This hotel is a pure joke We arrived there for a family reunion from ireland as we had great memories around the area..we were shocked with the poor standard of both service and food..the staff were nice and done their best.the bedrooms were clean and tidy however dated.the breakfast was burnt bacon and badly presented. We will not be returning to this commodore hotel ever again..British chefs need to get their act together..in comparison with other players like Spain and Ireland
When I arrived at this hotel, the hotel staff was very nice, humble and very helpful, they help me to get to our room. The hotel rooms are very clean, the bathroom very clean also. Overall this hotel was very beautiful.
We drew this hotel as our MIQ hotel. While we were unhappy to have to come down to Christchurch for our MIQ stay we were delighted with this hotel. The food was delicious, there was a big walking area and we even had our own balcony so we could always get some fresh air. The staff were extremely friendly as wel and we enjoyed our stay.
We were there for MIQ in September and we both loved every bit of it; the beds, the bathroom, the little balcony, the staff. The food... it was absolutely outstanding. If I'm in Christchurch I know where I'm staying.
I am here for managed isolation and I could not be more impressed with the Commodore. The room is spacious and comfortable. There is a small balcony with native trees outside. More importantly, the staff are amazing! Somehow, they manage to look after everyone staying here, delivering fresh meals to our rooms and readily fulfilling special requests with unflagging friendliness and good humour. I really feel very well looked after!
We stayed here for managed isolation this month. The staff were excellent and always accomodating. The food was wonderful. The room was very spacious and had all the amenities we needed for our stay. We were very comfortable throughout our time there and are very grateful to the whole team for their impeccable care!
We stayed here for two weeks as part of managed isolation. Given the circumstances, my expectations were pretty low. But the staff and the food were fantastic. They helped with even the smallest request. Their concierge was top notch and very entertaining. I would definitely stay here again when things are back to normal.
This is my 3rd time in a isolation hotel in Nz, from a hotel service prospective this place general service and quality of food was by far the best. Credit to hotel staff and chiefs. Well done team best place to isolate in Nz
Really superb stay at the Commodore. Healthy fresh food, room with a courtyard of Punga and flax, and friendly helpful - socially distanced - room service. All felt very safe and well run. The food was particularly good for quarantine. Lots of fruit and veg options with low calories to stop you ballooning !
I was lucky enough to be placed in the Commodore Hotel for Managed Isolation from September 7 - 21. From the minute I walked into the hotel until the time I left I felt like the team at the hotel, which included hotel team members, police, military and health professionals, really cared about me being there and went out of the way to make isolation not only pleasant but memorable. The hotel itself is clean and well maintained. Rooms were spacious and the beds really comfortable. The balcony was a luxury and I kept the door open during the day for most of the two weeks. The food produced by the chefs and delivered to the room was top class. It was hard to believe that they were producing so much volume of food and getting it right every time. Selections were extensive and I can not think of a meal I did not enjoy. Latte availability for my morning coffee fix made things feel like I was really in a hotel for a break. Calls from the wellness team were pleasant and friendly. It was impressive to see they noticed little things in bookings and asked questions that lead to interesting and entertaining conversations. They called just enough to make you feel comfortable without being intrusive. Their daily newsletters were insightful and interesting. Hotels is all about the memorable moments and to pull this off in an isolation situation made it even more pleasantly surprising. My last day of isolation was my birthday. With my final lunch there was a special dessert delivered with a candle and a card signed by each of the different specializations in the hotel (military, polices, hotel, nurses, etc). My hat goes off to Michael and his amazing team for executing isolation so well and for finding a way to wow their guests even in these difficult times. Well done Commodore Hotel.…
