Stayed for a couple of nights. Reasonably priced, modern and tidy apartment with all the necessary conveniences. Off street parking is a bonus, in room laundry facilities and short walk to eatery’s and central Christchurch.

Aside from its location - a few minutes walk directly south of the main entertainment precinct, with its external signage clearly visible from the now-fabled Pink Lady rooftop bar (a must on the verge of dusk on a clear night) - Quest on M has a feeling of freshness and spaciousness, not to mention peace and quiet. Though following the familiar format of the Quest chain, the first-floor studio that I was given was easily the best hotel room that I've experienced in a long while (and excellent value for money). Staff here are the kind of folks that you always hope to find in a hotel: friendly, and professional, completely down-to-earth. I found Quest a perfect base in my ongoing, unfortunately sporadic, engagement with a favorite city - and my quest to understand and appreciate more of Christchurch's remarkable re-emergence.
