Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a friendly and welcoming place! The location is excellent and parking was easy. The bedroom was spacious and the bed really comfortable. The pillows needed refreshing as they were a bit old and flat. The kitchen had everything we needed. They even provided washing up liquid and tea towels! It was all spotlessly clean. Though the decor was dated, it felt like home away from home and we loved our stay.

They looked after us incredibly well after we were let down by our travel provider. They were great on the phone and at check in. Came to check on us a bit later and allowed us to stay past checkout time for a few hours before our travel pick up.

This Motel is not 5 star but it is a home away from home,it is very clean and tidy, very friendly operators that will do everything to make ones visit as stress free as possible. As we were attending Hospital appointments the stress and worry is up anyway but they were quite happy to provide transport to our first appointment so that we knew where to go.A good Motel to stay at,has a bus stop outside the gate, which was great to travel on with the Gold Card,Thanks to the operators,we enjoyed our stay.

This is the second time we stayed here. We found the experience very relaxing and the hosts extremely accommodating. They went out of their way to please us and succeeded in doing so. The room we had was perfect for us. The motel itself is probably a bit dated but nonetheless, comfortable, clean and tidy. The rooms are a good size and contain all that is necessary for a long or short stay. I believe there is a pool although we didn't use it. Outside the gate there is a bus stop for your convenience and a Z petrol station right next door. Plenty of eateries in walking distance. If you want a comfortable stay with very good hosts this is the place for you. Thank you so much to our hosts for all they did for us.

Had a 2 Bedroom unit and were very impressed. Very spacious for our family of 4. Warm, quiet, comfy beds and great shower. Heaps of car parking. Priced fairly. Walking distance to AMI Stadium, friendly hosts. We will definitely be back.

We booked a 2 bedroom unit for 2 nights, coming from Greymouth through Arthurs Pass and then heading back to Picton to catch the ferry. The Owners of the Motel were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for them. We had a lot of laundry to do and were going to go to a Laundromat but they insisted on using their facilities, which were great. Couldn't speak highly enough of this Motel. It is very clean and tidy and warm and very handy to everything. Easy to get around the city from here. Highly recommend this Motel to anyone wanting to stay in Christchurch.

Good clean motel. Basic but for the money I wouldn't have expected much more. We picked a cold week to visit but the heaters in the room are great. Little isolated for walking anywhere except the raceway or stadium but all in all good.

Booked this privately due to locality and very favourable review from family member. Couldn't have wished for more friendly, accomodating and obliging hosts. Facilities are currently being upgraded but very clean and tidy. Very high standards observed here. Good parking. Hopefully in time heaters will be upgraded as was rather noisy but worked well. A large carving/bread knife would be a welcome addition to cutlery. The hosts also offer medical transport services not often found elsewhere. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend to others. Thank you June and Kevin for a very pleasant stay.

We arrived on a late flight to stay there the night before our Trans Alpine Train trip the following day. I asked at reception how long it would take to walk to the station and he offered to drive us there instead. That was greatly appreciated. I fully recommend a stay here. Very hospitable staff.

Cold drafty room with heater that kicks on for 1-2 minutes loudly, shuts off, turns back on all night while you are trying to sleep on the rock hard lumpy beds where every spring is pushing into your back. The local roadworks crews stay there; once you finally fall asleep be prepared to be awoken by cigarette smoke working its way into your drafty room and the now happily intoxicated workers talking loudly while smoking outside your room. Through the paper thin walls you can hear another room coughing all night (their room is likely drafty as well), another room using the toilet twice an hour with a loud flush, and another room who likely couldn't sleep resorting to middle of the night pleasure making. Glad to never stay here again!
