We got there around 6pm and it was cold but the room was not pre-heated, which would have been cosy & welcoming, and there was no milk in the fridge when we arrived. No wifi code in the room & last months sky TV guide. There was only one thin duvet on the single bed and no spare blanket in the wardrobe. My daughter was cold so I had to go to reception to ask for another blanket & we got a musty old stained duvet. Only half the light bulbs worked in the room ..mostly blown bulbs not replaced. The whole room smelled damp and mouldy. The bathroom floor is flithy & rotten ..see photos.

We had no complaints about cleanliness and the staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately it was the little things that were missing. Maybe previous guests do pack what they shouldn't in their bags, but that is no reason not to have everything replaced for the next guests.A motel with no salt & pepper, but they did give me some when requested. There were coffee mugs and wine glasses, but no normal glasses, so if you wanted to have a beer etc., it was either a mug or wine glass. Only one face cloth is provided for two guests. Smoking outside is permitted and they stated to please use the ashtray provided. No ashtray! Also in their information booklet it requested that guests do not use white facecloths to remove makeup, please use makeup remover provided. No makeup remover! The chairs outside the back door should be removed as they were in bad shape and definately could not be sat on.
On a brighter note, very handy to central city, railway station, restaurants, shops etc. Please do not let my comments put you off, just be aware of what you need and don't be afraid to ask for it.

This was a supposedly 1 bedroom motel unit. It had poor quality and limited range of utensils and amenities for guests. The lounge fold out worn out dirty couch overcrowded the room and blocked an internal doorway. The single divan in lounge was too hard to sit on let alone sleep in. The safe exit door was covered by a cheap table & 2 beds. The demand was cash up front for 2 nights - after 1 night we decided to leave and have been denied 1 night's refund. The Wifi and TV did not work.

You can tell this used to be a tidy establishment, not anymore.
Needs maintenance!
Black mold on ceilings, ripped floor coverings in toilet (yuck), old damaged furniture.
We were able to check in early and the location was good but at $158 I had to wonder...

Without a doubt this would have to be the worst place I have ever stayed, we were booked for 2 nights however, it was so bad we left early in the morning and checked into another hotel. The photos should speak for themselves, disgustingly filthy and mouldy bathrooms in both of the rooms, the lounge was so uncomfortable you couldn't sit on it, one of the tv's kept loosing the channels, the sliding door on one room wouldn't open without brute force and the place was so run down I wouldn't expect my dog to stay there. When i opened the door to rooms that I had chosen due to very decdeceptive photos for myself and my sister and brother inlaw, I was mortified and embarrassed to say the least. Whomever gave it 4 stars on the booking site must have stayed in some pretty awful places

I was put into Room 101 - this faced straight onto Riccarton Road, which is one very busy road all through the day and night. Also a Vap shop nearby and several eating places. No windows are double glazed so the ghastly traffic and also people late at night speaking loudly, including people staying at the Lodge.
The room was very basic and not cleaned while staying for the few days.

The rooms do not look the photos used to advertised this place, that’s for sure. It’s in desperate need of a reno, but I was mostly disgusted at the big spot of mould in the kitchen. Put some money back into this place and get it fixed. $150 to stay here.. never again.

I stayed here with work (airline crew) and occasionally the standard hotels we stay in are booked out so our crewing department sources other locations that, as per our contract, have a 4 star minimum. I was in room 201 on this visit. It's upstairs and basically faces the road. There are plenty of amenities nearby including a pub and KFC etc etc. These are all within walking distance. The traffic noise is a little loud at night if you are staying in this room. Also, watch out when you go up the stairs at night as the hallways and stairs are not lit very well and you could easily break your neck. Room had microwave, fridge, coffee and tea making facilities and a nice surprise of a DVD player. Watch the shower head in this room as it was lose and collapsed a few times and could easily fall on your head. There was a double bed in the main room and another room with a double bed also. Carpets could have had a bit of a clean but I have seen alot worse. I liked the retro red curtains, bed sheets etc and the cushions on the bed were plentiful. All in all, not a bad place and as I mentioned, plenty of facilities nearby.

Booked for 5 adults, get to Central Park Motor Lodge,
told oh that's a problem, I explained, we booked for adults, this was agreed, took the money, then took us to a room with two double beds ,asked where does the 5th stay, next an old trundle bed rolled in from the 50s,
The room absolutely stunk of rotten infected feet, followed by the most terrible smell of sweaty body odor.
The carpet was filthy, stained and sticky to walk on , all this followed up with bed mattress that sunk to the-floor and broken sofa lounge that we were told not to use.
After feeling not well in a few minutes we opened all the windows and went to get air sanitizer .freshener, come back one hour later, still not fit for habitation, called the manager up, .
He said oh yes it is smelly and dirty, i will talk to the cleaner, this was now 7:15pm, I asked for refund as this is not clean and healthy to stay, he disappeared , went to office no one in sight.
Bad, very bad and the worst place I have ever seen to be expected to pay for,let alone sleep in.
Very Poor Service Even worse conditions.
We were very lucky to get another place, a beautiful place for my family to stay in on such short notice.

Just a short jaunt from the airport and a quick walk into the Christchurch CBD the Central Park Motor Lodge is always our 'first port of call' to start off our annual holidays. Not too big. Not too small a real little 'gem'!
