Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed one night in a deluxe studio unit (accessible) it was very spacious, clean, warm and had everything we required. Disabled parking handy to unit and room in unit for use of small Travel scoot Friendly hosts breakfast available if required. Very quiet unit and great blackout curtains. Good rubbish/compost systems in place, too!

booking and confirmation were a breeze, no complicated questions or insecurities. after arrival we were aware that we had received a free of charge room upgrade. the room was nice, clean and complete for our stay. The room had a king size bed and the room is fully double glazed and with a heat pump to get as comfy as we liked.

The owners are very friendly and helpful. even after we told them we had a little accident and spilled coffee on the carpet he wasn't angry but kept his cool and cleaned the carpet while we went for a walk.

To make this story not a never ending story. we like to thank Leon and his wife for the hospitality and the service. also we would go there again in a heartbeat.
Good place to stay. FYI, we spend two nights here and enjoyed all of it.

Great stay, walking distance to CBD with included on site parking was exactly what we need. Clean, well maintained with everything we needed including plunger coffee. Thank you for the upgrade to the spa room; just what I needed after a weeks work ☺️.

Owners here are truly lovely. They were very accommodating when I needed to stay an extra night without notice. The room was great with lots of space and everything you’d need like a fridge, microwave and lots of dishes and cutlery. Really quiet for sleeping and had black out blinds too. Highly recommend if you’re in Christchurch.

We've probably stayed here a dozen times now and it is always a solid choice. Easy parking right outside the motel rooms, a 10 minute walk into town and rooms that have pretty much all you need in a motel.

Yes there are a few items in the rooms that could updating and you should expect practical rather than fancy, but it's a good and easy option for your stay. Run by friendly staff and with SKY TV included in your room.

We were in Christchurch for a concert at the town hall and this motel is very conveniently located for that. The welcome is warm, plenty of information and guidance is given, and the motel unit itself was very very nice. Very clean, well provisioned, and with a decent bathroom. The motel also looked after our bags the next morning after we had checked out. I don't think you could go wrong here.

We have used this accomodation before and decided that this would be aa good place to stay again after we were forced to stay in town for a night. we checked in the motel and got a one bedroom unit for the price of a studio.
the unit was clean, spacy and had a mezanine bedroom.
the room was temepature controlled and was really cool while the temperature outside hit a blistering 35 degree.

Although we were supposed to have sky, the weather had a different plan with the reception of the signal. In my opinion not something you can blame on the business owner.
The hosts are a nice couple and are willing to go the extra mile if you just show them the respect they deserve. Thank you for the service. we wish you well.

We stayed her for only one night as we transited across the South Island, and we were so glad to have chosen Centrepoint rather than an airport motel. The location is brilliant with only a short walk to central ChCh, and an equally short stroll to Victoria Street eateries. The room was very clean and comfortable, and well-equipped for breakfast preparation. It was also delightfully quiet for an inner city motel, having both double glazing and blackout curtains. We'd be very happy to stay here again.

We booked this hotel for two nights and two days before our travel our ferry crossing was cancelled. We rescheduled for a future date and contacted the hotel to request the new dates. After two failed calls, one where they said they would called back but did not do so, we received an email to say that we needed to pay for our original booking in full and they could accommodate us for the new nights but at a higher rate effectively charging us more than twice. We called and after a frustrating conversation we asked to speak with the manager. We were refused and the person hung up. Our experience feels very similar to captan10 above. I recommend choosing any hotel rather than this one. We had to reschedule 10 bookings across the Sth Island as a result of the ferry cancellation. This was the only one who behaved like this.

We recently spent 3 nights at CentrePoint on Columbo Motel and were very pleased with the whole experience. The owners were very helpful, changing our accommodation to a ground floor unit, which was very well suited to us. The unit was very well equipped, spotlessly clean and clean towels supplied daily. The motel is within walking distance to the main centre, has good parking and security. We would recommend this hotel and intend to stay again on our future return to Christchurch. Thank you for a most enjoyable visit.

Hi, how much do you charge for the airport shuttle service per person? Thanks.
Answer from Centrepoint1
Christchurch
Hi and thanks for the question - I know the answer! 1 person is $24, 2 people are $29 and from then on add $5 for each extra person, or an exclusive charter is $75. (all prices are current when this email was written and are subject to change at any time and without notice - because we don't control the pricing) Hope that helps! btw, taxis from the airport are +-$50 btw, btw, a local bus can cost as little as $4 per person.....

Do you provide transportation to the railroad? Thanks.
Answer from zmanCalifornia
Garden Grove, California185 contributions129 helpful votes
From my experience, the motel does not provide transport to the train station. However, they will supply you with detailed directions, which are necessary, as it's tricky to find.
Answer from Centrepoint1
Christchurch
There are 3 options for transport from the airport. City bus #29 leaves the airport twice an hour, costs $8 and stops just 80 metres from the motel entrance. SuperShuttle is $24 for 1 person and will drop you off at the motel entrance. Taxis are $50+ Hope this helps your planning.

Does the hotel has a car park for stay-in guests? If yes, how much is the car parking charge per night?
Answer from Centrepoint1
Christchurch
Yes, there is car parking onsite. One car park for each room. There is no charge for car parking. It is free! That is just one of the wonderful things of choosing to stay in a motel as opposed to most other types of accommodation options! Remember to book direct (on the motel website) for the best accommodation deal.
