Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very nice place, my go-to accommodation when I'll be back in Christchurch. Clean, well organized, big kitchen that feels like at home. Amazing staff. When I came in the middle of the cold night (no problems with late check in) I saw a note that staff left for me informing that they left heater, electric blanket and lamp on. It was such a nice gesture. This whole place have a homey vibe.

Amazing, small-business hostel with many like-minded travelers to meet along the way. The nice kitchen and outdoor deck area provided a tranquil respite from the hustle of Christchurch. Very responsive and helpful over email - I sent a package of my photography gear ahead to them and they held it for almost a month with no issues.

Very nice place, nice staff and great location. Close to the park, botanical garden and museum and only 20 minutes walk to the city center. Nice rooms, enough bathrooms, washrooms and a great kitchen are available. Would love to come back!

My testimonial is that this is the only place I stay every time I am in Christchurch. very helpful and welcoming staff, a historical architecture with good vibes in it, close to the city centre on a very quiet street.

Amazing hostel, had a nice touch with the stained glass windows in the lounge. Nice spacious place, nice showers, extremely helpful front desk staff. Will definitely stay again, enjoyed the people and the place.

An interesting place, but be warned reception hours are very limited and if there's a problem afterhours like someone taking your bed (as happened to me) there's no one to get help from. It got sorted, but not as calmly as it would've had there been someone on reception. As a result I've cancelled all my future bookings with the place and won't stop there again. This has ruined the whole idea of my break which was to refesh and return home relaxed. Christchurch is a great place and there's many other decent hostels you can stay at. I don't recommend this one. All the future bookings I had have now been made with another hostel.

Came here for a week in Christchurch and enjoyed our stay. Cute hostel with a nice kitchen and friendly staff. Located right at the centre of town so we had no issues getting around and home. Our only complaint was that there were no single-gender dorms available, but otherwise we had a great week here.

After few days driving with a campervan, we found the perfect place to stay and rest. In love with the sofa area, i felt like at home lying and watching a movie with a cosy blanket. The kitchen it's also nice with a enjoyable terrace and I also have appreciated to stay in a mix dorm not crowded.enough space with a small table for each bed. I have to say that i forgot my ipad in the bed and an hour later that i ve left they contact me to try to find a way to give it to me. Very nice and helpful staff!
