This is the 3rd time we have stayed here and we really enjoyed it. It is an easy 10-15 min walk to the city and there is a supermarket within a short drive. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The room is large, clean and has a generous supply of tea, coffee etc. There is a snack basket in the room if you wish to purchase any snacks. Ample easy parking meant we could leave our car and walk into the city. The shower water pressure is not great but does the job, we maybe just a bit spoiled because our shower at home is so good. We had an upstairs room, rom 15 which was quiet and away from the noise of cars parking outside the downstairs rooms. There is no lift so you do have to carry bags upstairs , this was not an issue for us. We will return without hesitation to this friendly welcoming accommodation at what is a very reasonable price. It also has sky tv which is a treat for us.

The apartment had everything we needed for a short stay in Christchurch. It was a 10 minute easy walk to the centre and all the sights and an easy taxi ride (Ola) from the airport and to the station. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of space in the superior studio for two people.

Great location that's only a 10 minute walk away from the city centre. Easy accessibility to eateries and groceries. It happened that the ceiling started leaking water on the 2nd day of my stay. The staff acted quickly to switch me to another room and I am pleased with their quick reaction. The room was cosy and spacious. I would stay here again.

Very clean, well located, we could walk from the motel in to town, the bed is generously sized and comfortable although the pillows are hard. It is on a busy street so traffic noise disturbed our sleep. Parking was off street on a first Inn basis, but there was plenty. The kitchen area is compact with a jug toaster and microwave. Shower pressure not great but sufficient.

I cancelled my booking at this establishment after I was delayed elsewhere in New Zealand as a result of Cyclone Lusi. I emailed them far in excess of 48 hours prior to my visit however I received a reply stating the full payment had been deducted from my account. I queried this and then received a series of rude emails from a person called 'Peter' in which he refused to refund this payment. I have now raised this as a dispute with my credit card company.

If you want to avoid your credit card being used for unauthorised transactions and extremely rude staff then I would urge you not to stay at this motel

This is my second visit to City Central Motel Apartments and it's only got better. My room was dirt cheap but just as good as a more expensive motel on Bealey Avenue. It was super clean and well stocked with bathroom and kitchen necessities. And of course free wifi and Sky TV. The only draw back being the 2am boy races and loud mufflers. But this didn't stop me from having a restful nights sleep. Will stay here again.

We spent several nights here - at the beginning of our trip to the south island and we returned at the end.
Rooms have plenty of space and come with a very nice kitchenette complete with refrigerator, microwave and plenty of dishes and glasses. Our reception was friendly and, as we were early, he recommended a good cafe just around the corner. It's a courtyard type motel, two levels (see photos), but the neighborhood was pretty safe and well kept. WiFi worked very well (important to us) and there were plenty of outlets. It's a pleasant walk to the downtown area and it's very close to the Cardboard Cathedral. Even though we had a car, we walked downtown. It think it was a great choice and we'd stay again.

We stayed here for 3 nights. Bed is super comfortable as well as decent pillows. Small kitchenette with bay fridge. Daily housekeeping service.
We were there when it was hot but no fans or air conditioning. More geared for cold weather. Reception did give us a small fan overnight which helped.
There is a free shuttle bus to the casino which is handy, saves you around 20 bucks and takes you to Victoria street, good restaurants nearby.
It's not 5-star but it's not a dump. Would stay again. Free parking too.

Booked online a few weeks before. The service via booking was awesome. We were offered an upstairs room which would have been nice. However upon check in were located into a dark and dingy room in the far corner by the reception.
Bed was okay. but have to agree with other reviews. Seriously lacking in any atmosphere. Not sure if it's the lack of places to stay perhaps makes these owners complacent.
Shower was tiny. shower pointed straight to the toilet. If you didn't close the curtain, you literally soaked the entire bathroom.
Heater was on all night. Partner tried to turn it off but probably turned it up higher.
Don't think I would stay here again, there must be other places to stay which are nicer of the same price range.

Hi, full information (including video pictures) is available on the Motel website, however the rooms have a kitchenette which contain the basic requirements you are seeking. This includes microwave, refrigerator etc. Enjoy your stay, it’s a nice city.

Hi, Parking available right in front of the motel units, and you shouldn’t have any problem with that. The adjoining rooms were comfortable and would easily accommodate 5, just place any request when you book. Found driving in town quite easy (it’s not a very big city) and there is cheap parking available under the new city Art Gallery. Also try the hop on hop off tour bus to get around, then you can pick your spots. Have fun, it’s a great city. Tony
