was located well within a 15 minute walk to all the sights we had planned to see and has many good restaurants nearby in and around the Cathedral Junction and New Regent St. When we were out and about seeing the sights of Christchurch our hotel seemed very central as well. The Cathedral Junction below the hotel has a few good restaurants, liquor shop, souvenir store, laundry mat and a convenience store so you won't have to go far if you need something and especially while raining because the tram junction is covered. The hotel room was well appointed with a couple of chairs, mini fridge, tea/coffee area, large balcony with seating and lots of lighting. We appreciated the bathroom heater as well as the one in the bedroom area. The bed was very comfy and room was quiet as well. They had a common kitchen area with a toaster, rice cooker and a microwave so you could make yourself breakfast or reheat your leftovers from the many nearby eateries. Our room's balcony overlooked Cathedral Junction and we could see trams coming and going mostly during daylight. Only criticism I would have is that the shower in our room didn't have a lip so it leaked on to the bathroom floor if you weren't paying attention or had it on full blast. Getting to the hotel was easy from the airport using the 29 bus that stops behind the Novotel at Christchurch airport. Going to the hotel you will be dropped across the street at the Manchester Street Super Stop but pickup is on the same side of the road near DanceOMat (fun dance area by Gap Filler). Check in at this hotel was easy but the front desk is only manned between 7 am and 9 pm but they could make arrangements if you're arriving late.

Sub-par hotel, centrally located. The only good thing about 115 is the location. The rooms are small, tired, and have few of the normal amenities. Like the hotel itself. Everything is very basic, little things break (like the lock to our room, the curtains, some tiling in the bathroom. There are much nicer options elsewhere.

Very clean, comfortable beds and pillows. Got a free upgrade buf I'm not sure to what as our room had a frosted window with no view.....would we have been in the basement? Bar fridge clicked on and off overnight with a low wurring sound. Was able to sleep through it after a couple of cycles, but some may find this a problem. Great staff, very friendly. Great location.

BRILLIANT location - whilst the lobby is very trendy and the rooms have lovely decor - the bathroom is not so good, room had shower curtain with not much space to move in so the shower curtain kept sticking to your skin - very unpleasant. Comfy beds and lovely toiletries We were not told about the pool/spa facilities until we checked out - very disappointed by this - please note that these facilities are NOT at 115 - they are the hotel opposite, so the website photo is misleading Lobby is not 24hrs but they have night manager on duty - lobby staff finish at 9pm Reception staff friendly

Whilst the location was great and the room was clean, we had issues with our bathroom flooding every time we had a shower. We advised reception and they had someone look at it, our bathroom then smelt like a sewage and the problem wasn’t fixed! I wouldn’t say the reception staff were rude, they just didn’t even look up when you entered or left. Especially the gentleman on reception both mornings I went out for a walk. The second morning I asked him for a nearby pharmacy and it seemed like a total inconvenience. The novelty of the tram running through the hotel would be the only reason to stay here!
