Property looks and feels brand new. Room was clean and modern with a really comfortable bed. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Bath was an added bonus to relax in after touring the South Island. Located in the heart of Christchurch, across from the Cathedral and a few minutes walk from the bus interchange terminal. Everything you could want in a hotel room. Great value for money.

Spent four nights as a family in this delightful wee hotel for a top notch Christchurch city holiday. Sited centrally overlooking Cathedral Square, attentive and friendly staff, very clean and fresh rooms, spacious and comfortable, super viewing windows, reasonably priced. The bus interchange is a 5 minute walk away. The trams are right outside. Numerous reasonably priced food choices within a block or 2 .......top pick Riverside Market, 6 minutes walk away. Just be aware - tea making facilities only and I think no parking on site so leave the car at home and enjoy the buses and Shank's pony. Best way to see Christchurch, Over and above......they surprised me with ground coffee and plunger!

This would have to be one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in over my working career. The check in process was extremely slow, over 30 minutes, the manager who was on the front desk at the time didn’t seem to understand his own systems. One of my colleagues who also stayed asked for a parking ticket as parking is offsite, he was told he had to wait, he waited over an hour for this. The beds are as hard as a rock also, if you want slow service and a terrible nights sleep then this is the hotel for you. Please avoid this hotel!!

Just spent a few nights at Christchurch City Hotel in the centre of Christchurch. Stayed in a studio room which was spacious, very comfortable and cleanliness was spotless. The bed was very comfortable. The location of the hotel is great, very easy to get around Christchurch for sightseeing and shopping. Sui and the staff were very pleasant, friendly and very helpful with suggestions. They were very accommodating with my very early arrival and departure. There's no cafe on site at present but this is to come. This isn't an issue as there are good coffee places close by. Would definitely stay here again.
