As part of a one week ski tour of New Zealand by Haka tours, I stayed the night before the tour in their Christchurch lodge. It is located about a 15 minute drive from the center of town but on a bus route. The lodge is a mix of a couple of structures and a bit of a maze. It is clean but very basic. There are cooking facilities so you can make your own meals. Beds are comfortable but most are dorm style with a few private rooms. Rooms were clean but the lodge manager wasn’t much help when it came to information. The lodge is okay but simple. The tours are budget tours and the lodge fits that description.
The lodge was simple but so so homey and relaxing! They provided everything you could need from shower gels, towels, tea and coffee. This was one of the last days of our trip and it was unreal to have such a comfy place to hang out! Wood fire was cranking and staff were really helpful and friendly :) 10/10
Spent the night in one of the shared rooms. The set-up was very clean and everything was provided - hot water, heating, basic food and tea/coffee. The staff member was fantastic and extremely helpful. A tad far out of the CBD but there's a bus stop right in front of the lodge.
A bit far from downtown, but quiet. A car would be an asset, as it's not walking distance to the CBD. Very friendly and helpful staff, warm and cozy, with a wood stove in the common room. The lodge is on a side street (frontage) so a bit hard to find at night, for the first time. All in all, a good place to stay if you don't want the noise of downtown, or the bar scene. Haka tours also operates from the lodge
Stayed here with my mate and it was so nice! That staff are very friendly and helpful. The facilities are so nice and the whole place has a cosy relaxing vibe to it. Pretty well priced and easy to find. Would definitely reccomend 😁
