Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The room was clean, reasonably modern and comfortable enough. The service at reception when I booked in was not very good and the outside of the premises is quite dirty. But the biggest problem is the restaurant, it was easily the worst meal out I have ever had, the vegetables were disgusting, they were cold and had obviously just been taken from the Bain marie, where I suspect they had been for quite a while, and it was not a cheap meal. My advice is stay in the room and go elsewhere for dinner.

Just went for a meal in the public bar. I decided I wanted steak eggs and chips. Although the steak was Ribbye the cost was certainly over priced for a public bar. The total cost was $46.00. I asked why so much and the answer I got was "it is what it is? I dined at the Top club in Lyttelton the week prior and their steak (Also Ribbeye) eggs and chips meal was $28. So go there if you want a good deal and a more classesy experience. Gone Down Hill, since new management!!! Cheers Mike

Stayed here is a busy motel in an ok area. Noisy neighbours in house behind having loud party and loud music in room next door. In saying that it’s reasonably priced for accommodation these days so you get what you pay for. Plenty of parking. Not my first choice by far but for one night stay does the job.

Have emailed more than once, no response. Window net curtain had black mould, as did door frame, drapes dirty. Room reaked of bleach and carpet/air freshener. Unit otherwise OK. Restaurant clean and tidy, but plates cold, place was not busy, lamb shanks were stone cold inside, hot on outside. B/fast, plates cold, food greasy, roast arrive ten minutes after rest of meal. (Was forgotton) Partner stayed with work, month earlier, his meal was forgotton and he asked an hour later, it must have been sitting under heat lamp, as immediately arrived dry. Would be reluctant to repeat. And only posting review because emails with pictures ignored. (Emailed via their website)

Room was spacious enough and bed comfortable. We asked for another comfortable chair which was delivered, along with extra pillows. Restaurant was good pub food with generous servings. Parking very good outside unit. Reception staff very good.

I stay here every Monday, have lunch every time. So far, for me, the food served up in the restaurant has been very disappointing. Presentation - pretty good but cooking standard is terrible, over cooked or semi cold. The chips are nice though👎. Staff are friendly & rooms are tidy. I would rate the rooms as 3 stars & the restaurant as one star

Second time staying here and worse than the first time. Dirty unclean room, TV remote didn't work. As a person who was a drug addict for most of my life I thought being asked by reception why I needed the room for 3 nights and looked at weird for paying with cash (as a drug dealer would) was a bit discriminating. Would not recommend. But on a good note the restaurant was very nice....

Well priced, clean and ideally situated for where I needed to be. Plenty of space in the rooms and good bar and restaurant. A little bit noisy with lots of trucks but not overly so. Great value for money and would definitely come back. Wifi works really well and easy check in.
