Exceeded our expectations. Very quiet and lovely modern rooms. Will definitely stay again!! Only thing we found hard was the parking, the underground area is extremely tight. The one bedroom apartments are great for kids too
We had initially booked to stay but due to Covid-19 had to cancel. We emailed the manager to explain what was happening and that we would be down as soon as able - the manager was great - she accommodated us quickly and transferred our booking to suit our travel dates. That made the trip hassle free knowing all was ok. The hotel is located about 4km from the CBD but if you're up for a walk then going through Hagley park is a must, otherwise Uber were plentiful an no difficulty finding the hotel. The hotel is exactly how you see as advertised, our room was generous - it had a small balcony with seating; all coffee/tea facilities, clean and tidy bathroom and relatively quiet considering it was on a main road.
Nice place, and was clean and tidy. Finding the internal car park from the street was a real challenge. Once you do parking your car when you get in is tricky given the size of the car park, especially with a bigger vehicle. Was going great until we found a random duty sock in the fridge 🙁
Lovely room, and incredibly friendly staff (although, had to check a number of times to confirm we had two dudes booked for a king size bed....we're married, so it's OK 🤣). There's really tacky sound proofing not shown in any of the photos, it was brushed off when we asked about it other than repair is underway - which I highly doubt considering the hotel has been for sale on Trademe for nearly a year.
The property is now by far my preferred place to stay outside of the Christchurch CBD. The facilties are clean, the internet is fast, and the reception staff are always friendly and welcoming. For someone doing business at the University of Canterbury or near-by, it's great.
We have stayed here several times since they opened a couple of years ago. The rooms are spacious and always very clean. Minimalist decor. Lots of restaurants and bars and a Countdown within easy walking distance. In the past we raised the issue of bedside lamps (there weren't any) and extra sockets for charging devices. Both of these issues have been addressed, so that's a big tick in favour, as they have listened. Our only issue isthe lack of a restaurant on site although there are meals available in the pub downstairs, which means it is more of a motel than a hotel in my eyes! Parking is secure, under the building, Will stay again.
The staff were very friendly and helpful with info about Christchurch. The shower pressure was awesome. The location was really nice with a supermarket just cross the road and eateries nearby. The room was modern and very clean.
Amazing staff and great communication. They are accomodating to all requests. Breakfast is average but fresh as they only have continental breakfast, I prefer cooked breakfast, anyway, a couple of coffees just around. overall good for stop overs
Staff friendly, surprisingly quiet despite being above a bar. My room was facing brake St, I could not hear anything. Spotless clean, the bathroom was shining 😃 Plunger coffee was quality. Housekeeping was amazing
Got a musty room. Complained at reception and was told there was nothing they could do for us. Then was shocked when after spending the night there, our booking was 'cancelled' by the hotel, so that we could not post our negative review.
