The Quest On Cambridge hotel in Christchurch is really ideal for staying in Christchurch. It is on the edge of the Avon, there is only the small quiet street and the small Bridge of Remembrance to find yourself in the very city center. lively Christchurch with all its restaurants, terraces and shops.
The hotel is very pleasant with very warm welcoming staff. The rooms are large, the bedding very comfortable, a table and chairs, an armchair. The bathroom is large with a shower. In the rooms we find a kitchen with oven, microwave, electric kettle (coffee pods, tea bags, chocolate are available and milk pods in the fridge), dishwasher, induction hob and all the crockery necessary to prepare meals and eat. Television with Chromecast if you have a TV application on your cell phone and want to watch films in French but also many films in English.
There is no restaurant in the hotel but you can prepare your own meals. If you want fresh bread for breakfast you can leave the hotel, cross the bridge and go to the Riverside Market at 200m (4 minutes walk) where you can find everything you can imagine to eat, numerous caterers, including excellent sushi and especially the Bellbird bakery which sells French breads and excellent pastries. If you want to go to the restaurant , just cross the bridge and you immediately find many restaurants. The wonderful botanical garden and the historic center of Christchurch are about 1 km away via the streets with its many shops.
The hotel is very clean, the rooms are cleaned every day, the dishwasher emptied, the towels changed.
There is a private parking lot behind the hotel with a badge to enter and exit (25 dollars per day, 15 euros) but it is better to reserve because there are not many places.

Our stay was exceptional. My wife and I stayed for a week in a one bedroom and then moved to a two bedroom for our second week when we were joined by our adult son. The rooms were clean, fresh, and well-appointed. (My only quibble is about the absence of drawers for clothing; we had to live out of our suitcases.) The two bedroom consisted of two studio rooms behind a locked fire door -- so we could leave our doors open when we wanted to visit with each other or close them when we wanted privacy.
The location -- across the Bridge of Remembrance from the CBD -- was ideal; 2 minutes walk from being in the center of things yet quiet and accessible. The staff were consistently friendly and accommodating, from check-in (we arrived early in the morning and they had our room ready for us; we made the decision to switch from the one bedroom to a two bedroom mid-stay and they handled the transfer our our luggage smoothly and without any fuss). We rented a car for just one day and found on-street parking easily (free in the city from 6 PM to 9 AM). Highly recommended.

The hotel is in a great location. 2 mins walk from Riverside and the Terrace. Bed is comfortable, room is clean. The kitchenette has everything you need for basic cooking. Washer and dryer with detergent included. Would be a good hotel for a short business trip. Decent water pressure and spacious shower.
Cons - you can not see out the window. Was hard to tell when booking but the windows are covered with a coloured film. They also creak, maybe from heat..?? There is no fan in the bathroom. Parking is an issue if staying more than one night. On site parking is very very limited. No drop off park outside. There is street parking, free from 7pm to 9am then you need to move your car.

This hotel was great just a quick walk across the bridge to restaurants, bars and shops, brilliant location. The rooms were very modern, with washing machine dryer and kitchen facilities. The rooms were a good size and very clean. Will definitely stay again!

Perfect location for exploring on foot. Apartments are very well-equipped with plenty of kitchen utensils. Handy to have washer and dryer too. A bonus was the dishwasher. I had a studio unit on the 6th floor which was warm, light and spacious. Bed very comfortable. Studio very quiet with no traffic or guest noise. Good lighting for reading and sewing - definitely not always the case in accommodation. Supermarkets, shops, galleries, Botanical gardens etc. all within walking distance. Reception and housekeeping staff were very professional, helpful, polite and friendly. Ahmed, on the front desk, was excellent.

Quest is central. When I booked there was NO information on parking. When we arrived they have an on-site carpark. And it’s was almost empty. Aloof and unhelpful checkin guy, says “should of booked a spot”. Not helpful!! Anyway spent the next 3 days moving the car in metered council parking every 2 hours. What a pain in the @@@.
It is clean, new and comfortable, but the parking and staff took the shine of the whole experience.

Only stayed here for one night upon arrival in Christchurch. Booked a 1 bedroom apartment plus parking. Check-in was very easy.
Great room. Separate bedroom. Small kitchenette. A variety of things to watch on their inhouse channels. Conveniently located across from the Riverside Markets and about a 15 minute walk to the nearest New World.
TIP: Bring earplugs if staying on the weekend. You can't hear the noise when in the bedroom but falling asleep on the couch, I was awoken by shouting nearby at 2am

We absolutely loved the convenience of this location. Just across the road / river to shops and restaurants. It was extremely modern and clean, very comfortable for a few nights! Great base to explore and had everything you need. Only negative was lack of space on the bathroom vanity as it's mostly taken up with the sink. There was under bench storage and the shower felt very luxurious! Good quality bathroom amenities so didn't need to take shampoo etc.

Good hotel with good amenities at the center of the city. The location was very convenient. Kitchenette and everything was good. This helped us as we were there for Christmas weekend and most of the placers were closed. We had a good time on the hotel. Suggest this is you plan to be in Christchurch.
