We needed a hotel in close proximity to the airport after our 2 week holiday on the South Island. The Novotel was fairly dear at NZD$250+ for a night, so we opted for Jucy Snooze.
Unfortunately, I should have paid more attention to the reviews as the room could only be described as extremely small with the bed taking up most of the room - you had to climb over the bed to get to the other side. No chairs, no fridge and the noise from outside when other guests arrived, was rather loud.
Still, it was reasonably close to the airport - wouldn't like to walk it dragging our suitcases when you are in your 60's - a taxi cost just over NZD$10 which I thought was a bit high, but happily paid at 4:30am.
It was okay, the staff were friendly, but read all reviews first before booking.

We like to think we are compact with everything required for a short stay and we have images on our website and travel agent listings to reflect the smaller sized rooms. I lived in a hostel before and I didn't quite like the idea of sharing room with others, however, because of the privacy pods that Jucy offered, I decided to give it a try and it was the best decision ever.
The pods were really comfortable and there's enough room for me to place my bag (a backpack and a little bag) in there and sleep. There's also a little shelf that you can leave your stuff there before you go to bed like your glasses if you're wearing one. Charging sockets are on the panel beside you along with the controls for the switch and the fan. And when you want some privacy, just pull down the blinds.
The shower rooms are also the cleanest and I would say one of the best in hostels that I've lived in. My only gripe is that there weren't any little shelf to place my toiletries and I've to place it on the ground but that's just me nitpicking.
Kitchen was really clean and they have got the coziest common room in the world.
I tend to avoid common rooms in hostels as it's usually not comfortable or not as clean but at Jucy, I stayed at the common room for hours simply cause it's comfortable.
I was really sad to check out when it's time to go but I'll definitely be back when I have the chance to.

I stayed in a Queen room. I've stayed in pods before, wasn't keen on it these days. The room itself was basic, but good. A small fridge in the room would be helpful as I don't want to leave my stuff in a communal fridge.
The bed was comfy. I didn't use the air con in the room, it was noisy, just had the window open. Hallway noise wasn't pleasant.
I wasn't impressed, that there was only one roll of toilet paper in the room, no spare. I went down for some more when I ran out, although given to me, it seemed like a hassle & I was asked if I was checking out that day. I don't know what that had to do with anything.
The wifi was great though, very fast.
One more thing, if it's not safe to park on the road & you need to park in your carpark, maybe a cheaper price or a discount if you are staying more than one night.

I spent one night in a 6 beds dorm at jucy snooze-Christchurch. The great part of this stay was that the accomodation is really close to the airport: you can reach the terminal within 15min walking! The not-so-cool thing was the noise made by the other guests all night, waking me up by slamming the door, cause their flights took off or landed in the middle of the night. Appart from that : great price, clean place and a comfy chill areal to relax : )

We hard a large group staying at the Jucy Snooze in Christchurch. This worked out really well for us, as we could fill several pod rooms without sharing with strangers. The location of the Jucy Snooze is perfect - only 10 minutes walk from the airport, right behind a supermarket and food shops, and a short walk to a bus stop to head into the city.
The facility was one of the best backpackers I've stayed in. The common space is very light and open, with nice hammocks and lounging chairs. The wifi is very fast and the pods were clean. There was some food scraps left in the kitchen, which isn't surprising considering the number of people passing through.
The bathrooms were good, but it would be better to provide guests with towels and not require them to bring their own soap.
Overall, a nice experience and we will probably be back again, especially if we have a large group,

On our recent trip to NZ we spent our first 2 nights here. We arrived at 10 am, after traveling for over 24 hrs. The receptionist said we could have our room for an extra charge of $15. Being so tired we agreed, and our room was made available to us immediately. Why would they make us pay extra for a room that was already available? The second night we were awoken by a couple who had a key to our room, apparently the receptionist checked them into a room we were already occupying. The next morning my husband went down to voice his concern about someone being given a key to our room and was told it was just a mistake. I wrote to the company voicing my concerns that someone was given a key to our room and her response was to forward an email from the receptionist who my husband had spoken to. She described my husband using derogatory terms. So instead of answering my concerns she turned it around claiming my husband was out of line to complain. I repeatedly asked for a refund but was refused. The hotel took advantage of us and when they made an unacceptable error they refused to compensate us

Hi Audrey Thank you for your feedback, I am sorry to hear you did not enjoy your experience during your stay with us. For arrivals prior to our checkin time of 2pm there is an early check in fee. This charge is due to re-organising room allocations as well as well as when a guest requests an early check in we make this priority for our housekeeping team to have cleaned first, ready for the guests stay. As 10am is our check out time, we will have made your room a priority to clean. If guests prefer not to pay this charge they are welcome to relax in our communal space with free wifi until check in time. From the notes in your reservation I see we offered you a free stay at the time of your stay to apologise for the error, as one of the new staff did accidentally issue an incorrect key which he was very apologetic for. Under the current circumstances I'm sure you will not be returning to New Zealand anytime soon however this offer is most certainly valid for any time in the future, please just email us on christchurch@jucysnooze.co.nz and we can arrange this for you. Easy self check in/out. Stayed in the pod. The pod was clean and locker is provided for your luggage. I was able to fit my small 24inch luggage but I think bigger luggage might have a hard to time to fit inside. But they do have bigger lockers outside the rooms. available to rent. No towels or basic toiletries provided but towel are available for rent, so advised to bring your own. There is a common area with a shared kitchen available.
My sister had some unpleasant trouble with another traveller sleeping in her pod. The traveller was unfriendly and won't move even though she was in the wrong pod, but the staff there was nice to offer my sister another pod to sleep in.
We only stayed here for a night as we had a very early flight to catch. The place is a short 10 minutes walk to the airport. Take note though, as the accommodation is cheap and near the airport, there are a lot of travellers coming in and out even during the early morning.

The hostel was convenient for the airport and for picking up car hire. However the staff weren't overly helpful, and the minibus to get to the car rental had no fixed times of departures and just seemed to turn up as and when. The dorm room was fairly clean and comfortable. The showers needed a bit more cleaning and maintenance especially in the mornings. For the price however it was decent.

Hi Ellie, thank you for your feedback and I'm sorry to hear you did not find the team helpful - we usually receive great feedback regarding our team however as your stay was during the period when New Zealand went into Level Four lock down our team may have been quite busy with cancellations as well as the new procedures that went into place for self-isolation. I'm sure you can understand this was a very busy time for us and we may not have been on our usual game :o) Our shuttle runs every twenty - thirty minutes between the airport, Jucy rentals and our hotel on a consistent loop so we only offer approximate times as sometimes this shuttle can be delayed depending on how many guests are at rentals/ the airport etc. We clean our communal bathrooms three times daily however unfortunately sometimes guests can leave a bit of a mess in between these times. What a great find for convenience without burning a hole in the pocket! We needed accommodation near the airport and Jucy Snooze fit the bill plus they provide free shuttle service to/from the airport as well as the car rental. There are restaurants and a supermarket within walking distance. Jucy Snooze also has a huge common area for guests to chill out — with full kitchen facilities & hammocks to hang out in. Service was great, a special shoutout to Lara (hope I got the spelling right) who went out of her way to assist us with our left baggage.

We(family of 3) had a 7am flight so needed accom close to the airport for a night. Check in was a breeze as I could do it contactless via a tablet. Reception is 24hrs and the ladies were nice and greeting. We'd booked the queen family room which was suprisingly spacious and spotlessly clean. It had everything we needed and the bonus was a smart TV, which we managed to stream the nz kiwis vs tonga league game onto. Common areas were warm and inviting and the 5-7min walk to the airport a breeze. Would definately stay again

It was simple. You exit the airport into long term parking lot. Follow its covered walkway to the end and then go straight across the street where the walkway ends. On the other side stay on the sidewalk that is lit with green lights and it brings you straight there.
Im a daily walker so to me it’s a doable stroll. Prob take 10-15 mins. You actually walk past a supermarket, McDonalds, KFC etc if you happen to require anything.
The lockers in the room seemed huge to me, so I believe it will fit. There are also additional (paid) lockers in the hallway, though they were out of order during my visit. I don't think there is an airport shuttle, since you can walk really easily.
