Detailed Reviews
We book one night here because we wanted to use the spa that cost 10 dollars extra and I called in advance to ask and they said was all good and working. But when we arrived they said “for tonight is fully booked” what was extremely disappointing because we were skiing the whole day and wanted a hot spa. Anyway we decided to stay and paid 50 dollars for a powered site. They offered us a hot swimming pool that was quite cold but still was ok the problem with that was that the pool doesn’t have any changing room close by so after being in the pool we walked in the cold to go to the van grab clothes and find a toilet. Close to the campervan area where I was (site 16) there are only 2 family bathroom because a main area over there is temporally close. Couldn’t even see the kitchen so I guess was quite far from us. This family toilets were handy during the night when not busy but imposible to use in the morning because everyone was using the showers.
Another thing very important that I heard but didn’t affected us is that the fridges get locked at 8pm. But still kitchen open. Lady at reception gave us a code for wifii what I don’t know is for free or she was kind to us? The holiday park look nice anyway, quite crowed of campervans and I guess is a nice place for families with kids. I saw many attractions, big chess, trampoline, game room etc. In my opinion the area where I stayed should be cheaper because facilities are not close. Park looked good and well maintained.

Thank you for your feedback. I am glad that there were aspects of your stay that you enjoyed. Our wifi is definitely free! I am not sure why you were not able to pre book a spa before arrival and I will talk to our reception team about this. I am sorry about the trouble with the amenities blocks, this winter was the first time we have ever shut a block and we did get some things wrong. They are now fully open as usual. Kind regards Tammara

This place is so impressive!
Drive through check in, friendly service and very knowledgable and helpful.
We stayed on a powered site as we were staying in a camper van.
Use of the indoor heated pool with a slide was great for the 14 yr old that was travelling with us.
Toilet/shower amenities were pleasing on the eye and modern.
Non contact taps - so don't need to touch anything to turn them on or off - just swipe your hand near them. Plenty of cubicles for the toilets and showers.
Great water pressure for the showers.
Hair dryer available in the bathroom.
Good dump site facilities.
Would stay here again in a heart beat. Also going to recommend to friends and family.

We really enjoyed our stay for 1 night in a 2 bedroom cabin, considering the price I was very surprised to see that although we didn’t have kitchen facilities we were fully stocked with a fridge and all the utensils needed to make a meal. The children love the pool and playground. As locals I’m sure you’ll see us again.

I had booked a 2 bedroom self contained unit for 5 adults a baby and a child $622. Check in was from 2pm we arrived at 4pm to be told our room wasn’t ready. It was hot and the baby needed fed and changed. We were told we could use the facilities. What facilities? We could not use the pool as no towels , we could not find a baby change table . Eventually got into our room after 5, which was dark, dingy and smelly! My Granddaughter wanted to play in the pool which was over run by 10 or so obnoxious boys out of control. Nobody monitoring what was happening. Play ground was all right but once again you had to watch and watch out for cars etc as they drive way to fast. I really wanted this to be a nice time for my family as we were up celebrating my parents 57th wedding anniversary and my father is terminally ill! We all needed some time to rest and relax but unfortunately this did not happen. Would not recommend at all and will not be going again.

I had booked a unit for arrival at 4pm. Tired after a long drive I arrived at 4.30pm and was told that the room was not ready as it still hadn't been cleaned, but was told it would be ready in 30 mins. I waited until 5.45pm until it was ready. An hour and a quarter wait! The excuse was that it was school holidays and they were busy. I would have thought that school holidays would be predictable as a busy time and could be planned for. the room was very cold, the microwave was not cleaned and was dirty, the bed cover smelt bad and with no heater in the bathroom was too cold in there to want to take a shower in there in the morning. I have had above average experiences at other Top 10 sites around the country, but sorry to say that this one lets the side down. I notice looking at other reviews that my disappointing experience is not the only one. I work in tourism, and I know that things do not always go to plan. The normal and correct way to deal with a delayed service is to offer recompense of some sort, in this case either finding alternative accommodation close by, a rebate, or even just a sincere apology.

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to post this review, I have been in touch with your directly via email - please let me know if you have not received that yet. We aim to provide a great experience every time so it is always disappointing to hear we have got it wrong. I have spoken with the cleaners about maintaining their standards. With regards to the late check in of your room, I do apologise for the time you had to wait. We did have a few days over the holidays where we were short of staff in housekeeping as there was a cold going around at the time. We take our commitment to COVID 19 safety seriously and we could not allow unwell staff to work. This means our team were working with less than adequate numbers during some extremely busy days. Our new reception team member did panic a bit when spoken to by you and said we were busy due to the holidays instead of just explaining the situation. We have provided additional training for her. My understanding is our reception team did attempt to contact all arriving guests on those days early on the day to explain the situation and get an ETA so we could prioritise the rooms. I also apologise for the apparent lack of care as this is unacceptable. I will take it up with the relevant staff. Kind regards Tammara

I always stay at top 10 holiday parks when travelling when I can (I am a member)but I have to say I was disappointed by the standard of the motel we got. Bathroom was ok but very dated, 2nd bedroom with bunks had cracked and broken Venetian blinds that didn’t keep the morning light out, light bulb was blown in spare room, fan in bathroom was noisy and the window joinery looked like they needed a good scrub in kitchen and bathroom. To say I was shocked with the standard was an understatement given we have stayed here before and it was lovely. Next time we will most prob stay in a kiwi cozy cabin as I feel this was all the motel was worth. Hopefully they are on the list to be refurbed as they most def need it.

We booked a 2 bedroom family unit through Booking.com. First impressions was the entry and check in which was fabulous, very bright, friendly and welcoming. When we entered the unit it was awful as it smelled like someone had pee'd on everything (we hope it was just some strong cheap disinfectant?). There was hair in the shower, mould on the tiles, the basin was cracked with black lines running through it and there was a literally sticky patch in the carpet in the first bedroom. It was only one night so we stayed but I would not pay that price for a unit at this park again. Probably much nicer if you BYO tent and camp out. I personally think someone is pushing up the ratings on review sites as this facility has a lot of 10/10 ratings with no comments left compared to the lower rated reviews that tend to mention dirty facilities.

I have used this property twice in 2018 and 2019 as a base when starting / ending my NZ roadtrip.
I have booked for a Powered campsite as well as a 2room self contained unit. Top10 Christchurch is a very comprehensive facility with activities for the kids, as well as for travellers be in one on a campervan, car or stopover. The communal kitchen has space for cooking of up to at least 5 hobs at one go. It also has a shared fridge and washing facilities + laundry amenities.
The self contained unit also has its own cooking amenities and cockery. Space in the unit is fairly large and comfortable + clean.
Overall, the entire property is laid out wide with ample space for kids to roam around. At any time, there are campervans, tents, cars all around but you dont really feel like its overrun.
An inflatable pillow, playground, slides, pool, hot tub keeps everyone happy

We stayed here two nights at the beginning of our holiday and one at the end. We were in a camper in a powered site and was one of our favourite camp sites. Great feel and close to ammenities block. Great hot showers and no timer like some others have, clean ammenities blocks and drinks and bits available at the reception. Staff were friendly and helpful and we liked the drive through check in. Thanks

Perfect, we are a family of six (kids between 16-23) so we booked a 2 room units for 2 nights. Had everything we needed. It was quiet and clean. Staff was professional and friendly. Kids took full advantage of being close to the shopping mall and the heated pool. Communal areas are well equipped and well maintained.

Hi There,
Christchurch is fantastic for families. We have the Margaret Mary playground which is the largest in the Southern Hemisphere. Our museum and art gallery is free or only requests a koha (donation).
The city is pedestrian friendly and has a great selection of shops and restaurants all within a 15 minute stroll of the botanical gardens.we also have 7 restaurants right across the road from the park.
I’m not sure how old the kids are, for the younger kids we have a playground at the park and indoor play area. Older kids will enjoy our snookball and indoor heated swimming pool.
Activities around Christchurch include the Antarctic centre, tram and Gobdola. If the kids are a bit more active there is adventure park and blokarting available. Plus a whole lot more!
Akaroa is a sleepy village that has a lit of restaurants, a bit of shopping and a small playground/beach area. It is a liovely spot to unwind and you can do a great nature cruise within the harbour.
Hope this helps!
Hi there,
We missed this question but hopefully others can benefit from the answer!
There is no additional charge for the swimming pool and water slide, jumping pillow, indoor play area or NEOS.
We do charge $5 per 30 minutes for fun bike hire and $10 per 30 minutes for private hot tub hire. Club Card members do receive 1 complimentary 30 minute hot tub booking per stay.
Hi there,
I think I replied to your email directly, however to answer your question, no we don't offer a shuttle service. We recommend super shuttle who charge $23 for the first person in your group, $5 for each additional person. Alternatively you can catch a taxi for around $38 each way for up to 4 people.
Kind regards,
Tammara
We ate 5km from the city Centre.
Thanks for your enquiry.
Yes, it would be best to book a site. You will not miss out on a site if you do not but you will get a better site; it will be busy at that time.
