If you require a quiet nights stay DO NOT STAY HERE.... We had booked at this place and paid very good money for two nights thinking we would have a lovely experience. My husband and myself are very busy people and are up very early every morning. We very rarely get time to stay away with our business. But as it was coming up to our 40th wedding anniversary (which the owners were aware of) we arranged for people to look after our business while away for the 2 days. We had especially booked a suite with a balcony and all seemed okay upon arrival although we did see and hear a group of several "happy" people outside of the executive suite making rather a lot of noise and this was early afternoon but thought nothing of it. After a lovely meal out we arrived back at our suite and went to bed around 9-30. The executive suite was right above our bedroom and we could hear everything. And we mean EVERYTHING.. the language, chairs scrapping ALL THE TIME people falling over and everything that was dropped. This went on till around 3 a.m. we had not had a wink of sleep and were totally over it by then. We hopefully thought they would be leaving that morning and we would be able to enjoy at least one night but we thought it wise to find out as we could not go through another night like that again. Unfortunately we were told they were all staying another night. They advised us they had warned the people concerned (as someone else must have complained.) We were told they could put us in a back room, no sun or balcony and no offer of a refund for a cheaper room. They were not interested in helping us at all and when they were told we would have to leave as we could not go through another night of no sleep they made no attempt to rectify the problem to our satisfaction. They also would not give us any reimbursement for the terrible night we had suffered due to their guests... They were told we would be returning home as it had ruined our weekend and all that was said "SORRY." This is appalling. To treat ones guests as such is unforgivable and we were left not only very weary travellers but utterly disgusted and disappointed. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND TO ANYONE......

Always love staying at the Focus. The apartments and motels are modern, very clean, well appointed and in a great location. But even more, the service and level of care is exceptional. The managers are friendly, kind and go the extra mile for their clients.

We stayed here as a travelling party of four on a busy Saturday night. I called at 1 pm to see what time we could check in, his response was your room is ready come whenever your ready. (Certainly, not a response you get from other places) Greeting on arrival was extremely pleasant. Showed us to our room, places to go, where to eat etc. Room was spotless & beds were extremely clean & comfy. Only small criticism & nothing on the owners is, if we were there for longer the living room would've been a little cramped as the living space is quite small for a two bedroom apartment. But I would definitely stay again no problems. Keep greeting the way you guys do, you are amazing.

The motel room was everything that we hoped for. Spotless and well appointed. The beds were comfortable. It is close to many restaurants and attractions in Christchurch. If I visited Christchurch then I would certainly stay here again.
