Detailed Reviews
We recently stayed at NorthSouth Holiday Park with our dog, in a park motel cabin. The accommodation was immaculate with everything that we needed for a comfortable stay. Our dog was welcomed as a guest too which is always so appreciated. Even though it was really busy with other guests, there was almost no noise, the grounds are very tidy and clean, plenty of rubbish bins, and everything was well signposted. The beds in our accomodation were very comfortable, generally better than most hotels we have stayed in and even though it was close to the motorway, there was very little noise interference. Thank you all for a lovely stay and for ensuring that your accomodation options are so well presented. David, Aileen and Pippi

We first landed in Christchurch on the 27th Feb and stayed at the Cabin at the North South Holiday Park. Since we brought our bicycles with us, we asked the owner Dan if we could keep the oversized empty boxes on the premises for another 18 days so we could collect them after we completed our trip. He agreed without any hesitation at all and we had a big relief to leave our junks behind. Anyway we stayed at the same park during the last day of our trip and again Dan extended his courtesy to have us keep our oversized luggage until late evening around 10pm where we got the Airpark transport to deliver them to the airport. The place is nice and it has a pool to cool off (I mean in the summer). The bathroom has ample hot water for showers, especially on a cold night. The kitchen is quite nice and spacious enough for folks to cook their meals. Overall a good experience staying here.

I really liked the clean rooms, complete with clean sheets, duvets, blankets and towels. We stayed in a small cabin with double bunks as we had a very early flight and would only be in the room sleeping for a short time. So it was perfectly located 5 minutes from the airport.
The room had plates, pans, cups and cutlery which was unexpected but very much appreciated!
The bathrooms were super clean, smelled fresh the entire time we were there and had music piped in (good for those of us with performance anxiety in shared bathrooms!)
The kitchen and dining area is very well maintained and supplied with ovens, sinks, large fridge/freezer and an urn for boiling water on tap.
I was greeted by a very friendly and professional staff member at reception, and was given beach towels to use at the pool. So good having the pool available, it was clean and had tables and chairs around the edges for those long, lazy days poolside!
I can't fault this holiday park, and will be recommending to friends.

This is our home away from home! The staff are all pleasant, friendly and helpful. Great assortment of room types and any room we have stayed in has been clean, tidy, warm and has comfy beds. It is a great place to stay before and after a flight. We are also appreciative of the fact we can leave our car there while we are away and there is the option for an airport pickup and drop off in business hours. Thank you team.

I stayed in the backpacker cabin with my kids. We we all really impressed! The price was great (we had a very low budget) and everything we needed was thoughtfully provided. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable. The kitchen and bathroom facilities nearby were great and my kids loved the playground. We will definitely stay again, we loved the place.

Another great stay at North South Holiday Park. Friendly Staff, well priced, lots of open space, close to the airport and close to the ring road for travel. If your travelling to Australia or further abroad it's great as you can leave your vehicle here - much cheaper than airport parking. And it's back next to the office when you arrive home at midnight with a bed waiting for you to rest before driving home.

We have now stayed at a number of campsites in our camper van trip throughout the South Island and this was the worst.
The check in was perfunctory and it seems that the site is home to many permanent residents. It all felt and looked run down and not the best end to our South Island holiday. We have stayed in some wonderful camp sites but this was the worst. It was completely soulless and suffered from considerable noise from the road and airport - we wished we had stayed elsewhere.
There is nothing within a walk of this place except a drive thru Burger King, a petrol station and a Trucker’s Stop (which was very good).
The site is tired and looks unloved and in need of an investment programme. Only one men’s bathroom (with only 4 toilets) was available for whole site at the time of our visit as the other block was decommissioned. The toilet facilities were dirty - they were like this when we arrived in the afternoon and were like this when we left the following day.
The women’s block had no soap available to wash hands after using the toilet and no hairdryers in the block nearest our camper van.
We would not recommend this place. The owners need to up their game and would encourage them to visit other camp sites to see what they could achieve. We just wished we had made a better choice for our last night on the South Island.

Thank you for your review and feedback. Apologies for not replying sooner but i have been working on my investment programme i supposedly do not have. Answering some of your points - The mens bathroom was not 'decommisioned' it was actually having a new floor installed (as part of our investment programme) - Our facilities are cleaned multiple times per day but am sorry if we missed something here. - Sometimes my staff miss things however if you had notified us that that the hand soap was empty we would have had this restocked asap. There is definitely hairdryers in both our women's bathrooms. - Our Park is situated 5 minutes from Christchurch Airport so yes there is plane noise which is to be expected. I have invested a significant amount of time and money over the past 12 months upgrading our park from the installation of a jumping pillow, new heated swimming pool, new floors and bathrooms cubicles, tree removal. We have plans this year to upgrade and add further sites, painting the entire park and many more additions as costs allow. In summary the majority of our guests love our park and can see what work has been done. We are sorry we did not meet your expectations.

Great holiday park. Good facilities . Great area for kids. Secure swimming pool. Owners are continually doing improvements to upgrade . Just off the bypass (SH 1) and near to airport
Just outside gates to camp is a car wash, a Burger King , a service station and a great wee truckers restaurant and bar and if you know anything about eating on the road, you will know to eat where the truck drivers stop.

I did my due diligence before booking. Looking at the 1 or 2 star reviews it seemed that people didn't realise their cabin didn't have a bathroom, or they were being overly picky. With this in mind I booked a cabin for 5 people to stay in.
Unfortunately the previous reviewers were right. The room was incredibly musty and stale, and leaving the windows open for several hours did not help. I assume this is because the room was really not clean. Sure, the bench and table were (probably) wiped, but I imagine the carpet has not been steam cleaned in a long while, and the sofa had a layer of grime over the arms and cushions.
The bunk beds are really small. Would be ok for kids but too small for an adult to sleep comfortably.
The bathrooms also felt grimy.
I do not recommend, would need a lot of deep cleaning to bring this up to a reasonable standard.

Thank you Karen for your review and feedback. Sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay. I can see you stayed with us back at the beginning of March where we had limited availability over a weekend. We upgraded you to a Tourist Cabin from the Backpacker unit as we felt this would be more comfortable for your stay. I can assure you that our rooms are cleaned regularly however regarding the carpet, it is due to be replaced which i will have done immediately after reading this review. Our facilities blocks are cleaned regularly throughout every day. We are in the process of some major upgrades this year including new flooring, upgrading our second block and swimming pool.

After dropping off our rental van and checking ourselves and 2 dogs onto our flight home to Hamilton we were notified that our flight was cancelled. What to do in the middle of a storm with no car, nowhere to sleep and two dogs in tow? Ring North South of course! Within 15 minutes Dan and his van were at the airport to take us back to the Holiday park to a small room that was available. Dan decided it would be no fun for 2 adults and 2 dogs in a small room, so upgraded us to a larger one. He took us back to the airport again early the next morning. The room was warm, dry and comfy and we managed to get our wet clothes washed and dry before we left again.
Thanks North South!

Hi there - the closest bus stop is approximately a 15 to 20 minute walk which will take you into the city. Alternatively there is the option of using UBER, OLA or we can book a taxi for you. Most of the buses depart from either the main bus depot in the city or at the train station - both would be around 20 minutes driving to each. Please let us know if there is anything else we can help you with. Kind regards Dan from North South Holiday Park
Hi there - our airport shuttle operates during our normal office hours of 8:00am - 8:30pm in the Summer and between 8:00am - 7:30pm in the Winter. The cost for our shuttle services is $5 per adult and $2.50 per child. Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Hello there - if you are booking our Deluxe Standard Cabins they consist of a double bed, TV Fridge and Cutlery etc.. There is a full kitchen which is close by which all the equipment you require for cooking. These cabins do not have their own shower or toilet but again the share facilities are all close by. If you do require a room with these features may i suggest one of our Ensuite Cabins, Self Contained Unit or Park Motels. Please check them out on our website.
Hi there, we have a small shop with basic items on site at the park. However there is a 24 hour petrol station with Burger King right next door and a bar/restaurant walking distance across the road.
