THe studio unit we stayed in was small beter suited for one person not a couple and the kitchen was no bigger than a closet but he bed was comfortable and sun was welcome in the afternoon, carparking was a bit cramped but the motel itself was very well located and away from the traffic noise. Staff are very friendly and helpful,we would stay here again but in a 1 bedroom unit.

Wow...I was so impressed with the hospitality here. clean room, freeview and sky tv with HD, Excllent service. Heat pump does not work, but the host gave us two different type heaters, that make the romm pretty warm and comfortable at the chilly nights. thanks a lot

Accomadation is tight in Christchurch and surrounds, so you really do get what you pay for. Its about 8ks out of town. Good things are the bus stops just a few steps away to get into Christchurch. Its clean as well. Bad things id say is its very basic, and despite looking clean the dated and stained carpets and furniture along with the very old appliances ( tv was modern though) make it not the nicest place to stay. I'd probably pay a bit more next time, rather than go back there

What a disgusting motel, don't go there. 2 of three elements on the stove didn't work, I had to move light bulbs around to get enough light, beds were lumpy and uncomfortable. Person running the place was nice enough, but avoid this motel at all costs.

I think it comes down to expectations here. Another reviewer has discredited this place for what it doesn't have, but fails to see what it does have and what you get for your money.

I believe I got exactly what I paid for at Tui Lodge: a good night's sleep in a basic motel room close to the city. All the rooms are ground floor so I felt safe enough and although a 5.2 mag aftershock occurred during my first night here I wasn't concerned - nothing fell off the walls/shelves and I knew I could make a run for the door if neccessary!

The conveniences here were what I really appreciated. Free shuttle bus to the train station for catching the TranzAlpine was great, and the airport shuttle to and from my flights was quick and hassle free. The Warehouse is just across the road and a few more shops just a block away so I could pick up some groceries to keep me going. I caught a taxi back from the city one afternoon for $12. The managers/owners are lovely and helpful.

My only complaint would be having to pay for the internet. I have enjoyed free wifi in other motels, but here the voucher system was annoying as I used a lot. Still, the room was cheaper than I could find elsewhere even taking into account paying for the internet. So I was very happy with my stay here.

I am from Christchurch and was back home to visit family, We stayed in a number of available motels and camping grounds, accommodation is hard to find even for the people still living there. BUT I would rather have stayed in the car for my last night. This was the most disgusting place I have ever been into. We are a couple, non smokers and only 2 of us stayed BUT This was in the room when we arrived!! childs dummy under the bed, tobacco pouch under the couch seats, cigarette butts behind the couch, biscuit crackers also behind the couch, rolls of dust and grime behind couch and under bed. pepper but NO salt, bedding for 4 but only 3 coffee mugs, mismatched old crockery and dirty cutlery. Old hard and rough towels.
This place should be closed down!!! or opened up to the homeless. It is an embarrassment to Christchurch Accommodation
There is also a restaurant connected with this place I didn't dare go there!

we are nomal family comes from China looking for a economical at CHCH for 2 days. We found Tui Lodge at TA, and walked-in. It was a tidy accommondation site with clean rooms and convenient location, the manager there was a very friendly young man gives us lots of help and guidance of the city. Though it looks a bit old of its facilities, it is value for money, and conscientious for its services as described.

We were looking for a cheap place for two nights for a family of four. This motel was cheap, and did the job. It's probably past its use-by date in some ways, but our beds were clean and warm, the shower worked fine and the place did the job for us. However, the heat pump only put out cool air, so was useless. We got another portable heater from the friendly staff, so were OK. Towels were not great, but OK. Don't expect anything but the basics.

Stayed one night, accommodation was scarce in Christchurch and only wanted 1 night until we flew out the next morning. Our room backed onto the owner/manager's room and the walls were not noiseproof. Towels were old and hard, carpet worn, small kitchenette with old appliances and everthing was a bit grubby.
